Just spent two wonderful nights at the Hideaway. A 5 minute steep (but easily manageable with wheeled suitcases) walk from the bus station. We arrived prior to check in time and our room was not ready so we were shown up to the roof terrace and a very helpful staff member pointed out attractions we could visit including free beaches. Had a very welcome cold beer ( they operate an honesty system during the day for drinks from the fridge).
Our room (103) was on the first floor. No real view to speak of (a glimpse of the pool but mostly just a neighbouring building) but we had only booked a standard room. Room had recently been repainted and bathroom which was fully tiled appeared to be brand new. Nice balcony with 3 rows of wire and thoughtfully provided pegs to hang washing above the balcony railings. We had booked a double room and it was 2 single beds made up with single bed linen pushed together. Only issue with the room was that it was very small ( our smallest to date in our travels through Turkey) meaning that storing 2 suitcases was a problem. There was no mini fridge in the room which the majority of our similar star rated hotels have had.
Pool was good and was rarely utilised by guests during our stay.
Best thing about this hotel is their large roof top terrace with amazing views over the harbour and to the Greek island of Meis . From 5pm to 7.30pm it is happy hour on the terrace and they make a mean margarita. Cool music played and very relaxing at the end of the day to sit with a cocktail. Breakfast served on roof top terrace and is very good with plenty to choose from. Eggs are cooked to order and smoothies, espresso etc, and freshly squeezed orange juice available to buy. A vegetarian buffet is also available in the evening at 18TL with BBQ chicken, fish or beef an extra 5 TL. We did not have an evening meal here.
The only thing we found puzzling with the roof top terrace area was that they removed the jug and tea and coffee making facility at 6pm each night. I'm not sure why as our other hotels have had the facility for guests to make hot drinks anytime. It is not because they needed the room to set out the vegetarian buffet.
Staff and owners are very helpful and friendly and owner even offered to drop us at the bus station the morning we left.
