“A hotel that you really have to consider good going there, unless you are from Russia.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2011

Just return back home from this hotel. I must say I'm very dissapointed. We went there with a 2 year old child.

We got a room which was situated in the hotels park and spa pool.. You wont have any sleep at night beacuse the music in park is so loud that even if you have closed door to balcony you hear everything. Horrible !!! BUM BUM !! The music is on till 02.00 - 03.00 at night !!!!
The room it self was very bad cleaned. Under the beds it was so much dust that we had to clean ourselfs. Doors to bathroom didn't close right, also the venitilator in bathroom did not work !

Restaurant is very very big. If you want to get good location of the table (near food) you have to get there at start of very meal or at the end. Food it self was not bad, but every day was the same. Nothing new, every day chicken....

Ourside pools are good, but the water is freezing cold. It had like 17 Celzius. Brrr.. even the sea water was warmer. Inside pool had warmer water but only for first 3 day's. Other day's they didn't warm up the water so it was also cold. Inside pool for children was empty. We went 2 times to reception if they could fill it up with warm water but nothing happened during our stay. Very dissapointed.

Ohh yes beach... I tell you beach is like 400 meters away from the hotel so it's a long walk there. If you forgot something at the hotel it's very very anoying walking back so long distance, especialy if you have a small child.

In hotel there are like 95% Russian guests so all the prices in hotels bazar are very high. Hotel staf (waiters, cooks) knows only russian language, english is very very poor, german is also very poor. Animation team also play's mostly russian music and songs and also very lound. I tell you, if you are not from Russia consider once more if you like to go to this hotel.

My review is that I won't visit this hotel never again in my life !!! Too much bad things.

Room Tip: Get a room which is not located on park.

Do not confuse this hotel complex with the much smaller and cheaper Selge Hotel in Side. Our transfer company A2B dropped us off in the wrong place to start with.
We were origionally booked via Hotels 4U and Directline Holidays for Majesty Club Palm Beach Hotel ( which is almost next door) but were transfered the day before depature to the Selge Beach complex.
When we eventually arrived at Selge Beach we were impressed by the size and quality of the complex, our room was clean and well appointed, the dining room and reception were very impressive and the food presentation was first class.
Because we went at the end of the season some of the facilities were no longer available and the size of the dinning area was progressively reduced during our stay.
The complex has a good sized beach area but the Beach Bar had been closed (not a problem for us but could have been for beach lovers). The swimming pools were well stocked with loungers and there were several smaller quieter pools dotted around the complex.
To run a five star all inclusive hotel must be an almost impossible task but Selge Beach comes close to achieving this. We would certainly recommend it.
Now the areas for improvement:
1) 24 television channels with NO english speaking stations.
2) All inclusive with NO white wine available in the restaurants.
3) Restaurant tables not properly relayed for second sittings particularly for dinner.

Other than the above it was great!

Just returned yesterday from our first holiday to turkey, what a fantastic time we had at this hotel! The staff made our stay very enjoyable, they all work so hard, all the bar boys were friendly, helpful and simply couldn't do enough for you. The chef was such an accomodating lovely guy, his name i'm ashamed to admit I did not capture, his food was fantastic, the best hotel food I've ever tasted, it's a shame the hotel isn't all inclusive!!! Good value for money too. We did want to try other establishments nearby for food&drinks but found ourselves eating and drinking there most of the time because you are always guaranteed delicious meat, veg, salads, seafood, all at a very good price! Efes beer 3 lira a go, you can't go wrong! The little hotel bus takes you to the beach which is 5 minutes away or a 20 minute pleasant walk...the main resort of side is a 5 minute cab ride or a half hour walk..... The ladies of the night seem to have a regular spot nearby the hotel, we just found that added to our evenings entertainment watching the antics out of them!! Air conditioning £20 per week we found very useful. Late checkout fee£15, again we found useful. The only criticism we had was the cleaning of the rooms... Don't get me wrong, very clean when we arrived, but the sink&shower could have been cleaned more thoroughly while we were there... The towels have definitely grown out of their whiter days & are now an older shade of grey & could do with being replaced.... Will deffo go back & highly reccomend this hotel if u want good food, good service & a good laugh!!!
