“Wow, what a fantastic holiday!! and all thanks to the staff of Limak Lara.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2010

We stayed at the Limak last September for our honeymoon and I cannot compliment this hotel enough. The rooms were great (altough we were spoilt and had a suite complete with jacuzzi). The facilities of the hotel overall were fantastic, but what really made the holiday was the staff, nothing was too much trouble and they seemed to enjoy making your time there special. The food selection was amazing, there really was everything you could possibly want and I was amazed to see a baby station, complete with pureed food, microwave, blender, formula and rusks, I have never stayed at a hotel that has put so much thought into their selection. I really cannot fault this hotel. 10/10

We stayed in February this year on our Honeymoon and we wanted for nothing we had! a fantastic time. Wherever we were we waited for nothing we were never without a drink or food no matter what bar or restaurant we visited. What is it that you people want do you want someone wiating at the end of your bed to pamper you and as for being discriminated against due to your nationality what a lot of rubbish. Did you attempt to speak Turkish but ill bet you expected the staff to speak English what a hypocrite! The cleanliness of our room was not in question and the friendliness of staff was without question. Yes there was some upgrading being done however it was very early in the season what do you expect! I would recommend this hotel to anyone infact my parents are visiting this year also

Beautiful hotel, but not alot infact nothing to do in surrounding areas. Went with a friend and spent all our time in resort as nothing close by. The hotel itself was immaculate, rooms were amazing and the food was excellent! The guys that worked there were all friendly (snoopy was a bit full on and didn't wana know u if u didn't fancy him!) but apart from that they were lovely. Food is central to this hotel as its served pretty much all day and u can eat even when u aint hungry!! The beach area was lovely and i imagine in warmer months its rammed but we never saw 1 person in the sea or pools while we were there. All in all a fabulous hotel but wouldn't reccomend going after peak time or if u like a bit of nightlife!

I stayed at this hotel on 3 March 2010 with my partner. I work for TCooks and get very good deals on holidays etc so are used to very good standards... We are very often spoilt!
For TCook customers, you become ultra all inclusive and were handed cars to say what was included within tjhis.
This hotel was amazing. The first room we got was on the 2nd floor, well furnished, cleaned everyday, balcony was nice and big, some english TV, mini bar replenished everyday, bathrobes and slippers etc etc.

The grounds of the hotel are great, the thing I liked about the hotel, was that there was always somewhere you could find to sit and read a book, or just sit and have peace and quiet away from everyone!
We used the sauna, gym, indoor pool and jacuzzi everyday!

The food was amazing. I am by far the worlds worst person when it comes to food, and will only eat chicken but I can honestly say out off all my holidays, the food was brillant. The people that moan on here about the food being terrible etc must have stayed at a different hotel as there was always something you could choose from!

We were upgraded free to a jacuzzi family suite and were very impressed. Big jacuzzi, room was huge, bigger shower, bigger walk in wardrobe and amazing sea view balcony with sun loungers etc. Got all your lotions etc free of charge aswell.

All in all this hotel is brillant. People that moan about it are clearly trying to find faults etc. We did see one couple taking pictures of the renovation work and a chipped glass...I mean, your on holiday, get a grip! I will definatly be recommending this to all my customers!

We visited this hotel, Mar 3/10th. From the minute we stepped through the entrance we knew we had made a good choice!!! The whole hotel is spotlessly clean. Our room was large with a large double and a single bed, flat screen t.v. and a walk in wardrobe, The bathroom was spacious with bathrobes to use plus shower gel ,shampoo & conditioner and hand soap, there was a free minibar and free safe. We had a lovely view down to the sea one side and the snow capped mountains on the other.
The food in the restaurant was amazing, with so much choice ,everything was well cooked and there was lots of fresh veg and fruit, for the less adventurous there was always chips and wedges, the bread was the best we've had anywhere and the cakes to die for.
The grounds are well kept and a pleasure to wander round, the seating area over the beach a popular spot to relax and enjoy the wonderful Turkish weather.
All the staff were pleasant and attentive,we were served drinks the minute we sat down in the restaurant, after the first visit, they remembered we were English and spoke to us in English,we had a laugh and joke with most of them over our weeks stay. We loved the" Oasis bar" a good spot to relax and catch up with new friends. The entertainment was low key,but they all worked their socks off to entertain us,they all spoke whenever you passed them and were all very nice people. Our one regret, we didn't book 2 weeks. We would visit again without a doubt.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed March 9, 2010

