“Lovely family-friendly hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2013

Just back from a two week stay at the Liberty Hotel Lara. My wife joined half way through and the staff were great in sorting things out, including giving us a double bed when our tour operator only offered us a twin. When my wife had problems contacting her airline, reception called on our behalf and sorted it out. Thank you. The hotel does not have the swank of the bigger places along the strip, but thankfully lacks the kitsch, over the top ostentatiousness of some of the architectural monstrosities. The choice of food was varied, though naturally during two weeks we had the same dishes more than once, but when cooked so well I didn't mind. The freshly cooked food was always popular, especially the noodles. The room was a decent size, though with the extra bed made things a bit tight. We had a quick look in some of the adjoining rooms when they were being redecorated and saw what else was on offer, so would consider a bigger room another time. Room service was good and the decorated bed linen brought a smile every day. One criticism I do have is that the shape of the building lends itself to too much noise emanating upwards from the lobby to the rooms facing into the centre. It was out of season, so we accepted outdoor activity would be limited, but nevertheless we had plenty to keep us occupied indoors. Thanks for the darts Oscar and Jenny. The waiters were considerate and attentive and the entertainment team created a lovely ambience. Our daughter will particularly remember being chosen as the lottery angel. The mixture of nationalities was I found not a negative point; my daughter made friends easily and there were no difficulties communicating as kids have a way of their own and are not exposed to the bigotry proffered in some reviews. We hired a car and drove for over 500 miles in the area exploring as much of the local colour as we could. Having never been to Turkey before, we all found it a wonderful experience, made more comfortable based in a friendly hotel.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the lobby are quieter and currently on floors 8, 6 and 2 have newer equipment instal...

Returned from a week at the Lara Liberty Hotel and must say that it was a good stay overall.

Food was excellent with a wide range on offer catering for all needs. Lots of the facilities were closed due to the season but this was expected and was fine.

Indoor pool is good but the gym was by far below standard. Both exercise bikes didn't work properly and the weights were missing pins and collars so they're unusable.Really needs some investment in there.

Evening entertainment was good. Movies on show on a large screen in the conference room was perfect for me and my friend.

Good value for money.

We had done a lot of research on this hotel before booking, so we were prepared for the one or two repeat negatives that seemed to echo through the reviews. Appearance of hotel from the outside and room quality being the main issues. The hotel does look small and understated from the outside and is unfortunate to sit next to the very large and elaborate Royal Holiday Palace, but believe me, you cannot judge a book by it's cover! On arrival, we were greeted by a welcome glass of bubbly and a flower and all the receptionists were friendly, efficient and spoke very good english. There was a nice mix of nationalities at this hotel and everyone was polite and friendly. No queue jumping, sunbed hogging or rudeness here, as reported in other nearby hotels! The inside of the hotel is beautiful and spotlessly clean. Really don't know how anyone could complain about this hotel. Our room was on the fifth floor, overlooking the pools and with a magnificent seaview. It was lovely to have the doors open at night, lie in bed listening to the waves and then catch the sun coming up in the morning! Ok, the rooms could be a little more luxurious but we were very happy with ours. The maid changed the bed linen every single day and left us towel art, dressed with flowers each day too, which was a nice touch. The mini bar was restocked on a daily basis, so we took drinks from there when we went on excursions.
As with all the other reviews on here, I'm sure you've picked up on how fantastic the food, service and staff are. We were so impressed. Make sure you have a freshly made omelette and the delicious stir fry during your stay and also the pizza in the yoruk tent. The local cats love to share this with you which was lovely. Miss those beautiful little furry babies! The entertainment, being out of season, had been scaled down but I can honestly say we were never bored in the evenings. The in house animation team made a great effort and went out of their way to come and sit with you for a chat! (Hi, Oscar!)
To finish with......a few tips:-
Take euros instead of lira. Everything is priced in euros in and around the resort.
Get to know Mustafa, the awesome Thomson rep! Nothing is too much trouble for him. We wanted to go to Antalya for the whole day (Thompson excursion was only half a day) so he worked us out a route and wrote down what buses to get and drew us a map where to get back on at the other end. It was so easy and you definitely need the whole day to see all this wonderful city has to offer. What an absolute credit he is to Thomson. Our holiday at Liberty Lara was totally amazing from the start to finish. Thank you all so much and we don't usually go anywhere a second time but for you, we will make the exception!

Lara hotel is a beautiful hotel with by far the best all inclusive package I've ever had. The staff in the main are very helpful and will go the extra mile to make your holiday.
The hotel is very very clean and the rooms are 1st class when it comes to house keeping.
We payed extra and stayed in a duplex room on the top floor and with 3 little children it was worth every penny having an extra floor.
The entertainment was fantastic and a lot of effort is put in by the team, we thoroughly enjoyed every night.
The food was top notch and the senior chefs where always on show for comments and conversation, there was so much variety we could have stayed a month without a repeat meal, a great thank you to the executive chef for a wonderful selection of food every day.
The worst part of the holiday was by far leaving to go back home.
Well done and thank you Liberty Lara.

Room Tip: If you've got small children that want to sleep in the evening whilst your in the room, a duplex...

I have been meaning to write this review for ages. I went to this hotel in July 2012 with my husband and two children aged 2 and 5 and friends with a 5 year old. I reviewed a lot of hotels in the area and wanted something small rather than an enormous one with a fun fair! However, what we sacrificed for size was modernity and service.

This is nowhere near a 5 star hotel and shouldn't sell itself as such. On arrival we were so disappointed, the whole place needs completely redecorating. This didn't get any better when we went to our room. We paid a lot extra for a duplex and expected luxury. What we got was a tired room with wood hanging off and missing from the fridge, stairs that were worn with wood missing and worse of all a massive whole in the ceiling by the window that was stuffed with tissue paper. One morning we woke up to a bird in our room that had come through the hole. My husband caught it in a pillow case took it to reception and they just laughed. We didnt find it very funny!

There were smashed tiles round the pool that had been sprayed obviously ready to be changed but surely this should have been done off peak?

There was the usual palava with the sun beds round the kids pool, you had to be up at 7 to have any chance of getting one. Which was a shame as the kids pool was great. We used the Thomson kids club which was great but small with very limited hours. The girls in there were fantastic but we had to discover it was Thomson only.

The service was average and just about 4 star compared to places I've been before.

There is only a lobby bar in the hotel which lacks atmosphere and a bar by the arcade that I wouldn't even call a bar it was decrepit with a load of chairs and tables hanging around it. Soulless! No one manning it most of the time and completely pointless. The only other entertainment was in the amphitheatre which was rubbish and soo hot. The kids enjoyed the disco but it was the same every night. They could have changed it up a bit.

The one thing that was good was the quality of the food in the main restaurant. The a la carte paid for restaurants were just ok. All inclusive meant all inclusive and you really were not short of anything to eat and drink and I can't fault them for that.

I spent two weeks listening to the music from the huge hotel next door every night until it stopped at midnight.

Had my expectations been lower this hotel will probably have scored higher. 5 star no just about 4 will do. We paid thousands for this holiday.

A very good choice for spending one week in Antalya. Staff very kind and helpfull, food excellent, service also very good. The rooms are very clean, but need some rejuvenation (furniture and TV old ). Internet very poor in the room, it is working just in the main hall (reception).
Although the hotel is 5 star rated, we did not have robes and slippers for going to the swimming pool or sauna, so we had to go there dressed with our own clothes (wich were not so appropriate).
Overall it was a great week spent in this hotel, mainly because of the hotel staff and excellent food and services. Thank you !

Room Tip: Rooms with sea view are very good because of the sight.
