“Great Value, Limak Class Confirmed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 11, 2013

I am bored with reading lengthy pretentious reviews, So I will stick to the facts. As a family we have stayed in the Limak Arcadia last year and was interested in how the Limra would compare.

Pluses
For £2800 for a family of four enjoying two weeks stay in a 4-5 Star Resort equates to 9 Star Value. The Service and enthusiasm of the Staff is excellent, special mention to Saydar, Ismail, Govan on the various excellent bars and to Ikan (animation) and Dennis on the Front Desk.

Room in Garden was fine, spacious, cool and quiet in convenient location. The Hotel facilities are well documented and encompass everything a family could want for an active holiday. Taking two boys we enjoyed the well kept small sided football pitch every day along with all the activates.

Food in Buffett is adequate and offers good choice, the ala carte experience is preferred and we enjoyed this 6 days from 14 with the BBQ being the favourite.

Pools – Truly vast with room for swimming and playing, and were much bigger than the Arcadia, Water slides (6) were great for younger kids

Average.
Entertainment – as the production needs to be translated into four languages this can stretch concentration and was not quite the quality of the Arcadia, the music parties were impressive and great fun however.

Negatives – A min of 50% of the Guests are Russians and there were occasions over the holiday when they would be rude to other guests and the staff and not always be inclined to join the small queues, we did meet some charming ones however. Think the Hotel should make it clear to ALL guests that they need to respect others and queue when required. The Staff generally would serve the pushy ones which was frustrating.

Overall – Would recommend the Limak Limra for a high quality family holiday in the Sun. The Turkish people (guests and tourists) are warm and welcoming.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 9, 2013

We, a family of 4 (kids 6 & 8) have previously stayed at the Lara Beach, Royal Wings and Baia Lara (all Lara Beach), and The Royal Dragon ( Side). Those in my opinion were all Turkish 5 star, the Limak Limra is a good steady 4. However we paid about 20% less than those mentioned, so the Limak Limra does offer good value for money. We came for 2 weeks and booked every thing separate through 2bookaholiday. The flights were with Thomas Cook and the transfer with A2B. The transfer was a straight forward cab journey taking about an hour. By doing it this way we managed to keep the cost down instead of going through a traditional travel agent.

One thing we were a bit worried about was getting allocated a room at the Limak Club hotel over the road. We had read reviews on trip adviser where people had booked promo rooms only to find that they were then sent over the road. We had paid £1 extra a night for a side sea view room, and were delighted to get a full sea view room on the 6th floor of the main building. A nice sized room with a large bathroom, well stocked mini bar and large tv, but no English channels. The rooms were made up everyday, and the maids left a Limak puzzle and kids magazine for my daughter. Nice touch.

The hotel site is massive, much larger than anything i've been to before and takes a bit of getting used too. It feels more like a resort than a hotel. The main 2 pools are very large. One where most of the pool games are and is by far the noisiest. The 2nd large one includes the water slides. These are great fun and well manned by attentive and friendly life guards. The areas around the pools are not washed down every night so can feel a little unkept at times, plus a few tiles are cracked with the odd weed poking out. There is also a pool in the garden rooms area which provides a nice quiet getaway, however during our stay they put up signs saying it was now an adult pool although this didn't seem to be enforced. The indoor pool looked very nice, and also the pool at the Limak Club Hotel was a pleasant surprise. Immaculately kept with a small bar and snack restaurant. Around the 2 main pools there's more than enough sunbeds to go round, but certain areas around the kid bits/slides you need to put your towels on sun beds way before 7 to guarantee your chosen shaded spot. Even then you're likely to come back from breakfast and find a Russian's nicked your sunbed and removed your towels!

The hotel is filled with about 80% Russian, 10 % Turks, with the rest made up of English, Germans and the rest of Europe. It does feel like mini Russia at times. The Russians in general are just rude and miserable looking. They have a tendency to just barge pass, and try to push in where possible. To be fair to the bar men they generally tell them to queue.

The Kids club is very well run and is the biggest and best i've ever seen. They monitor the kids in and out. They have a full list of activities planned every day, painting, drawing, face painting, pool games, water polo, Indian day, pirate day, parrot show, even a BBQ. The lady who runs it, Sibel speaks perfect english. She's ably assisted by 5 others. This includes a guy called Ali whose an absolute legend, who makes the kids club what it is. He just encourages kids to get involved and always has a smile and words (speaks great english too) for everyone. The mini disco in the evening is brilliant whatever language you speak. It actually feels like a big event every evening with presentations after.

