“Really good all round value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2011

This was my very first trip to Turkey, and I don't think we could have stayed at a better hotel. Staff bent over backwards to give us excellent service, the food was very good and varied, OK, no full English breakfasts, but so what ? I don't go overseas to eat the same old junk as at home !
The all inclusive bar could have had a slightly larger range of drinks but this is really nitpicking. The hotel has a weekly competition to name the best member of staff,. . . not possible to choose as they were all superb, and in most cases never stopped smiling.

The free shuttle to the centre of town and Dakapo Beach club was really useful and ran until 11 PM, beach super clean and safe for bathing. Drinks from the beach club are not included, but not over expensive. Wife was really pleased to receive her beach coffee with her name written in chocolate on the top !

Although Turkey isn't in the Eurozone, everything in the shops is priced in Euros. This isn't a problem as you can pay in USA Dollars, Pounds, or even...Turkish Lira !!

The hotel is around 2-5 Km inland, but the area is quite flat and only 15 a minute stroll into the centre area if you don't want to bother with the shuttle. Terrific shopping in the evenings in the endless open mall. Big weekly market in the town centre for your tee shirts and turkish delight !!

We have decided to go again next year, they offer an airport pickup from Antalya FREE if you ring the hotel before you fly, they take you back too at the end of your stay.

We were told that the area is very popular with Russian travellers, and this is true, but we never had a problem other than being resoundly beaten at Chess six times ( ! )

We did have a couple of rather rainy days so rented a car. My advice on this subject is, unless you are a racing driver with nerves of steel, DON'T. All Turkish road vehicles have the turn indicators disconnected at the factory. ( ! )

We are going to book shortly for a TWO Week stay.

Just got back from a weeks all inclusive at the Grand Viking Hotel in Kemer, our first time in Turkey. The hotel was so clean, our room was absolutley spotless and a nice size, we had a nice view overlooking the mountains and didn't have a single problem with the room throughout the whole stay. I had previously read some reviews about the food being repetitive and a lack of choice but I found that there was something really good to eat each day, plenty of salads, rice & chicken etc. If you like to eat chips, pizza etc everyday you will be dissapointed but why would you expect that in a Turkish Hotel anyway?
The hotel is quite small but in a lovely setting with a good size pool which was always clean and a poolside bar serving drinks until 11pm.
A free shuttle bus service is provided by the Hotel which runs to the beach and town centre throughout the day and evening, we used this a couple of times but once we worked out the best route we could walk to the town and beach in 10 minutes anyway.
The hotel has it's own little stretch of beach which is lovely and the water was so warm! You don't have to pay to hire sunbeds but the hotel doesn't provide drinks or snacks at the beach. We booked a boat trip which cost us £13 each (they were happy to accept Lira, Euros, Dollors, Sterling!). There is a booth near the Supermarket at the beach which is where we booked ours, much better value than using the reps at the hotel. Great value as we were out on the boat all day and lunch was provided.
There was not much in the way of entertainment at the hotel but were quite happy to walk into the centre in the evenings where there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
This hotel was such good value for money and Kemer itself is aboslutely lovely, a fab holiday!

I have recently returned from a weeks all inclusive stay at the grand Viking. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel clean and tidy, however we found the food to be repetaive after the first few days and the hot selection was never hot. We were also very dissapointed at the 'all inclusive' drink selection. . . . Beer, gin, vodka, coke, lemonade fanta and wine (vinegar). Having stayed in many other places I have never had such limited choice.

This hotel was very clean and we thought the food was plentiful and very decent. We have stayed in the 5 star Dedeman in Antalya before and the food was a good here as it was there. There was always enough. The staff went out of their way to make sure that we had everything we needed. Gozleme is served during the day which was fresh and delicious.
Although the hotel is not in the centre of Kemer, it is not a long walk, and their is a frequent, free shuttle service from the hotel.
The beach area where the Grand Viking have rented sunloungers etc was nice.
I am mostly concerned about the safety aspect with a toddler when I go anywhere, however the bathrooms had large, non-slip bath mats and the balconies were large and had a wall rather than railings.
The only reason I have not given this hotel a rating of 5 is because it does not have the facilities and some of the bedroom carpets could do with being updated. I felt it would have been good if the food was a bit more varied (although no complaints about it, most of my favourite Turkish food was served).
The playroom was a godsend and my little boy loved playing with others there.
I thoroughly enjoyed my two weeks at the Grand Viking Hotel!!

This hotel is very clean as is kemer as a whole!! It's located within ten minutes walk of the town and 10-15 min of the beach. They do run a free bus/10 seater every hour to the beach and townfrom reception. The pool is a fair size nice view of mountains if pool side like myself. Food decent enough if u not a burger and chips eater (if u are why bother going away). Lots of rice chicken cous cous and salads kofte ect!! It's not luxury but decent ! thumbs up for the money

I dont know what standards these people are used to that have wrote previous reports but i work for a world wide travel agents and i am a frequent visitor to turkey alone and this is by far the worst hotel out of the 8 times i have visited.
Bed bugs found in room, dirty pools with bateria build up round edges, food terrible not even warm, 2 nights a week entertainment, carpets in room dirty and frayed, kids club in a bad condition, pool area fitted with green astro carpet type which was dangerous and never cleaned in my 2 week stay, i never saw the pool cleaned, my partner and son both had bad viral and ear infections, potenailly caused by the pool water, sun loungers had mould growing on the bottom and the cushions were dirty. The staff were not even happy, and i was given a massage by someone not trained who left me with a migrane and now receiving treatment back home!!!!!!! Baby pillow was found dirty when i took pillow case off. Not very good location taxi or bus into town or beach
