“Really nice hotel in a nice town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

We had three nights here as part of a roadtrip along the southern Turkey cost. Kas was a great place to stop for a little while - a nice buzzy town and lots of things to do nearby. We'd recommend Patara Beach, Pamakuke Beach, the Saklikent Gorge and sea kayaking at Kekova.

Many of these were recommendations from the owner of the hotel who was really helpful and also arranged the kayaking for us.

The hotel was really nice. The highlight is the roof terrace with amazing views over the bay where you can go for cocktails before going out for dinner. The staff and general atmosphere were very relaxed and friendly.

We'd definitely recommend.

Room Tip: We were in the honeymoon which was lovely with a sitting room and jacuzzi bath and worth the extra c...

We've just had the most fantastic 2 week holiday in Kas and we stayed at the Hideaway before and after renting their superb penthouse apartment across town for a week. We cannot thank Ahmet, Marie and all the staff enough, they really went out of their way to make our first family holiday in Turkey really special. The rooms are clean, bathrooms spotless and even when it was 40C outside the aircon soon had the room comfortable.

The rooftop terrace and the views are amazing, breakfast is a real feast of fresh fruit, yoghurt, cheese, eggs (cooked any way you like) and toast with just about every kind of spread you can think of – we tended to opt for the local honey which was beautiful. Fresh juice or smoothies are extra at breakfast but we just factored that into our 'real' room rate which was still fantastic value.

We booked trips to Saklikant and Kekova through the hotel – they know the best companies to use and we can highly recommend both trips. They were both fun packed days and when we got back to the hotel the roof terrace was a perfect place to enjoy the breeze and watch the sun set over the amphitheatre with a happy hour mojito before tucking into some of the finest home cooked vegetarian food we have ever eaten from the mezze / buffet – the selection is amazing and different every night but we could never resist adding barbecued fish or chicken once the aroma of hot charcoal drifted across the terrace. Our daughter is going to miss her new Turkish friends on the roof – they even made her alcohol free cocktails so she didn't feel left our during happy hour!

The best bit of advice the hotel gave us was to take the water taxi to Limanagzi beach. The hotel even provide beach towels and snorkelling gear. We had a late flight home and after a last trip to Nuri's beach bar we were able to use the pool and shower at the hotel before our taxi picked us up.

If we could give a rating of 6 we would!

This is the third time over five years we have stayed at the Hotel and it does not disappoint. The views from the terrace are so calming. We enjoyed sitting out playing 'back gammon' until late at night. The staff very friendly without being overpowering, breakfast is plentiful and dinner on the terrace is relaxing.
The rooms are small which is not really a problem, the atmosphere is more important. This time we did find it a squeeze travelling with teenage daughter in a family room, but we coped, shower was the best we have had in Turkey, the bathroom was decorated with a contemporary feel.
We will return again we are sure!

My wife and I stayed 5 nights in Kas at the Hideaway and loved it. At first we considered a little more of a "luxury" hotel but decided on hideaway because of the price and good reviews. I am so glad we did!

Some people have left reviews that they had small rooms but ours was actually a generous size. The rooms and bathrooms are very clean and the AC is great to come home to.

The hotel is at the top of a hill but I didn't think the walk was that bad. The hill is worth it though for the rooftop terrace view.

The culture of this place is fantastic. It attracts a certain kind of client and we made a lot of friends who we'd sit and talk with over coffee until late hours on the roof with. The staff is equally pleasant.

I was really happy with the quality of the food and the price. They are cheaper or equal to good places in town and could definitely get away with charging more (but don't) so we ate dinner here every night. Their lunch menu is a little light though and I recommend the chicken over the meat balls in terms of quantity.

The lemon bar nearby is a good place for swimming. If you wanted you could spend the whole day there and only need to pay for a bottle of water. It feels like an extension of the hideaway.

Do you like a laid back vibe, good people, great views, and easy access to the water? This is your place.

This laid back hotel matches the laid back, friendly energy of Kas.

