“LOVELY HOLIDAY - ROOM TO IMPROVE”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013

My mum and I stayed at this hotel from 20th September for two weeks. There is not a lot to say that already has not been said. The rooms are lovely and clean nicely furnished and equipped with probably everything you need but I feel this is what you should expect from four star plus., I would comment like previous remarks how long will the nice beige furnishing stay as already there are a few marks and stains. The mini bar could be a little more stocked even with sofe drinks but we went to supermarket to make ours look a little more interesting. Anoither problem we encountered we had room overlooking pool I felt I had to compllain by the third evening as the noise levels from the lobby bar at 4.15 in the morning. I think they need some sort of management rules. People should be made to sit inside they want to stay up this late. I also feel they need some sort of restaurant manager as people were coming in at lunch time with wet swimsuits on and sitting on the lovely cushions and chairs .A lot of the people did a make an effort and looked really really glamourous. Others did look as if they came straught from the beach. Not being a prude but if people want to sunbath topless go to the beach. Not round a very small pool. If the Barut Andiz wants to stay four star plus I think it needs some organising. Also the food in the restaurant plenty of choice but I do like hot food to be hot may be a microwave may be useful. The staff made this hotel very nice I do hope they can keep them as they all work really hard. The hotel is in nice position short wak to Side town, plenty of shops and restaurants. I think the best thing about this hotel was no children for that I give it a ten out of ten. But there are other couple only hotels.

just returned from a week here at the hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and echo the thoughts of previous reviewers. Our room was really excellent, right on the sea front and lovely and spacious. As it's new, everything was still in great condition after just one season, not sure if the lovely cream soft furnishings will still look great in future years ! In this day and age of technology, the free wi-fi was brilliant...........a big bonus. They even had premier league and champions league football on a Turkish TV channel if that's your thing.

Food was buffet style and we always managed to find something really tasty to eat, a huge choice and always fresh salad available. The pool area was a little crowded, we chose the beach in the mornings and the pool after lunch, we always managed to get a pair of sunbeds in the afternoon with no trouble, and as others have said you can move them about to get more space.
Beach beds were free to use, the beach was absolutely crowded as far as they eye could see, but I guess this is a feature of Side.
Drinks were fine, maybe a little over generous with the spirits measures, but they were happy to pour a 'small' one! Good selection at both bars, with the upstairs one being slightly better in terms of quality.
We never had a problem with service, it was good during our stay , as we were only there one week and moved around the restaurant for each meal, we never had friendly waiters as such, just professional ones, which suited us fine. I guess, like other guests, if you gravitate to the same table for every meal, you will get to know the staff on a more individual basis, and this was evident.
Yes, the mini bar could have been better stocked and colder, the security on the back door could have been more consistent but this did not detract from our holiday at all
The overall thing for me and the biggest plus point was that the hotel was relatively small in terms of rooms and therefore guests, yet there was always space if you wanted it, a quiet table to enjoy a drink, a comfy sofa for a chill out, plenty of room in the sun and the shade and a lovely room to retreat to

This was our first " all inclusive" holiday, so we cannot compare it to anything else. We also didn,t really know what to expect, however my wife and I needn,t have worried. The hotel rooms are lovely and very modern. Only complaint with the rooms was, as many people have pointed out, having a mini-bar with only 2 bottles of water is a bit pointless.
The food is of a good standard, maybe not the standard of a first class restaurant, but plenty of choice for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The A la Carte restaurant is good more so because the food is obviously put down to you.
Entertainment was good, with Little Rum Club excellent. Not so good was the guy who done the pool activities who thought he was a bit of a comedian ,although he did make me laugh, but not at his humour !!
Didn,t need to worry about sun-loungers as we got two every day even though the hotel was busy. There is a good selection of all inclusive alcoholic drinks on offer. the sunset bar was underused although it has stunning views, especially as the sun is going down( hence the name !)
The hotel is very relaxing, no screaming kids ! We were very lucky we met some lovely people of all nationalities who mixed very well, but were not intrusive.
The hotel staff were wonderful, especially Halit, Alperen,Naseem, and all the restaurant staff.
Maid service was also excellent. I would definitely recommend the Barut Andiz and my wife and i would like to thank everyone for making it such a memorable holiday.Hope they don't hike the prices up !!

Room Tip: We had a room at the side of the hotel,( not a pool view) on the same side as the swim up rooms whic...

We stayed for a week from 19th September in a swim up room. Fantastic!!! No kids and great company. Hotel was spotless and nothing caused us to feel anything but welcome (only one waiter who had one bad day and was a bit short with us but hey, we just stayed and had another drink!) room wasn't massive but perfectly thought out and comfortable. The bed was so nice! Glad I didn't take my hair dryer as the one provided was just fine. Also provided were slippers, bathrobes and towels for beach and bathroom. Swim up room was amazing; to be able to get up, open the back door and get into the pool and also have a drink outside why the other half was getting ready for a night out - we felt spoilt. Great time of year to go as was between 29 & 31 degrees each day - the week before we arrived it was apparently 40 with quite high humidity. Had a great Turkish peel / massage in the spa which may have been a bit pricey but was so good! Would recommend booking and we will certainly be back!

