“Very nice venue and delicious food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2013

Very nice hotel located almost at the beach. The food facilities were very wide. Also the selection of drinks were very good. The room where we stayed was clean with nice bathroom. Balcony was nice and it had nice view over the garden and sea. Beds were not very comfortable, so the sleeping quality was not so good. This hotel focuses on mainly german visitors so everybody is speaking german. That could be kind of problem when you can´t speak this language...but I recommend this hotel. Sea and beach was clean and calm.

I never wrote any observation about hotels. But sorry in this case I would like to share with my experience and would like people know about this hotel.

Advantages:
• Really good food and drinks.
• Location is near the sea.
• Receptionist Aslan and Zubeide are very professional and they can speak Russian and English languages.
• Young animation team at least trying to make your vacation better in this place

Disadvantages:
• Old facility. Even a new building has a curtain with holes. I would post picture later. The color of curtain supposed to be white but actually they are grey. (this is not special color).
• In advertisement it says it is one the best hotels because it has a nice view to the river and sea, but if they give you room in the main building ending with *59,*61 and etc for sure you would have the best view in the whole world. It would be direct to the swimming pool cleaning system with the "nice" noise during the whole day. Nonstop music. I wanted to post video with it but the system does not allow me to do it. But if you are strong enough and can argue that you pay for the good room they would move you to another room but first they would try to show you slightly better rooms but if you would be too much aggressive as the result you would get a good number. But believe me one day of your holiday is spoiled already.
• Please remember the speed of WI-FI connection is incredibly poor. So if you go and due to your job requirements you need to connect to WI-FI you need to pay for it. And also even after you would have not excellent connections and sometime you would not have internet connection at all.
• If you decide to write any claim to the name of general manager please do not waste your time and paper save environment clean. You will never get any respond. I think we are not "respected" guests in this hotel.
• I understand that swimming pool is locating near the trees but at least once in a day they can clean it from fallen items from the tree. One child cut his foot in the swimming pool and nobody even pay attention to it.
• Even if you need just to ask for small medicine to put on your leg (if you cut it a little bit) you should to pay or you should to call to the doctor spend your insurance just to ask for a small piece of bandage. there is no person who would pay attention to it. More over doctor does not understand or speak English or Russian please be ready for it.
• Personal is polite only in the restaurant as they need to serve but if you ask somebody in the bar to bring you beer or juice during the day you would get a straight answer "take it by yourself". And at the same time you can see that they are providing such service to some "special guests"
• If you are in the ages and just want a piece rest this is the place for you, but if you want to have an entertainment again you need to speak with animation manager first and say him what you would like to see here instead of peaceful life. but thanks God at least he can react on it. This is a separate thanks to him... but again you should again waste your vacation time on it.
• This hotel is more respect people from Germany and a lot of staff speak Germany nothing against it, but they also need to remember that people from another countries are coming to this hotel as well.
• Do not try to ask even a small question from cleaning personal they would not be able to help you. (even for change the towels or something about room). You need to call directly to reception and ask them. But make sure that they understood what you want otherwise instead of sending a person who can fix refrigerator they would bring you water. 

Really I did not want to write.. but cannot keep quite as in the travel agencies they still saying it is perfect hotel.

Room Tip: Please choose the rooms in a new building.

Three of us, me, wife and little son were very glad that chose this hotel. Very gentle service. Clean and sunny room. The only disappointment was air conditioner which was not working, but overall temperature in room was low enough for comfortable feeling. 2 pools with small distance between them and beach create a great way to choose what you want right now.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013

As promised in my last review i will write a review hopefully every time i stay at a hotel and not when i have had a bad experience.

I was given a list of hotels told by a friend who is from Side but now lives in the uk and this was one of them. Availability was the factor hence why this hotel was booked.

Definitely not a 5* however a 4* would do it justice.

I was with my family, 2 young children aged 5 and 8 months.

I paid slightly extra for the room and went for the deluxe sea view, extremely spacious bedroom, and a decent size bathroom, although i think a new seal to the sides of the bath would make it more user friendly if you know what i mean, there are also plenty of lifts and stairs to get you to the main areas if like me you were placed on the higher floors.

The staff are extremely friendly and i suggest if you were to have any issues then you speak or ask for the man himself Baris he is Mr Fix It and sorted the small few issues that i had immediately. He has his desk next to the main reception area and let me assure you he did not pay me to speak good of his professionalism.

The pool i would say is a 8/10 with lots of activities and people using them although a few times we found it difficult to get a sun bed around the pool. There is also another pool with slides its fun for the kids however it is open from memory 10am- noon and from 2pm to 5pm but do clarify as i am not too sure about the times.

Do not forget to have a bite to eat at the restaurant/snack bar whilst around the pool the food is fresh and extremely tasty. Talking about the food in general i found it to be tasty and varied so extremely pleased in that department especially after the horrid experience i had in Malaga.

The beach area is excellent and literally on the doorstep i would say it took me 2 mins if that to get to the beach from the main reception area.