My husband and I stayed for 5 days. The rooms are small but tidy. If room size is important to you, then stay elsewhere. I didn't come to Kas to stay in my hotel room, however, so this didn't bother me.

As many others have said, the best part is the roof deck. The views from it are tremendous.

The home-cooked dinners are tasty and a good value (18 T.L. per person).

Staff are friendly, though I got the feeling that some of them are tired or bored of their jobs. This is probably a simple reality of working in 'hospitality,' though.

I think that this is probably a great place to stay with a family, though we stayed here as a couple.

You can borrow snorkeling equipment, which is awesome.

I would stay here again.

So, the hotel rooms themselves are only okay in this hotel. Nothing fancy, what you'd hope for in your own home. Small room, a bed, and a well-kept bathroom. Very clean, hot water, and a good value for the price.

So why'd I rate this place 5 stars with rooms that don't sound fantastic? The staff and the terrace were AMAZING.

The staff were very friendly. They said the owners don't allow you to bring your own drinks onto the terrace... but then snuck us some glasses for our liquor. We had bought 10 bottles of beer each in 2-3 days anyway, as well as countless smoothies and dinners, so we appreciated their recognition of this. They were just the nicest hotel stuff I've ever met and sat down and had a drink with us at the end of the night.

The dinners were fantastic. Seriously. Make sure to get the dinners at this hotel. Best dinner I had in Turkey, by far. The food is homemade and delicious, and is buffet style.

And finally, the terrace. It has the most beautiful view of Kas of anywhere I went in the city. It overlooks a Greek island in the distance and the bay that Kas sits on. It also overlooks the town itself. I can honestly say it was one of the top two views in all our time in Turkey. Three people in our group tell me, 3 months later, they still think of that view, and sipping on a cold beer in the shade of the terrace.

So go. You won't have any regrets. The hotel can also arrange tours for you.

Room Tip: Probably try to stay in lower rooms. We couldn't hear people on the terrace from the third floor...

Just spent two wonderful nights at the Hideaway. A 5 minute steep (but easily manageable with wheeled suitcases) walk from the bus station. We arrived prior to check in time and our room was not ready so we were shown up to the roof terrace and a very helpful staff member pointed out attractions we could visit including free beaches. Had a very welcome cold beer ( they operate an honesty system during the day for drinks from the fridge).

Our room (103) was on the first floor. No real view to speak of (a glimpse of the pool but mostly just a neighbouring building) but we had only booked a standard room. Room had recently been repainted and bathroom which was fully tiled appeared to be brand new. Nice balcony with 3 rows of wire and thoughtfully provided pegs to hang washing above the balcony railings. We had booked a double room and it was 2 single beds made up with single bed linen pushed together. Only issue with the room was that it was very small ( our smallest to date in our travels through Turkey) meaning that storing 2 suitcases was a problem. There was no mini fridge in the room which the majority of our similar star rated hotels have had.

Pool was good and was rarely utilised by guests during our stay.

Best thing about this hotel is their large roof top terrace with amazing views over the harbour and to the Greek island of Meis . From 5pm to 7.30pm it is happy hour on the terrace and they make a mean margarita. Cool music played and very relaxing at the end of the day to sit with a cocktail. Breakfast served on roof top terrace and is very good with plenty to choose from. Eggs are cooked to order and smoothies, espresso etc, and freshly squeezed orange juice available to buy. A vegetarian buffet is also available in the evening at 18TL with BBQ chicken, fish or beef an extra 5 TL. We did not have an evening meal here.

The only thing we found puzzling with the roof top terrace area was that they removed the jug and tea and coffee making facility at 6pm each night. I'm not sure why as our other hotels have had the facility for guests to make hot drinks anytime. It is not because they needed the room to set out the vegetarian buffet.

Staff and owners are very helpful and friendly and owner even offered to drop us at the bus station the morning we left.

Room Tip: If your budget allows it sea view room would be fantastic
