“Nice hotel, great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Generally impressed with this hotel - appears very fresh and new. Pool areas are excellent and views from front facing bedroom are superb. Plenty of nice restaurants and bars nearby and short walk to town centre. Was disappointed that Wi-Fi was not free. Bit much of the Hilton Group to be expecting guests to pay for Wi-Fi access in this day and age - free in all adjoining restaurants. Also noticed that mini-bar prices which are usually high in hotels were exorbitant here. Pick up a soft drink, beer, etc in the supermarket across the road if you want one.

Rooms lovely, room servicing good. No luggage stands which is a little unusual for an international chain hotel. But a seat an the end of the bed worked. Very comfy bed. They seem to have almost none of the pillow menu options. Just big feather pillows, but the very helpful housemaid produced a smaller latex pillow the next day. View from our 4 th floor room over the harbour is lovely. Doors have a fly screen too, so we slept with door open which was lovely in current warm weather. One thing though is the cigarette smoke which drifts in from adjoining balconies.
Breakfast buffet excellent. Lots of fresh fruit and cook to order eggs. Dinner at the rooftop restaurant with a memorable view was very nice. Get to choose from Italian menu or seafood. We combined them with a bit from both.
Had a fabulous massage at the spa downstairs, I had the Sultan massage that included the mud and husband had basic massage which was one of his best ever. $100US for both which I thought was reasonable.
Now for the pool! Definitely lets this hotel down. No towels available on 3 different occasions. Took a major complaint at front desk to get anything about 20 mins later. Dirty towels left lying around on grubby sun loungers. The cushions so grubby I wouldn't sit on them without a towel. Pool itself is lovely. Pool food was coming out of same kitchen that did breakfast. First day it was excellent.
Second day, chips were cold so we sent them back. They returned to us, I suspect the same chips but on really hot plate with cold chips. Anyway. Lovely hotel let down by annoyingly bad service by the pool.

Room Tip: Overlooking harbour with balcony

A typical hilton I call it very clean and comfortable not overly crowded indoor and outdoor pools were good too a good value for money not for those honeymooners who like happening around them this is just too perfect for business people and I found quite lot of them as you know hilton is famous for but overall it's a wonderful place to stay

Summary: good pools, comfy beds; blood on my doona, poor customer service, limited English.

Visually, it's fantastic; the facilities, particularly pools and rooms, look great. It's right on the main strip of the beach and I can imagine it would be very family friendly. Our balcony was cool, looked onto a dusty carpark but had comfy chairs. Those worried about security though may not like the fact that you could just walk across to the next persons balcony (over a pot plant).

The hotel was surprisingly empty and despite my booking request, they put us in a small, smoking room with two separate beds. I complained to the first staff and he shrugged and said it was nice. So I called reception and they gave us a much more spacious, queen bed room.

The Turkish hammam was a good experience but the spa staff were never present at the front desk, in fact, I managed a quick dip in their indoor pool while I was waiting for my appointment! The lady was also late because they were apparently busy (but there was no-one around? I was pretty sure I saw her in the pool earlier). If you have any spa services you must pay there as you can't bundle it with hotel reception when you leave. Discovered this only after I had settled in bed and they called me to come back downstairs to pay.
On closer inspection of my bed, there were blood splatters on my doona at the top near where my face was - gross!

In the morning, parts of the hotel were pitch black with no lights on. Not what I expect for a Hilton hotel.

All English-speaking staff appear to be limited to the meet&greet team at the lobby. At breakfast, I asked if there was olive oil for the salad and hot water to make tea and both accounts the staff shrugged said he didn't understand and walked off.

This is a nice new hotel in a great location. It was a wonderful experience with nice amenities, including the great breakfast buffet. The only annoyance was that they harass you for carrying water bottles.

Overall the hotel property itself is beautiful. Brand new hotel in a great location near the beach and an easy walk to almost everywhere. We stayed in one of the rooms on the first floor with its own pool. Pretty good feature if you can get one. The rooms are nice but could use some purging. Too much furniture for the room size. So the room can feel a bit crowded. The hotel spa and pool area are very nice. We used the gym a few times. not a lot of equipment but you can make do with what they have. The main pool is an excellent place to unwind at the end of an adventurous day. But you will wait forever and a day for service. And that was a daily occurrence. We only ate breakfast at the restaurant that offered the buffet. Good choices and decent value for what you get. We ate in town for dinners and traditional Turkish lunches on our daily tours.
My only concern about this hotel is the staff themselves. Unpredictable and no continuity. Some are good to deal with and most were not. Like many of the reviews here I have to agree with many of them in that they just don't seem well versed in hotel customer service. Not a lot of smiling going on here. And when you do ask for things often you felt like you were inconveniencing them. This put both my wife and myself off for the most part. Although I cant lump everybody in one category as there were a couple staff that were very nice and seemed to be well versed in five star customer service. The Doubletree Kusadasi will need to be careful in their first year. If somebody doesn't clean house here or re train or properly train staff for that matter i could see this hotel quickly becoming a hotel that needs to deep discount their rates in order to attract people. You can only get away with poor customer service for so long before it comes back to haunt you. Many people who frequent Doubletree's or similar North American chain hotels will be used to a certain level of customer service. At this time you wont find that at this particular location.
In all, i would stay again but only for the location and the fact that its a nice brand new boutique hotel.

Room service was awful everyday the number of towels were decreasing. I have to change my room card 5 times in 3 days. Internet connection is additional price and very slow. They charge you for each device. So if you try to connect via laptop, tab and smartphone you should pay triple which is nearly one month internet connection price in Turkey. Hotel general ambiance is fine and very nicely decorated. But if you pay attention to the service definitely you wont be very satisfied.
