Day one - after an easy flight we experienced very rude staff at the airport however after a 15 minute transfer we arrived at reception to be greeted with a glass of champagne by the hotel porter who then took our bags to our room. First impressions were great. We were allocated room 6060, which was fine, not the sea view we requested but clean and comfortable nonetheless. Two small niggles - the black out curtains didn't cover the window and let light in and a rocker switch on the headboard meant we inadvertently keep leaning on during the night and waking ourselves up with bright light. The view of the road and external building work meant we hardly used the balcony. No facial tissues provided in the bathroom. We explored the hotel and met John in the spa, who was an absolute delight, he provided a tour of the facilities and we booked several treatments.
Day two - spent by the fabulous pool, plentiful supply of sunbeds and easy access to all facilities. In the afternoon we went to cafe mundo for coffee and cake, which was pleasant although staff not especially friendly. Return to room after nice buffet dinner in restaurant and ran out of toilet paper, called reception but had to go all night without paper as none arrived and ended up using our own tissues. Made a personal visit to reception the following day and paper promptly delivered. A la carte restaurant booking system was difficult but managed to book in at Poseidon on one occasion.
Day three - excellent trip to spa, staff were exceptional and we were extremely well looked after. Probably a bit overpriced but we didn't mind. The euro seems to be the most commonly used currency.
Day four - lovely ice cream, shame about the service at the outside food court. Entertainment average at best but great for kids. Not allowed to eat cake at the lobby bar balcony, not sure why.
Day five - nice beach, too many smokers and pebbles make access to the sea difficult. Watersports too expensive. Great food and service at poseidon. Discovered the strike bar, excellent fun bowling, playing pool and air hockey.
Not much more to add, overall a very relaxing holiday representing good value for money in nice surroundings.
