“lovely hotel, great location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2011

We stayed here for a week at the end of May 2011 and loved everything about it.
The location is perfect - close enough to Kalkan to go in for dinner every night, but fairly quiet and secluded at the same time.
You can walk along the path into town but we took the car as there was plenty of parking in Kalkan - it wasn't very busy while we were there.
The hotel is beautiful, very well designed. It covers a lot of space for only 30 ish rooms, which gives it a very spacious, peaceful atmosphere. But at the same time it's not stuffy, you can still have a laugh around the pool.
Some hotels which are adults only often have only elderly guests, but this one has a nice mix, with families, couples and friends.
The staff are very helpful, friendly and pleasant and seem to enjoy their jobs.
The nearby Yali beach club is a must for anyone who loves jumping/diving into the sea and the water is perfectly clear and warm.
Rooms are spacious, clean, well decorated and well appointed.
Breakfast is excellent and at one of the best settings anywhere, with views to set you up for the day. Plenty of choice and you can ask for any addtional items, eggs, pancakes etc etc.
The spa is one of the best I've seen anywhere and reasonably priced.
All in all, a great place.

The only downsides (and they are very minor) - wifi is slow and cuts out, and hotel is on the wrong side of the bay for sunsets! Cnay you set up Likya 2 on the other side please? !

A superb holiday to Kalkan. Other reviews will give you the detail so I'll keep it short. The hotel was superb in all areas especially the customer service. Mohammed did a great job running the hotel helped by Sevinne. Behind the bar and serving was Ersin & Patek but I can't remember all the names of the staff who looked after us but they all did a superb job. The chef at Likya is equally excellent as were the two masseurs from Bali. We will definitely be going back.
Kalkan was also a great destination with over 200 restaurants, I was told. We tried 4 of them - Salt & Pepper, Trio, Coast are the ones I remember, all were excellent.
If you want a relaxing holiday that's not like Blackpool this is the place to come.

Happy Holidays

Whilst I have toured the rooms ( which all look fantastic), I have used the Turkish Bath / Haman, and spa on several occasions now over the past couple of years and it is fantastic. It is so underused that it is like having your own private spa. My partner and I always opt for a couples haman treatment at the start of our holiday to wash away that travelling grime and then again at the end of the holiday before our journey home couples with an olive oil massage. The manager, Estaban, makes a real effort to make you welcome, and the staff giving the treatments are clearly very experienced and good at what they do. The Spa is immaculately clean, and if you visit it for a treatment you also get acess to the private pool, gym and bar area with a balcony with amazing views over kalkan. I use Spa's in London regularly and this is better than any of them at about half the price. You should definately try this place irrespective of whether you are staying at the Lykia or not. I always got the staff at the Meldi hotel to book things for me, but it is also easy for you just to contact the hotel direct and make arrangements. Treatments start at about £15 with a full hour massage around £35. They also have packages available for various sets of treatments and often throw in extras if you book additional treatments. The only thing they need to fix is heating in the indoor pool and jacuzzi which would make it perfect!

Have just returned from a weeks stay at the Likya, booked via Turqoise Collection, who appeared to have the cheapest prices on the internet! and were very efficient to deal with.
Onto the hotel, we arrived after dark, so little to see until the next morning! The hotel is just to the right of the old harbour on the hillside with perfect views from all bedroom terraces and pool areas over the bay of Kalkan. We awoke to the most amazing sunrise from our private terrace, all terraces look out over the pool and then over the wide open sea, amazing! Breakfast is taken outside on a covered terrace, quite a decent selection of meats, breads and fruit, and eggs cooked to order. Our master suite room was a great size, nicely decorated, double wardrobes, seating area, flat screen TV, bathroom with bath and seperate shower.
General facilities+ great pools and sunbathing areas, lovely bar and poolside service, restaurant is exceptional, we had lunch there 3 times, but never had dinner as always went into town, however, if we had been there for 2 weeks then dinner would have been a definate. The Spa facilities are first class, there is a choice of lots of packages, me and my partner went for package1, which is an excellent deal. You have an excellent turkish bath together, which is exfoliation, lather bath, then you finish with clay mask, and de-stess massage, a 2 hour experience for £55 each, a perfect couples treatment, and wonderful start to your holiday as it gets rid of all that dead skin, before you start exposure to the sun!
Staff-Service is all excellent and very friendly, everyone very helpful, Mehemet is in charge of food and beverage, and is especially helpful.
Lastly, if like me, when looking for a great hotel in kalkan, you have been slightly confused as to the quality of various hotels, as they don't seem to have a star rating then I will tell you that this hotel is pretty much 5 star. On visiting Kalkan, I did'nt see anywhere or was told by any of the locals of anywhere that better facilities, location or reputation that the Likya. When we return again, and it is when not if, it will be to the Likya.

The views are breathtaking, the rooms beautifully appointed (and spacious), and the staff could not have done more to make us feel welcome and important guests. The Spa is a real treat. Highly recommend this great hotel and we booked through Discerning Collection who's staff we found to be very knowledgable and helpful. Will definately revisit.

Just found out that you can now book the Likya Residence and Spa with a company called the Discerning Collection. All the previous staff from Tapestry both here and overseas have left the Travelzest group (who I believe owned Tapestry) and have now set up again with Aslan the hotel owner. The price I managed to get for this May was less than last year with no less service. I spoke to both Beata and Charlie who were really enthusiastic about their new venture and I for one would like to wish them lots of luck.

Stayed here in May 09 &10 and were booked for May 11 but hotel seems to have fallen out with Tapestry Collection is now no longer available through them. As 5 of us were booked to return for the Father in Law’s 70th in May this year I was concerned. However, fortunately one can book with a new company called The Discerning Collection (in fact same lady – Beata – who I made my previous bookings with at Tapestry!). So have cancelled previous booking and rebooked – phew!. Regarding the hotel itself, I would endorse all the positive comments from other Trip Advisors. Clearly some people have good and bad experiences, but I cannot see that there is a problem with this hotel. Yes it is not brand new anymore and that people such as Jimmy (good guy) come and go, but this is a property that is well done, in a fab location and with lovely staff who want to look after you. So, I am returning again and will say if it isn’t up to scratch.
