We booked fortnight in the Kusasun for a family holiday in July.Upon arrival we we're impressed with the size of our room and the cleanliness.The room had a small television with a B.B.C news 24 channel to keep updated on the news, and sport from back home.The kids had two sofa beds in a large room,and our bedroom had two single beds in the same family room.

We realized after a couple of days that the food here wasn't fantastic,and many guests we're complaining about it,in my own opinion it was acceptable,i just found it uncomfortable,having the waiters constantly hovering over you,and sometimes even lifting your plate before you we're finished your meal!

After a fortnight we did eat out on a few occasions,but only because the meals in the evenings became too repetitive.The hotel had a fine big pool,but like a few other people,i did think they put too much chemicals in, and came out with sore eyes on a couple of occasions.The bar next to the pool was a bit of a joke to be honest,the boiler for the tea was often broken and the coffee was like tar,they always seemed to run out of soft drinks,and wine,but the beer was fine.The staff in general we're fine,but i found one or two of the younger one's to be quite rude,and the lady that ran the hotel,strangely didn't speak English!

Now to my biggest complaint about Kusasun,the noise during the night was terrible,new arrivals can't be helped during the night,but a little reminder to those entering the hotel at a late hour,that other guests are sleeping,may have prevented the laughing and giggling,shouting and,running up and down the corridors.We also had a bad experience with two young women,sitting,drinking until 5 am in the morning on another persons balcony,we rang reception to complain,but the noise continued,we also found out that the same women had been running around the pool with the hotel security at 6 am in the Morning the day before!

I probably wouldn't return to the Kusasun hotel,but you could do worse on staying in Turkey,the hotel is a fair distance from the seafront,but a dolmus bus stops regularly outside the hotel and it's cheap enough to nip into town if you want to get out.

I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel from the 23rd May until the 6th June 2011. The rooms were huge, the best room I have stayed in EVER!! I travelled with my sister and her husband and we were all very impresssed. So much so that we are all going back in September. The food was good, although could have provided more but anytime we asked for anything, the staff couldnt have been more helpful!!! Friendly staff and always smiling!! Everything about the hotel was clean and the pool area was quiet, which meant no fighting over sunbeds...fantastic!!.We just chilled out most days!! Not that far into town, either 15 minute walk or Number 6 dolmus outside the hotel....Great value for money, I highly recommend trying it!!!

Yurttakalan / KusaSun hotel, Kusadasi, Turkey. 19 - 28 July 2011.
We (my self, my husband and 2 teen age sons 15 and 17) stayed at the hotel in an all inclusive package. Hotel offerings are minimalistic but has all the essentials. Free WiFi access, PC in reception for those who want to use it, good descent size appartments with air conditioning that are beautifully clean. Lounge / kitchenet area that has no facilities for any cooking but does have a fridge, bed / settee ( folds out to a large single bed)a and 2 chairs, tv; separate bedroom with 2 single beds, bathroom with a shower, balcolney. The hotel complex has a swimming pool with a separate childrens pool and plenty of space for sun beds. The food has been very fresh with plenty of choice. Food, soft drinks and wine and local spirits have been freely available through out the day but finish too early at 10pm.

Dinner is served out in the garden. The Sunset views are amazing.

The best part of our stay has been the staff. They have been fantastic despite working very long shifts (12 Hrs) they have managed to keep smiling at the end of the day. They have been very attentive without being in you face. We cannot fault our stay here.

What were the low lights? Drinks - tea / coffee not to our taste, though my husband did get used to the tea and I always bring coffee from home as this is usually me being picky. There was no fresh fruit juices available at all.

What can the hotel do to improve their service? A small service tray, in each appartment with a kettle, cups, tea and coffee; power points in public areas to plug / charge electrical gadgets; better wifi coverage in all appartments; reception was fine in our kids apartment facing the main block but not in ours which was on the back of the building. Fruit juice to replace the squash. Ice-ceam for the children. Increase "opening hours" even to 11pm. A lttle more enertainment! The hotel has only been all inclusive for a year, it takes time to change things.



Would we recommend the hotel to anyone - most definately. Would we come again, a resounding yes.

