I booked a weeks holiday through Thomas Cook to Hotel Villa Fortin after reading the reviews on Trip Advisor and other sites. I am a seasoned traveller and have experienced many hotels in many countries around the world. I have been to Turkey several times but this hotel was disappointing.
Room 25 is no more than a windowless cell so avoid it if you can. It overlooks the very small pool and beyond that there is a very, very noisy road with many side streets joining it. It is by no means a quiet hotel, far from it with the traffic and the mosque which is about 100 metres away and one does not get used to the call to prayer at 5am - trust me!! Take ear plugs.
The beds were made up each day granted, however I found the bed linen and bath towels to be either marked with dirt, tatty, grey and some with holes.
The beds consist of a mattress which had questionable marks on it too.
Overall the rooms are tired, they need some money spent on them as does the linen it would make a great improvement.
The breakfast was disappointing with no feta cheese, it is Turkey after all! Boriing, bland, tasteless soft cheese in a packet instead.
If you don't get out quick with your beach towel you won't get a sun lounger. Many sun loungers were left all day with a towel on it which meant others couldn't use the seats. If the owners are savvy business men then they must realise that they are missing out on income from those guests in the hotel who would like to sit around the pool and buy their food and drinks for the day there, however due to the actions of selfish people this is not the case.
I've stayed in other hotels in Turkey so I am aware of the basic and simple accommodation and know what to expect however I was disappointed with this particular hotel.
Good thing going for it - it is central and handy to centre of town, restaurants, shops, buses etc.