The 2 main Restaurants have good selections. The main Thallos restaurant has an indoor and outdoor section with some show cooking including an Indian guy doing authentic Indian dishes. People wait for this to open and rush to get an outdoor table. You do tend to have to grab a table and your own cutlery at times and getting drinks can be a bit of a problem too, best to go and get your own. The Olympos restaurant downstairs is all indoor and is a lot smaller with a smaller selection of food, however it is nicer in appearance and a lot quieter. During our stay they put up a sign saying this was adults only, although this wasn't enforced and later removed.

Of the Al-carte restaurants, we tried the Chinese and BBQ ones. Both had a cover charge
of 5€ per person. The Chinese was a little disappointing, the aromatic duck had no pancakes and rest of the food was similar to the main restaurants. Also they had no children's menu. The bbq one was superb. Set in an area overlooking the sea you could choose whatever meat you wanted and just get on with it within a nice atmosphere. We also tried the Turkish one where there is no cover charge, this was very good with lots of food!

The 2 snack bars are pretty average with pizza, meatballs, pasta, salads etc... The Galata one is slightly better in more secluded and quieter surrounding. The Lykia one near the Amphitheatre is a bit more busier and a little untidy. There is also a Gozleme snack bar that does freshly prepared to order (although a bit slow) Turkish breads which make a nice alternative. In the main building is a nice street cafe with lots of nice cakes, coffee and ice cream.

Bars: the Lobby bar was our favourite, you got served straight away no problem. This has an indoor and outdoor section. The one near reception was also quite nice and quiet. They have a cocktail list with a few favourites. There is a sparse waitress service, but it is just quicker to get your drinks yourself. The bar around the Amphitheatre area could get very busy in the evenings with large queues, but they did seem to get people served quite quickly. The Beer Garden is a nice area to chill out in the evening, it's a shame there's not more tables and chairs there.

The evening shows were pretty good. Some were brought in, and there were some interesting dance shows by the animation team including the Lion King, Aladdin and a surreal X-factor style show.

The shops in the complex are just ridiculously over priced. Just walk over the road to the parade of shops by the Limra Park entrance. For example a water gun that was 6€ was 2€ and an inflatable ring was 8€ instead of 15€. They also have a lot of good fake t-shirts and football shirts there too, and you can knock them down by about a third.

The Beach is just stoney, so really pointless if you have children. This really does let the hotel down, however it does has a nice decked pier with sun beds for sun worshipers. It also has all the usual watersports there.

Would I come here again? The kids would just for the slides and the kids club (and Ali). Despite a very enjoyable stay, i found just a bit too big. I would only come back if i was looking for a cheap week away, probably out of season. The hotel felt like a 'little russia' at times with an odd atmosphere, and I can imagine it getting very crowded in high season. Don't get me wrong I'm not one who has to be where all the English are, totally the opposite, but if you can afford the extra, head for the Lara beach hotels, or the Royal Dragon at Side where the quality is a step up and there is a little bit more of a personal touch.

Room Tip: Make sure your not in the Limra Club Hotel over the road

As we pulled up to this hotel me and my partner were very excited it looked amazing! We were first greeted by the bell boy who took our bags from us as we made our way to the reception to check in everything seemed really nice we couldn't believe it, however until we checked in and was told by the man at reception that we were in fact staying in the hotel over the road!! Which might I add is far worse than a travel lodge! The room was tiny, tiny balcony, it was awful, it was about a 5 min walk away, also on the way back was uphill which would of been ok for us as 22 year olds but we'd met another English family there and 3 of them were pensioners and they found it very difficult getting to and from the hotel, we were very disheartened considering we'd rocked up to this amazing hotel that we couldn't wait to get into, anyway we decided to go and ask if we could be moved into the main building they told us this was possible but would cost €30 a night which ended up costing us just under 200 English pounds for the week, which I think is very unfair of them, considering none of this was mentioned to us at the time of booking which I suppose isn't limak Limra's fault but I feel it was a bit of a rip off! But once we'd moved to our new room in the main hotel the room was absolutely huge! And the holiday just went uphill from there the beach was lovely the pools were amazing, especially the quiet pool, the food was lovely particularly pizza's and pasta at lunch times, most of the staff were very friendly, not as friendly as other hotels I've been to in turkey but it didn't really bother us. The hotel was full of Russians, and most of these were very rude, in the evenings there was a queuing system for the bars which you would wait 10-15 mins sometimes more to get a drink but I think some of the Russians don't know how to queue and were just pushing in which was annoying, sometimes the bar staff would tell them to wait other times they'd completely ignore the fact you were standing there and just serve them. We found out whilst we were there that it was in fact Russia week? So perhaps that's why there were a lot of them there, we only spoke to 2 other English groups whilst we were staying here. Over all we did have a fantastic time and the entertainment in the evenings was brilliant! Although I'm not sure I'd return, I never normally have a bad word to say about any of my holidays and feel like a bit of a moaner on this review but I'm really not a fussy person and normally make the most out of any situation which I did during our stay here and if you can do that too then the good things of this hotel will outweigh the bad, but like I said I won't be returning :(