Hotel Reprasentative. Frankie was charming and extremely helpful. He's there if you want to book any trips or need any help with anything else - nothing seem to be too much trouble. Now he's there to make a living as well. We had to negotiate hard to get the deals that we wanted but we'd have to do the same in town. It is Turkey and barter is the name of the game. A big advantage to booking trips with him was that he was waiting in reception for every trip we booked with to ensure we had no problems (a coach didn't pick us up one morning he phoned around to sort it out). he does like you to book a visit to Murhys Bar, as do several hotel reps through out Kusadasi we foiund out. They arrange a taxi to collect and return you to your hotel (saving around 20 tl), the food is enjoyable. We even went for a mooch around town and they told us to go back when we were ready to go back to the hotel.

Trips.
Jeep safari (£16 - £20 / person). Its an all day event, trecking through the mountain trails in a small convoy, having water fights throughout the trip. At the start we were told that everyone will get thoroughly wet. The Jeeps / land rovers stopped at a place where we could buy big water soakers / guns. Needless to say, it was not long before the water was flying everywhere. It was a really good fun day out with a BBQ lunch at mid day and the obligitory splash, for everyone, into the very cold pool before the day is out.

Boat Trip (£16 - £20 / person).
Day out to 3 bays with lunch and drinks included. An hour and 15 mins out to the 1st bay, 40 mins stop for a swim in the sea, life jackets on hand for those feeling not too confident. Back on the boat, 5 mins trip around the corner to another bay and 1 Hr 40 Min stop for more swiming and lunch. Then around short trip to 3rd bay whith oportunity to ride the 'banana' boat (approximately £7 / person), pulled by speed boat.

Sea Park - full day.
Part of the Adaland complex which has two other water attractions thet we did not visit.
Large 3m deep pool for snorkelling and fish watching. Another shallower pool (less than 1 meter deep) with mantarays that you can also snorkel in and an oportunity to feed the Rays. They're lovely and will brush along your legs if you stand still. There's a chance to be lowered into a pool with sharks! I found it exciting but my husband and sons found it boring as the sharks didn't come any where near the cage. To be truthful they were only small, I think the cage was more to protect them from us.. Lazy river and some small water slides. For an extra £70 / 80 Euros / personYou can "Swim with the dolphins". We did'nt do this but looking on, it did not seem worth the price being charged. Each person gets the chance to be pulled around the pool by a dolphin (once). They also do the usual clapping fins turning and squeeking on demand. It's not something I'm comfortable with. We thought that this was only being offered in the Adaland Dolphin Park.

Ephasus - full day (£26 - £35 / person).If you go to Turkey you have to go to Ephasus!

This is a 'tacky' set up. If you have viewed the website you will see that they have represented themselves with some very clever photography which suggests the hotel has an up to date retro style. DONT be fooled!! :)

Do be put off by the four concrete blocks that make up approx 120 rooms which fully booked will house roughly 240 people. unfortunately if you are one of these 240 people you will very quickly realise that there are only 50 sunbeds ( all of which are cracked and falling apart ). Its ok though ( sarcasm ), you can pay 10tl ( at this time roughly £4 ) per person per day to visit the hotels private beach!! ( sorry, did not fall for this so cannot review what the beach was like ).

All the tables and chairs are plastic and adorned with table cloths that are rarely cleaned as stains remain from previous days. the food display tables are wonky and dressed with strange shiny pink and gold fabric which resembles carnival float skirting. Miniature cutlery and a choice of either a teaspoon or a serving spoon to eat your soup with. Eating here is worse than going back to 80's infant school dining.

Rooms are clean and tasteless. Balcony view for us was a building site. A green and pink kitchen area and matching green and pink furniture is throughout the living room and bedroom. Bathroom noises from other rooms are very loud and come through a window onto a passage through the building - i woke to someone 'squeezing one out ' one day- lovely.

Lift to out floor did not close on the inside so we could see each floor as we passed it, the lift was not deemed out of use, it was simply addresses with a small note to guests to supervise children when using the lift. Im guessing this hotel does not have insurance for the safety of its guests so watch out!!

floor tiles were very slippery. staff were distant. tall blocks blocked the sun from 5 onwards. lots of space that is not utilised in this hotel.

i would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
