We ate here three times on our last trip to Side. Absolutely delicious, authentic Turkish food every time. Mains run from about 20TL up to 32TL for fresh fish which is good enough value in itself for the quality of the food, but for that price you also get a selection of excellent hot & cold meze to start plus delicious fresh fruit and tea to finish. Honestly, you won't be able to move afterwards.
I had sea bass every time I went as it was so fresh and tasty I got a bit addicted to it. My husband tried the grilled chicken & lamb kebabs too and they were both delicious - particularly the lamb, which was utterly melt in the mouth.
The meze included Cigara Borek (little cheese pastries), excellent soups (one lamb & okra and the other lamb & runner bean), white radish, prawns, yogurt and aubergine dips, grilled vegetables, stuffed peppers and lovely fresh bread topped with a cheesy garlic spread. After all that the mains are lovely and simple but bursting with flavour. We had a nice bottle of house white each night and our bill always came to about 90TL - incredible value for the quality of food.
Emir's is in a quiet street a block off one of the main drags in the old town. Be careful you don't end up at Emir's restaurant instead, this is a different business. The location given on the map above is very accurate.
All in all you can't fault this place - the service is friendly and the pace is leisurely but the star of the show is the lovingly prepared and deliciously fresh food.