We returned from a week in the Limak Lara Hotel on the 8th March 2010.
All was well on arrival but once in the cold light of day it was not quite as it seemed.
Ok so Turkey is the place to Holiday when you are German and Lara Beach is one of their favourite destinations, so it is all geared up for them.
The room was large with a nice walk in wardrobe and a large bathroom with Bath and Shower above. We had a King bed and a Single plus a sofa and chair. The cleaning of the room was non-existent – please see pictures . Despite mentioning this nothing was done. The dead bugs were not a nice decorative feature. Plus the women did not know how to use a Hoover, there were leaves on the floor, plus to see if she would notice I even put a biscuit on the floor, but no it was still there after she had “cleaned” and the next day it ended up under the dressing table. We could barely see through the patio doors for the hand smears and the balcony, when it was cleaned, was washed over with dirty water and left to dry. Also if you require a kettle do not get fobbed off by reception and charged 50 Euro deposit. We paid 20 Euros despite Stephanie our TC rep stating it would only be 10 Euros?!
On to the Main Buffet Restaurant, there was a large selection and we never did go hungry but putting together a “proper” meal wasn’t very easy, and we are not fussy eaters. I just don’t like the cold vegetables in sour mayonnaise that they seemed to have everywhere. But there was always the failsafe pizza and chips or pasta if you are really fussy. The Dessert selection was very nice, and there was also a choice of 2 soups for lunch and dinner. Breakfast was by far our favourite meal from fresh Omelettes and eggs, to cereals, jams and breads. Just remember it is a Muslim country so no Bacon or real Sausages! The main gripe we had with the buffet restaurant for Lunch and Dinner was the lack of service, we were never offered a drink, we always had to ask, or go up to a waiter and ask. This begins to grate a little when you see that all the Germans are being given top service and even had their drinks ready for them as they entered the Restaurants. I understand they tip as they go along but, when we receive good service we tip. I do not believe in tipping to receive good service.
Turkish Restaurant. Wasn’t overly impressed again through Service. We had to wait over an hour for our main course when everyone else on that same sitting had been served and was almost finished their desserts. Food was ok, but not fantastic as we would have expected. The Turkish meal we had in Side the other year was by far better quality.
Italian Restaurant. This was AMAZING. It was like actually eating in Italy. The food was gorgeous. I had the Steak and my Fiancé had the Lamb and they both just melted in your mouth as did the pasta. If we could have ate there every night we would of, worth every penny of the 9 Euro PP cover charge. Service was also 2nd to none it was nice to actually be asked questions and feel like you are on holiday instead of unwelcome and in the way.
We had a fabulous couples massage in the Spa, well worth the 80 Euros for an hour for 2. Indoor pool was nice but it was usually very cold, which was disappointing. Also we had to keep asking for the slide to be put on and each time we did it was like asking for the moon. Come on we are on holiday, please can we have some fun? As soon as it was put on people would just appear like they have been waiting for ages so it wasn’t like there was no demand for it. The steam room was good as was the Sauna & Turkish bath.
Outside there was, as you can imagine for this time of year, lots of work going on but nothing too bad, that would actually put you off catching some sunshine & there was always plenty of sunbeds. Also if you were lucky the man with the drink trolley may come round to you and serve you drinks right to your sunbeds which was a very nice touch, and unexpected in Winter Season.
We walked along the beach a couple of times which was pleasant put as there is a lot of construction happening along the strip, the beach was littered with rubbish, so it is not as clean as you may have imaged. There was also a number of Jelly Fish along the beach?!
We visited Mardan Palace Hotel (the only 7 star hotel in Europe, I believe) one day and were also a little disappointed although it is Beautiful and huge, the rooms are a little small. You do not get to see very much on the organised tour except the rooms, pool and main reception. Also the little Zoo is a little upsetting as the animals are kept in such small spaces; it was not nice to see.
On the positive side after speaking to a few other couples, it seems or Cleaning Issues were just isolated to our floor (we stayed in room 1120) as the floor above said there rooms were spotlessly clean and they even received towel art and flowers from their cleaner. We didn’t pay very much for our little winter break but cleanliness to a certain level I do expect.

GRManager, Limak Hotels Management at Limak Lara De Luxe Hotel & Resort, responded to this review, March 23, 2010
Thanks for your fair review - you have outlined the positives of your stay as well as the negatives which leads me to believe that your complaints are genuine. We are sorry to hear about your housekeeping problems, it sounds like a one-off incident but Lara's management has been informed.

Regarding the service, with up to 20 nationalities of guests the personnel really do not favour any guests in particular. When a guest is waiting at the bar or their dinner table, for instance, the barman/waiter cannot tell their nationality by looking at them.

Certain facilities - such as the outdoor pools and waterslides - are closed because it is the low season, the pools are too cold to swim in, and there are very few children in the hotel. It is also important to have trained staff to operate waterslides safely. The temperature of the indoor pool is controlled every day and regulated by a thermostat - if you have any problems at all please go and see our Guest Relations team.

Regarding the complaint about the food in the review below, all food temperatures are controlled, and samples are taken by a specialist department which operates to strict international HACCP standards.

If you are having any doubts about Limak Lara after reading these reviews I would ask you to please read some of the other 228 positive ones before making up your mind!

We hope to see you here soon,

Jamie Bedwell

The hotel itself is the most amazing hotel I have ever been to. It is absolutely beautiful. Nothing to complain about regarding the room, or cleanliness We had a jacuzzi in our bedroom !! It was amazing however my partner got food poisoning on the second day. I have worked in catering for a short time and even being unexperienced I could tell the food was uncooked. I practically lived off hard uncooked... pasta and bread for a week and my boyfriend ate everything on offer. He ended up really unwell with stomach cramps, sickness and diahorrea non stop for the duration of the holiday also for a week once we had arrived home and he can normally eat anything and I mean anything!!. There was also nothing!! round about for resturaunts, pubs etc! I would not reccomend this hotel unless you are going self catering and hiring a car. There is nowhere to eat and nothing to do apart from get drunk and sunbathe. Also the locals and staff are sleaze balls so if you have blonde hair beware! We booked up with Barrhead travel and the travel rep was so unhelpful, she made out as if he had ate outside the hotel even though there was nowhere to actually eat !! And,.... we had spoken to a few couples who had the same problem. If you go here you will have to have a stomach of steel and the attention span of a vegetable(as long as its cooked)!!! It is CRAP !!!
