Supposedly Ultra All Inclusive; not quiet, we were asked to pay extra for fresh fruit and vegetable juice (2€ ); towel changes; you were allowed to visit one of the 4 A l carte restaurants available at the time of our visit, per week free of charge (the fish restaurant was not opened) beyond this all further visits to any of the four restaurants were chargeable at a rate of €15 per head, plus drinks. The mini bar was never full and on the occasion we asked for additional coffee sachets, we were told no and that we would have to use room service, which was not part of the all-inclusive package and therefore chargeable. There was little or no Turkish Cuisine, mostly German and Russian dishes at meal times and for some strange reason, one of the snack bars was a jacket potato stand, just what you need in 30 degree Mediterranean heat!. Throughout the day there were periods when there was no food available, for example 11am - 12.30pm and 9pm-12pm (unless you were eating at an a l carte restaurant). The service was friendly, but very slow and disorganised, sometimes food and drinks did not turn up or took extremely long to arrive and occasionally the food was not cooked thoroughly, for example, chickens legs still bleeding. There was no entertainment for teenagers; mine were bored, as most of the entertainment is directed at older guest. Some of the staff had really bad hygiene problems, the smell ruining meals on occasions. There was no Wi Fi in the hotel, apart from in a small area of the lobby, this was very frustrating, as coupled with the lack of entertainment for children and the bad weather; Wi Fi, was an essential requirement and our expectation of a 5* Ultra-All-Inclusive hotel. We were only issued a single room key for a family of 4, additional keys cost €10. The cool air conditioning setting was off and we were informed that it was too early in the season to turn it on, despite the rooms being unbearably hot at night. The hotel was not ready for service; we had power cuts and no hot water on occasions. It seemed to me that every time I asked for anything the answer was no or the response was negative or an additional cost to my already expensive ‘Ultra All Inclusive’ holiday.
This is a fantastically stunning hotel, the staff are friendly and polite, the rooms are big and comfortable,it is aesthetically pleasing, however, having stayed in the same location last year, in 3 different hotels, due to the ash cloud fiasco and thoroughly enjoying it, this holiday was very disappointing.
