“Fantastic Hotel, Excellent Service, Amazing Surroundings”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2011

We stayed a week here in Cirali at the Azur Hotel and it was a wonderful experience. In fact, we are already planing how we can manage to get back . The surroundings are beautiful, set in lush tropical gardens with fruit trees and plenty of shade. The service was outstanding. The team could not have done more to make our stay comfortable. And the beach is truly spectacular- only issue is the lack of shade but this applies to all the sunshades, not a fault of this hotel which provides beach towels that you can use to get extra shade if necessary.
Trips to nearby sights were also worthwhile, the flames of the chimera and the ruined city of Olympos. Great place for couples, kids - in fact anybody seeking a totally chilled out holiday.

We spent a wonderful week at the Azur Hotel for the last week of August. Our experience was different from that described by the previous reviewer - it was kind and helpful. The breakfasts were good and certainly enough for us - and we arent small eaters. The hotel lent umbrellas for the beach, gave us sausages to toast when we were going for a walk up the Chimera and were generally great.

The garden lodges are really magical set in wonderful gardens full of animals and butterflies and birds - only 8mins to the beach.

The sea is the best i have swum in for years and years - clear and calm and warm. Where we do agree is that the shade is not enough for the hottest time of year - but thats the case for all shade on the beach (which is standardised) not just that at Azur.

Best tip - bring a single cotton sheet with you (with elastic) to go over the top of the umbrella and a cheap sarong to hang up - and voila - shade all day.

We will be back if we can - it was lovely - oh and the airport transfer worked well.

Finally - food in town is lovely - eat pancakes and you will not only be full of great turkish food but also still have money in your pocket for a fresh pomegranate juice!

Room Tip: In the agrden lodges there is a sliding part door between rooms - not a full door - so you need to...

Frankly I booked this hotel for two reasons. One was that it was a local family running the place over a couple of generations. Second was the good reviews it had received here. The hotel has a wonderful setting, logs that are good for relaxing and privacy yet the whole experience can be ruined by the hotel service and management. The breakfast that is included in the price is very limited. The portions are small and when you ask for more bread they might bring you 2 slices (for 4 people!!!) or if you ask for more yogurt, you might receive curious looks from your waitress who asks whether it is for the person that has not had used their "right of yogurt" yet. The hotel is full of orange trees, and ripe oranges constantly fall on the ground, but they dont even serve you fresh orange juice. They use concentrated juices instead.
If you have children and they stain bed sheets with sunscreen, you might get stopped by the cleaning maid on your way to your cabin asking you to stop staining the bed sheets and spraying your son in the balcony so as not to damage the linens in the room!? When you complain to the manager about this issue, he might very rudely reply by asking you to pay for the sheets. However, if you are constantly at the hotel premises and are constantly ordering 'extras' that are ridiculously overpriced, then you might probably get a better treatment from the staff. It is quite unfortunate that these people have no understanding that certain guests in the hotel may actually be families on a budget. Overall, I was not happy with the treatment from the staff. Beware if they ask you to stay there half-board. We tried it two nights, and even though the food was good quality, because they dont serve you drinks (not even water), it becomes a bit costly in the end. We ended up trying some local places and were very pleased with the food and it becomes much much cheaper this way.
Another problem in this place is the beach. Even though they tell you that you get shades and sunbeds, the shades is very very inadequate for the 40 degree weather. With children it's impossible to stay in the beach for so long. When you ask for more shade, they look at you with blank eyes. It's really unbelievable! There are really better places along the shore closer to the carettas. Because we had payed upfront, we didnt have a chance to go somewhere else but they looked really nice and closer to the beach. I do NOT recommend Azur hotel/

The hotel is located in a wonderful park, where you can take your breakfirst, explore lots of different plants, or just leisure, read a book under palm-trees or let your children play with cats, dogs and rabbits.
Youre living in extreme clean and comfort bungalows or appartements, only 5 minutes by feet from the wonderful beach. The hotel-people are extreme friendly. Hotel Azur is very familiar and if you will visit it, you surely will come back again.

We spent 5 wonderful and relaxing days in the Azur Hotel in Ciraly. What a fantastic place! We stayed in a spacious wooden lodge in the middle of the huge beautiful garden. The standard of the garden lodge is excellent. We especially liked the well-designed bathroom and the very fast wireless connection. We felt like in a tropical oasis - the trees were full of oranges and tangerines, there are a lot of palms, colourful flowers... The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is a very short walk from the hotel to the clean, not crowded beach. Our days in Cirali started always with a delicious breakfast inside the garden - just like in heaven! We will definitely spend another holiday in the Azur Hotel in the near future!

When I planned the trip and read the reports here I met the definition 'Paradise on Earth" and considered it as an overstatement. On spending 5 days there now I can say that it is true. The personnel is hospitable . We lived in the garden lounge, that consists of separate comfortable houses that gives you feeling of privacy. The houses are in the nice fruit garden. Sometimes we met hens or gooses and in the evening we even saw a hedgehog. It is so relaxing for the people who lives in the big city. I do not know how the personnel manages it but I did not hear cockcrow before 8 a.m! That domestic birds sometimes entertained us by their behaviour. In the other part of the garden there are wonderful oriental style pavilions with pillows. The breakfast is Turkish , just as I liked. Also it was very good for me that at any time you may come there and drink a cup of tea. The location of the hotel is very good. If you wish to go the centre of Cirali you go out near reception, if you go the the sea beach another exit is available. Anyway the walk is among friut trees so even I can not say how much time we needed for going to the sea beach because it was a pleasure. The hotel is not too far from Olympos ruins and I think it is not far from Chymera( we had no time for detailed investigation how to walk there and took the car for going to the foot of the mountain). So I am very glad that I chose the hotel for the holidays in Cirali.

We spent two nights at the Azur. The attentive staff and beautiful surroundings made for our most memorable experience during our 10 day trip to Turkey. Ahmet and his staff care deeply about providing a terrific experience for each guest.

On our first night, we arrived very late after a long, exhausting flight to Antalya. Upon our arrival at 4am, Ahmet was waiting for us and carried our bags to our room. The following morning we woke up late (past standard breakfast hours) to find that the staff had kept two place settings for us and prepared a full breakfast. While eating, we were bothered by some bees and Ahmet came over to swat them personally. After breakfast, a member of his staff walked us to the beach (about 10 min.), and ran back to the hotel to grab some towels for us after she realized we had forgotten ours. This level of service was upheld during our entire stay.

As for the accomodations, the bungalows were spotless and comforable, and it was wonderful to wake up and walk through the garden to breakfast and/or the beach. We had dinner there and the meals were excellent. The beach was a short but beautiful walk. If I ever go back to the Turkish coast, I'll set aside plenty of time for the Azur.
