“Great stay in a quite family run hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2012

The room was modern, air conditioned with free WiFi and a large fridge. The hotel was quite when we were there, there are bars and restaurants near by. Breakfast was basic Turkish food but I would definately go back as we love Side

Thıs cute lıttle hotel does exactly what ıt should do for ıts prıce. And a bıt more, very frıendly servıce and staff, wıllıng to help wıth everythıng! Includıng ın engagıng ın a contest on creatıve arrangıng of towels on the bed every day. We trıed but they won!

Room Tip: There ıs no proper caterıng apart from sımple breakfast but enough cheap optıons close by.

The apartment was very clean and room a good size but.....
Did not find owners friendly.Like last review unless you were Dutch they were not interested.
Were not allowed food or drink on the balcony!! Never heard anything like it...But if you hang towels up it can be done.
Was told fridge broken in room. This was just so you did not take your own soft drinks in.
The noise round the pool in early evening ridiculous, owners daughter and friends screaming and splashing for hours.
So much for a peaceful holiday..Wont be back

The accommodation is modern, clean and perfectly decent, with some cute unexpected touches like de-steaming bathroom mirrors. Now this isn’t a 4 or 5 star accommodation, but that’s totally irrelevant. If what you’re looking for is comfort and homely accommodation, this is spot on… But what steps this residence apart from any other is the husband and wife team that run it. Between them they are massively characterful and if we’re honest, two of the most entertaining, intelligent and fun people we have ever met. If you’re willing and open to having a fantastic conversation and some late night blues with charismatic and fascinating people, sit up and have a beer with Baruch. it’ll be well worth your time. P.S. If you’re German, please apologise about the bicycles and give them back [sic]. Thank you for looking after us, Tim & Hannah x x

Our stay at Sweet Home Boutique was not as good as we thought, based on the previous reviews by other holiday makers. Particularly as the previous reviews noted that the owners were friendly. However, I did not experience this with the owners I found them to be very offish with my partner and I.

However, I did observe them being very friendly with the Germans and the Dutch people and they socialised with them a great deal drinking at the bar mostly into the early hours of the morning ( noisy chatting ) . I wondered if we got the cold shoulder because we were English holiday makers.

It's not all negative feedback about this hotel the rooms were kept clean and were nice and a fair size. Beware of the balcony window as the owners do not adhere to health and safety. The patio balcony window in the bedroom did not have a sticker on the glass and I walked into it and banged my head and knee against the door. I informed the owner in a very nice manner and offered my advice by saying that she should have a sticker on the window to prevent accidents like this but she did not take this as constructive criticism or ask if I was ok.
Apart from the breakfast which was very basic the worst thing about the hotel was the noise at night which prevented us from sleeping. We were woken up by the owner’s cats fighting and screeching at 2am – several dogs in the area were barking until about 3am - the cockerel started crowing from 4am - the refuse collection lorry was like a demolition squad at 5am and lastly, at 5.40am we were called to prayer by the wailing of muessein. Therefore, we were suffering from sleep deprivation for a couple of days due to this.

Beware of your belongings
Lastly, I left a new white full length cotton dress in the wardrobe as I forget to pack in when I was leaving the hotel. I contacted the owner to ask if she could check the wardrobe and put it aside and I will collect it. She said that the cleaner had gone home and she would ask her when she comes in. I contacted her again the next day only to be told that the cleaner had put in the bin. I told her that this was unacceptable and I did not believe that a new dress could be thrown out – she was unhelpful – We will not be staying at this hotel again if it was free.

We stayed half board for one week.
Good points:
- lovely pool
- nice room with comfortable proper king size bed - no twins pushed together
- not overcrowded, had the pool to ourselves often
- clean and well maintained
- friendly, helpful owners
Bad points:
- very basic turkish breakfast, endlessly repetitive
- very poor evening meal - bland and unimaginative/little effort
- location - residential area, good 30 mins walk to Side old town BUT at least quiet and away from the Kumkoy strip

This hotel has a lot of potential with lovely poolside area where it would be nice to sit out in the evening. However, standard of food meant most guests left for the evening to dine and drink elsewhere. Also we were unable to relax on the balcony in the evening with drinks as food and drinks are not allowed in the rooms.

Overall, we weren't unhappy with the hotel as it provided what we were looking for, a restful poolside quiet break.