Had eleven nights stay at this hotel, don't know what people expect for the money. My husband and I had a great relaxing time. Beautiful, clean modern hotel with respectable guests. We find that couples hotels are great. Food was plentiful and always something to choose, sometimes it could be hotter, but there is always something else to have. Drinks good and no problem with being served in restaurant and bars. We found all staff very polite and friendly. We used the spa and had the full treatment, scrub, massage and facial , yes bit expensive but nice treat. Only thing was letting people in restaurant in shorts, some looked if just come off beach others smart shorts, probably would be better if rule was no shorts. Situation of hotel is good, few shops, beach, nice promenade if one wanted a walk. Photographer was great took lovely pictures on beach at sunset, nice memories to bring home. We have stayed at couples hotels before and we had vouchers to get drinks for room, perhaps Andiz could do something like this, although not problem for us as we took drinks to room if required. Entertainment was ok, if not to your likening lobby bar is comfortable for a drink. Always sunbeds available although bit cramped, but if that was the case we just moved one out. We would recommend Hotel Andiz and would return.

Room Tip: See view or side nearest to sea.

just came back from a weeks stay, arrived about 18.00hrs and welcomed with a fruit cocktail which was refreshing.from the moment we were shown to our room (a swim up room ) the wonderful holiday started. The room was spotless and a perfect size with tv on wall a 2 seater sofa and king size bed with loads of pillows.Outside was great to have 2 sunloungers and table and chairs by the pool with lilos provided.Food quality was of a high standard for all meals with large range of variety at each sitting(will never get hungry here).Would like to give special thanks to emma the entertainment coordinator who worked her socks off each day and night.Bar staff work hard to serve all as quick as poss and are friendly.Perfect hotel for a quiet and relaxing holiday would liked to have stayed more than a week and would recommend this hotel to all

Room Tip: for that special touch have a swim up room

We stayed in a swim up room for 2 weeks from 20th August. We checked in after midnight, check in was very efficient and our luggage was taken to the room straight away.

The room was lovely, not the biggest room I’ve ever had, but it was adequate and comfortable. The most comfortable pillow I’ve ever had! The large rainwater shower was fantastic and had amazing water pressure. The room provided plenty of storage with shelving, drawers and wardrobe space, although not many hangers in the wardrobe, but I’m sure the hotel would have provided more if we had asked.

We enjoyed the quiet at our swim-up room, our room was second from the end which was a good position as we only had to nip round the corner to the main pool bar for a drink and best of all we had the sun until nearly 6pm. We had the sun on our terrace until around 2pm, at which point we moved to a lilo in the pool or over on to a sun lounger on the grass at the other side of the pool where we had the sun until the end of the day. The rooms at the top end did only get the sun on the grass at the other side of the pool until around 4.30pm.

We can’t comment much on the main pool area or the activities there as we didn’t really use it, but when we went for breakfast around 10am there were still some sun loungers available, there didn’t seem to be the usual early morning reservations of sun loungers.

As the hotel is brand new the décor was lovely and everywhere was cleaned to a high standard. I wouldn’t say it’s a 5 star, but a good 4 star. To be a 5 star I’d be looking for some drinks service around the pool and in the lounge in the evening and for the mini bar to be stocked with a least soft drinks and perhaps a few beers, especially in the swim up rooms which are further away from the bar.

The food in the Divan (Buffet) Restaurant was plentiful and varied, could have been a bit hotter at times but this tends to happen with buffets. We ate twice in the A La Carte restaurant and really enjoyed the food there. Some people say it’s the same as the main restaurant, but it’s not, certainly I had something different each time and never saw these items in the main restaurant. It’s also nice to sit and be served for a change instead of being up and down to the buffet all the time.

Service in both restaurants was excellent, waiters regularly topped up our drinks without us even having to ask and they looked after us well, in particular Mohammed Ali, who made sure we always had a nice table, always had drinks and quite often gave us a laugh as well, as did some of the other waiters.

We often had the snack menu after 2pm instead of the buffet lunch, just for a change really. I can highly recommend the pitta with lamb, when it arrived it wasn’t what I expected but it was lovely and all items from the snack menu are made fresh to order. You can also have sandwiches and cakes from the patisserie and ice cream in the afternoon, we both came home half a stone heavier lol!

The resident due The Little Rum Club were very good and as well as playing in the evenings, they sometimes played around the pool during the day. Some nights other acts were brought in to the hotel, which were good but I would have liked to have seen more traditional Turkish acts instead of more singers.

Drinks at both bars were good, service at the pool bar could be a bit slow at times but this was due to there only being 1 poor barman there all day on his own most of the time, doing his best to serve everyone and keep smiling, not easy in the afternoon when the sun is hitting him full in the face! The wine was fine, but I was a little disappointed in the cocktails, I didn’t think they were very good, very sickly sweet, even though they are not shy with the alcohol!

All staff were very good and very friendly, it was nice to meet Serkan at reception who had provided so much information for us all through trip advisor in the early days before the hotel was open, he is lovely.

We didn’t visit the spa, it looked lovely, but the treatments were expensive, as they always are in hotels.

The hotel is a 20-25 minute walk in the main town of Side but there are some shops along the way. Not as many bargains to be had as my previous visits to Turkey, prices seem to have gone up quite a bit, but still a nice town to have a wander round, lots of shops and lots of very interesting ruins in the old town.
