“Narcia Resort Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2013

I was quite anxious about our stay at Narcia after reading mixed reviews.
I stayed here with my mother in July and was quite satisfied.
The hotel room (stayed in the main building) was spacious and comfortable, cleaned daily.
The food was brilliant, always so much to choose from (especially cakes) and was not repetitive. I also enjoyed rose wine very much and loved the a la carte restaurant.
The beach is about a 5 minute walk (you can also take the bus arranged by hotel, if you dont want to walk), and the all inclusive bar is open from 10-6 every day. There are enough sunbeds, however the hotel beach gets crowded during high season.
Also, it is true that most guests are Germans and Russians and not much staff speaks English, however this was not issue for me.

We stayed at this hotel 14 sept for 10 nights and travelled with lowcostholidays.com.
Our party consisted of 2 couples and we really enjoyed our stay. Upon late night checkin after 12 midnight reception arranged for the bar to give us refreshments from the bar which was very welcome.
We were allocated rooms in the annex part of hotel which were fine. We were allocated ground floor beside the quiet pool and our friends had a higher floor seaview.
The food was very good and we found the staff very friendly and attentative. Obviously this hotel is prominently german guests. With a mix of a few scandinavian and english. We were the only English guests during our whole stay here. But made friends with swedish, Dutch and a german couple. The only problem we had was the entertainment on first night was spoken in German. But after meeting and speaking with Jeff on entertainments team this was quickly rectified for the remainder of the holiday. To be honest Jeff then continued throughout the holiday to make a fuss of our group of friends and always involve us with whatever is going on.
So please if you go to this hotel introduce yourselves to the entertainment team as being English/Dutch/ Swedish and Im sure that they will make your stay a happy one. We also had the Manager introduce himself to us whilst we were sat having a drink one evening which I thought was a nice thought.
Although it would have been nicer to have a few more English at the hotel we still enjoyed our stay. Food, drink and room comfort were really good.
We enjoyed the beach bar restaurant, the coffee shop with the lovely cakes and gorgeous ice cream.
I would say the majority of the staffs second language is German here but some do speak good english.

The resort itself of Side is again prominently german holiday makers. It seems that the Brits are only just starting to come to this resort over the past few years. But I think as time goes on and holidaymakers realise that the hotels on this coast of turkey are a bit more upmarket than other areas of turkey I do think interest will increase.

Side town and ruins is a must to visit we visited 3 times as it cost only a couple of lira on the dolmus. Also a visit to Mangavat market Monday & Thursdays 10/15 mins on dolmus pickup on main road outside hotel.

Room Tip: request poolside rooms if you booked economy rooms these are lovely

We had an awful vacation at this hotel. The beach is about 350 away from the hotel, the rooms are dirty. The staff knew English, but did not want to speak it, only wanted to speak German- very unfriendly and ruined our trip. The maid entered the room twice even with the notice "Do not disturb". The location is not good either. We heard a dog barking from the yard during all the night and we could not sleep. You'd better avoid at all costs...

Room Tip: Just do not choose this hotel...

I stayed at Narcia (SIDE) for 7 days. The food is ok, but do not expect nothing else. The hotel is at 500-600 metres of the most crowded beach in the world. Even if the hotel has its own part of the beach, in fact it is very crowded. The staff speaks mostly German or Russian, and if you speak English of French , you will have problems with the language. Also the hospitality is not what you would expect. For example, my rented car was scratched in the hotel parking, and a need a Police-Report for the insurance. Nobody want to help me (call the police or help me with the translation). The local police (jandarma) from the small towns do not speak any language except Turkish, and I paid somebody from the street to help me with the translation. My advise: if you need to have contact with the Turkish Polis, call first your embassy or consulate.

Room Tip: Do not accept the ''Club Room''. It is near the disco, and if you want to sleep befo...

Stayed at narcia 2 weeks in April/May. This hotel was extremely good value for money for all inclusive the staff u found to be very helpful nothing was too much bother. I rarely had to order a drink at bar, the barman always seemed to bring drinks when our, glasses was nearly empty and without ordering them. ( not a complaint) the food was very good throughout our stay and loads of it anytime. Hotel was very clean and well kept the hotel location to local shops, and beach was 2 mins away. I will definitely be going to this hotel next year around same time. I had read negative reviews before going but to those who wrote these reviews all I can say is you all must be extremely hard to please. Brian Foster Northern Ireland

This hotel tries to cater in all ways for its guests. The "economic rooms" in the annexe are fine. Food is plentiful and varied, even a decent meal at the beach. A variety of bars to suit all tastes.Clean beach/pool towels every morning were welcome. Two good size pools, families with young children particularly enjoyed the main pool wth the waterslides. The bus stops are only a few steps from the hotel on the main road and are clearly marked for Side with its Roman ruins, nice harbour and good beach, and Mangavet for its good market on Mondays and Thursdays.
Note that most visitors are German but no problem there. Also the beach got crowded towards the end of our stay so Jul/Aug could be a problem.Would be too hot for us then! Take euros.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the quiet pool (the west side) are quieter in the evenings although the entertainm...

We were quite anxious about our trip after reading mixed reviews. We were quite delighted on our arrival by the welcome extended to us. The rooms although quite basic were clean and the air conditioning was great. Food was varied and there was definitely something for everyone. We loved the a la carte experience. The staff are the great strength of the hotel, always friendly and obliging. We would certainly return and recommend to others.