I loved the hammam (turkish bath) and the sauna however i was disappointed with 1 member of staff who took an offence when my wife told her the steam room was not working or switched on. We did complain and since the complaint she pulled a face every time we walked pass.

Overall a great choice and i would recommend this hotel to all readers. One thing definitely to bare in mind though the hotel is pre dominantly Russian and from personal experience don't expect anyone to say Thank You if you have the decency to be courteous in any way shape or form. It is a british thing to be a gentleman or to say Thank you and i will end with a Thank You to the hotel and the readers of this review.

Room Tip: Double or Twin Sea view

3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We, a family of 4 with children aged 5 and 2, stayed at the Club Calimera Kaya Side resort from June 9th to the 16th, 2013. The whole experience from beginning to end left plenty to be desired. The trip from the airport to the hotel takes about an hour and a half to 2 hours (depending on additional stops at other hotels). In our case, that meant that we arrived at the hotel around 10 in the evening after a 3 hour plane flight and a 2 hour house bus drive. Being a relatively late arrival, there was no food, snack, or sandwiches available at that time. We were told we could wait an additional hour and a half and soup would be served...definitely not the best way to start the experience...in all honestly, this first event colored our perception of the entire stay.

On to specifics, we were situated in one of the superior rooms in the new section of rooms facing the river. The rooms are big and relatively clean -- no major issue there. However, the air conditioning did not work at the time that we checked. We asked about why this was so, and this is where we got a very interesting answer that we were unprepared for. The hotel stated that the the central airconditioning is only on from noon to 8 PM. We were unaware of this from any of the informational pamphlets and websites that we checked. Walking into a stuffy room at 10 PM after a long trip with no chance for air conditioning was quite disappointing. Option B is usually to open a window. There was a cool breeze that was available in that regard, however along with the breeze came quite a putrid smell. Keep in mind, that we were facing the river. Around the same time each night for about 30 minutes or so that same stench was present (and it lasted for about 30 minutes). Needless to say, the first night was not memorable.

More details of the resort -- the pools are nice, not overly big, but the water temperature is great and since there is plenty of people that go to the beach, there is no problem of overcrowding.

The beach itself is adjacent to the resort grounds and very convenient. The beach has plenty of sun beds and covered areas for children to play in. The sand itself is relatively soft, some rocks near the water, but nothing that precludes children from playing. Lifeguards on duty and the beach is kept clean.

Food at the hotel was not a highlight. The buffet was pretty much the same food for the 7 day stay that we were there with very little variety in the main buffet area. The food itself was so/so at best and waqs often spicy which created difficultes while looking for food for the kids. The outside grilling area did have variety of food each night, rotating between turkey, fish, chicken for the most part.

A couple a la carte restaurants are present, we only went to the self bar-b-que restaurant. That was a nice idea and the food quality there was good in our opinion.

The animation team is small compared to some other resorts we've been at...they do the best they can to keep spirits up with the usual games. There is an amphitheater for the nightly shows. Many outside groups are brought in for night activities and they aren't bad. The bigger concern is trying to get around with 2 very young kids where the steps up are extremely steep and a bit dangerous.

Plenty of Russians and Germans...getting around with the English language can be slightly difficult, but doable.

Overall, definitely not a 5 star hotel based on the food, air conditioning policies, as well as the general slightly run down look of the resort.

Hope that helps!

Room Tip: Superior Rooms in new building annex are nice, just make sure they are not river side to avoid the n...

Just returned from an absolutely fantastic week at this hotel. Travelled in a party of 7, including 5 children aged between 10 and 16 and everyone had a great time. The hotel itself is of a very high standard, rooms very large and spotlessly clean. Although we travelled in peak season there was always plenty of space, both around the pool and on the beach. The children loved the water slides and also the location meant it was easy to flit between the pool and the beach throughout the day.

The food in this hotel was extremely good, plenty of places to eat and an incredible variety, you would be guaranteed to find some thing that you would enjoy and the availability of the food was faultless.

A particular bonus of this hotel was the staff, this includes the waiting staff, management and the animation team. All the staff work exceptionally hard, however they seemed genuinely pleased to ensure you were having a good time. We were the only English in the hotel whilst we were there, but instead of finding this a problem, we were treated like royalty and were made to feel extremely special.

All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel, there is not one thing I could criticise and very much hope to return in the future.

Just returned from a week at this hotel with 5 kids aged between 10 and 16. We had a wonderful time - largely thanks to the wonderful welcome recieved from the staff of Club Calimera. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. We were the only English but that was no problem at all for us.

Rooms were comfortable and clean as were other facilities. Plenty of sunbeds on the beach and by the pool. You could easily spend an entire week in the hotel and not get bored. The animation team work incredibly hard to keep all guest entertained. Some of the activities might not be to all tastes, and if that's the case it's easy to find one's own entertainment.

Food was abundant and varied and catered for our tastes (including one member of the party who eats a gluten free diet).

I recommend the hotel heartily and have only positive things to say about the service provided.

Room Tip: New block has better air con and rooms are appointed in a more modern style.
