Stayed at the Korumar in October (2013) which was starting to come to the end of the season, which was perfect for us as it was just that little bit quieter.
It is most definitely worth getting a sea view, in fact essential, the view over the Aegean is fantastic and you get a great view down the coast, past the marina, through the town of Kusadasi and onto Pigeon Island. Most days one or two big cruise ships parked in the harbour and a nice sight to watch them leaving at twilight.
The hotel is spotless, always people cleaning it. There was only one restaurant open whilst we were there, as it was in wind-down, but that was great, loads of choice for all meals, standard fayre, salads, then a s special every night and a chef cooking other specials such as omelettes for breakfast as well. Really did have a good selection. Try and get a seat near the window, both breakfast and evenings, the views are great.
The pool area is nice, and the service from the pool staff was excellent, very attentive and if they saw you looking for a space, they were over like a shot and help you set up the lounger.
Food outside the restaurant was good as well, there was an area below the pool, where fresh Gozleme (pancakes) were made, practically all day !
In fact there are lots of "nooks and crannies" to this hotel, apart from the gozleme place, if you carried on down the steps towards the sea, there was another bar/restaurant and some great little places to lie out on the decking away from the pool area.
There isn't a beach as such and that is clear in the brochure, but to be honest the other facilities more than made up for this, there are so many places where you can lay out or sit, all within easy reach of a bar and snack/restaurant.
The rooms aren't massive but serviced every day and totally adequate, no tea and coffee in the room so you have to bring that back up with you. Though the mini bar is restocked every day and is covered by the all inclusive deal if that's what you buy.
The balcony is very small, just enough room for two chairs and a table, it would have been nice if this area was bigger especially for sitting out in the evening and watching the views over the harbour. But hey, you get these views downstairs at the bar as well.
If I have one gripe, I did find the bar staff to be a little less friendly than the other staff. They spent a lot of time chatting amongst themselves and with other staff.... no big deal but it often meant that you had to go and get your own drinks. Their attitude wasn't great either and one evening two of them told me off for moving chairs in the bar area !
But to repeat, all other staff were excellent, pool staff, room maids, reception, etc... all great.
Hence 4 stars below.
We loved the location as well, 15 - 20 minute walk from the centre of Kusadasi. OK going downhill and actually not too bad coming back but the Dolmus busses are excellent, every 10- 15 minutes about 60pence. The location was away from the hustle and bustle of the centre and gave great views over the town.
All-in-all a nice hotel to stay at, especially when we went, I can't say for high season but I expect it is pretty good then as well. A nice relaxing atmosphere, great location, great food...oh... drinks on the all inclusive are a bit limited and here again I'm afraid the bar staff weren't much help. After a few days it turned out my rum and coke was in fact some local brandy but they didn't tell me because they don't do rum ! so they kept it a secret !
I would definitely stay again.
Only get a sea view
