“it is very nice”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 13, 2011

In Kas I stayed at the Santosa pension, this pension is wonderful, family owned that emitted great energy. They let me use the kitchen to cook my own breakfast, they let me use a wash bin for my clothes, which they don’t mind if you hang your clothes on the outside line. A private bathroom, free wireless Internet, and free tea for only 40 YTL a night, I stayed three nights. The town is touristy, although relaxed.

i was recommended by my friend from goreme to stay at the Santosa pension for 2 nights. was not dissapointed. arrived at the bus station and 1 call to deniz to advise of my arrival he arrived within minutes on his motor bike. seeing that i had a rather large suicase with me , phoned his wife and she arrived with the car to pick me up. what a wonderful family . had a rather large room to myself and spotlessly clean. breakfast was typical turkish but we were also served fresh fruit. really/really nice . enjoyed my stay at santosa highly recommended and conveniently situated . short walk to the centre of the town and harbour.

Room Tip: choose a room with a balcony, if u are a smoker. also lovely mountain views.

We stayed a week in Santosa pension and enjoyed every minute. It is a family run pension - not a hotel - and this is what we like and what makes it a warm and lovely place to stay. The owner, Deniz and his wife could not be more helpful and any problems are swiftly fixed e.g. a leaky tap in our sink was dealt with within hours. The roof terrace is great and has a fantastic view over the town and a little bit of sea view. Breakfast has plenty of options and is taken on the terrace, and even in October, it was warm and sunny at 9am. Lovely. The rooms are basic but very comfortable and very clean. There was plenty of hot water for showers. We didn't have a balcony but did have a fantastic view of the mountains. The location is excellent - a short stroll down to the harbour front and all the restaurants etc. It's very quiet at night, so a good sleep can be had. It is also near the otogar (bus station) and Deniz will pick you up if need be. Kas is great and has lots to offer - the boat trip to the Limonazi beaches is great and the beaches, in late season, are very quiet but a lovely way to spend the day. Deniz will arrange the more active trips if you wish and he taps into the local providers with very reasonable prices and you get picked up from the pension. We tried the mountain bilking and the sea kayaking, both excellent days out. All in all, this pension and Deniz and his family, help to make a trip to Kas a more complete experience, as they are so warm and welcoming into thier family. Oh, and the price is excellent too!

Friendly and family run the Santosa is ideally located for a short break in the centre of Kas. A short walk from the otogar, although Denis, the owner of Santaosa collected us within minutes of our arrival having been alerted by a friend who spotted us getting off the bus. Our stay was easy to arrange through booking.com (with no penalties for a cancellation up to 24hrs before you arrive) and there appeared to be no price difference whether we booked direct or not. Lovely Turkish breakfast is included, and eaten on the roof top terrace which overlooks the town and valley. The pension and rooms are basic but comfortable and not cramped and have ensuite facilities. We didn't have a balcony although some rooms did, but we had a beautiful view. From the Santosa, the harbour is a short walk, ideal for trips to Kerkova and other islands. Well positioned for acitivities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking and walking - or if you just want a walk through the quaint ottoman style streets to do some window shopping or pass the time in a cafe - it's ideal.

Room Tip: Ask for what you'd like and if they can oblige they will

we had a really great experience staying here--booked for one niight and stayed for five...hostel is a few minutes walk from the action..but is really quiet..our ground floor room was also really cool despite the 38 degree heat outside..possibly a bit pricey, but i think it was worth it..Deniz was a helpful and friendly host.

the hotel is a small guesthouse offering a warm and caring welcome: the comfort and services are appropriate to the level of the structure, which is notable for the large breakfast and the friendly helpfulness of the owners

Before I write my review, I want to state that this place is a pension, and your comfort depends on your preference between luxurious stay or more friendly & warm environment. If you are not used to stay in a place that is friendly and connected to their guests (of course preserving your freedom..) for a less luxurious stay, or if you think you cannot handle warmth and disturb owners or other people staying in the pension, you should consider choosing another type of accommodation for your vacation.

I went this pension without reservation in August and booked a room in their 1st floor. First of all, the family is very relaxed and warm. They even do not ask things like pre-payment and your exact check out dates, just enjoy your stay, inform them one night before you leave and pay when you leave as I did. They are specially very connected to their guests, knowing their names, as well as their children's. They solve problems in your rooms as soon as you report them (like my douche).
Good to state also; staying here, as such a warm and connected environment, you should not worry about your freedom, they are modern and free minded family, as most of the locals in Kas, and I didn't have any issues in my stay.
The room was huge compared to other pensions and the air conditioning was new and efficient. The neighbourhood is silent and nice for a good rest.
Another nice thing if you stay there is their barbecue nights. They sometimes barbecue fishes in their teras for their guests, with homemade side dishes. The side dishes they made are nice and goes great with the fish.

Because the pension is located in centre, the teras has very limited sea view. It mostly sees the city itself.

I had a comfortable stay with lots of nice friendships, chats and food eaten. Recommended to anyone looking for such a place in Kas.