We travelled to the Limak Limra at the beginning of April and having read previous reviews, were confident that the hotel would live up to expectations. And it did.

This is a large, sprawling hotel, and on arrival, we did struggle to find our room! However, once we arrived at our garden room in an annex near a smaller quiet pool, we relaxed immediately. The room was a very good size, had all the mod cons you could need, a good sized balcony, was in a quiet spot, and best of all, the mini-bar is complimentary for All Inc. customers (although stocked once a day....so don't get over excited!). The house keeping was excellent and we appreciated some special touches (towel art!).

The quiet pool near our room was, in fact, a real find. It has its own bar area and fridge stocked with sandwiches and fruit, as well as drinks. This is also a part of All Inc. On our last day, we were the ONLY people at this pool and it was a welcome break from the large family friendly pool.

The grounds of the complex are spotlessly clean, lush, and very relaxing. The trees are home to some large lizards, the ponds have tens and tens of frogs, and there are a few friendly cats who seem to have taken up residence! The backdrop of the mountains is lovely, and in April there was still a lot of snow at the summit. The large pool (with the slides), was indeed huge! The water was very cold, however, which did stop a lot of people from swimming. The smaller quiet pool, I can tell you, was warmer! Of course, this was April, so I'm sure the water gets water as the season progresses. As an adult, the life guards had no problem with me using the slides, as I did, and they were a bit of fun! This was also a good way of getting into the water (ie, there was no choice come the end of the slide!).

The food was, on the whole, excellent. There is a lot of variety; just make sure you look inside the restaurant, as well as outside, as some stations are hidden quite well! There is also a restaurant downstairs which is much more pleasant, with an outside area, and is quieter. Some of the a la carte restaurants were closed as we went out of season, but the Turkish one was open and well worth a visit. There is also a cafe which serves pastries, coffee and ice cream on tap, again, included with All Inc. The beach bar is great for cocktails and refreshments, again, All Inc. I can safely say this was one of the best All Inc resorts I have visited; the choice is excellent, as is the quality, and I really like that there are fridges placed all around with bottles of water kept cool for guests to help themselves to. Great!

The beach was a bit of a let down. It's not the pretty to be honest. However, the hotel staff did their best to make it look appealing. Having been to Olu Denis in Turkey, maybe I was a bit spoilt previously! The large pools make up for it.

The staff are professional, work hard and look after you well. The entertainers do their job well, although we were happy to do our own thing.

The hotel is located in a quiet area, pleasant enough, but not much to see or do unless you get a shuttle in the town or go on an excursion. The whole beach front leading to the small peninsular where the Magic Life hotel is situated is not overly appealing, but as I have said, the hotel complex makes up for this.

Weather:

This was our main concern. What would the weather be like in April?! Well, I can say that for 6 days out of the 7, we had plenty of sunshine and warmth (the warmest day was 26 degrees celcius, the coolest about 19). One day was very cloudy and only 16 degrees; most people stayed inside or went to the indoor pool. We were pleasantly surprised on the whole and got a good tan :) We are used to travelling to Turkey in August, so the contrast is noticeable, but the weather was still better than most of Europe.

In short, if you want a relaxing holiday in a secluded location, you might like the Limak Limra. We wanted for very little and spent next to nothing!

Room Tip: The rooms directly around the quiet pool are lovely...set in a nice quiet part of the hotel and very...

Had an amazing week there! Was my second visit to Limak Hotel! Will definitely stay there again!

Food was very nice, great choice and staff was very sweet. Animation was good, evening shows were also great! Room service was provided on a daily basis.

My cousin was absolutely happy with the SPA salon!

Sadly the beach was a shingle one, therefore I had to enjoy my suntan at the poolside :)

Room Tip: Fame Garden is the best choice if you need a quiet relaxing stay, the pool is 10m walk from the room...
