“Barut Lara resort Antalya THE BEST”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 4, 2012

Barut Lara resort Antalya THE BEST
We went to the Barut Lara resort in September 2011
The best way we can describe our experience of this holiday at this hotel and of its staff would be.
“ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC”
My wife and I went with two other friends to the Barut, this was our second visit to Antalya, but the first time at this hotel. Our first visit to Antalya in 2010 was absolutely wonderful and we thought that it could not be beaten but, we were wrong. The Barut Lara resort has to be the best hotel on Lara beach strip, not only for its cleanliness, fantastic food and restaurants, brilliant entertainment, superb beach, but also for its very friendly and attentive staff, the whole of the staff from senior managers to bar staff, waiters and waitresses, cleaners pool attendants etc made our holiday something very special to be remembered for ever.
We enjoyed it so much that we have decided to return this September 2012 and we are very much looking forward to it. It is additionally important to mention that the Animation team were so professional in their tasks to provide help and support to all of the guests and also providing entertainment that can only be described as top-class. They work very long hours and always had a smile and time to stop and talk and to give us some advice if needed. This hotel has six à la carte restaurants thus giving you a fantastic choice of culinary delights. There is also the buffet restaurant which is very well designed and gets you away from a traditional type of all inclusive buffet restaurants. It has lovely areas for dining and people tend to pick their favourite areas or stations to eat in, thus usually getting the same waiter or waitress. There are several bars open throughout the day and evening also a 24-hour bar There are so many other outside areas for eating and drinking during the day, beautifully kept Gardens, and a choice of five pools, indoor gym games and entertainment throughout the day. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well presented with TV, DVD player, radio, fridge stocked with beers and soft drinks daily plus the added bonus of tea making facilities. We think that this hotel will be very difficult to beat, that is why we and many others that we have talked to whilst on holiday return year after year. You will not be disappointed.

Room Tip: All rooms are of a good standard but, the better outlook rooms are on the pool side. or if you are n...

We visited the Barut Lara Resort in September 2011 and have re-booked to return again this September. We went to another hotel on Lara Beach in 2010 and didn't think we could better it until we were recommended this hotel.
From the minute we arrived we were treated so well and nothing was too much trouble.
Our rooms were spotlessly clean and maintained to a very high standard throughout our 14 day stay.
The grounds of the resort were excellent and kept looking that way by the hard working gardening staff.
The dining room and restaurants were also spotless and the food was fantastic, plenty of choice and always so very well presented. The main dining room is very well designed to give smaller areas where you could return to each day, much better than a large hall type dining room. Our special thanks to Murat and Furat who served has so well during our stay.
Drinks were available 24 hours and they were local and imported and a good range of brands were available. White, red and rose wine was of a very good quality also.
The best thing about the hotel was the Animation Team, they were superb. The activities which they organised during the day were always full of fun and laughter and they made us all feel very special. During the evenings they presented live shows which were amazing and always mixed with the guests throughout the remainder of evening making sure everyone was enjoying themselves. Thank you all but especially, Blondie, George & Martinez.

Room Tip: Rooms looking towards the beach or back to Antalya have the better views

5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2012

Went in November and again in January and both times were excellent even with poor weather. Never having done an all inclusive and never imagining that I would ever go to a resort, the experience surpassed expectation both times.
The hotel is spacious, clean, modern and designed well with a small but fit for purpose gym, a yoga room, table tennis table, squash court, indoor pool with sea water and a whole outdoor area with lovely gardens, pools, bars and a cat house. Oh yes, there are many cats and they hang around a lot and are very friendly and cute (if you like cats). There is also a one mile track around the hotel if you want to jog or walk.
The rooms are stylish and spotlessly clean. The TV only has BBC news and BBC entertainment as English channels and a US news channel plus Euronews so if you like TV at night bring some dvd's. Our TV had a dvd player I don't know if all rooms have that. There is a choice of pillows which is great.
Internet and wi-fi is available but not free which is disappointing in this day and age. I think they charge 8 Turkish Lira for an hour and there also is a small room with computers available if you don't want to haul your laptop with you. Alternatively, there is an internet cafe down the road for 2 Turkish Lira an hour.
The spa is really well run with Hammam and sauna. Beware that the mixed sauna is 'continental' style which means they all go in naked. I'd never seen that happen before so I was a bit stunned when I saw a bloke's dangly bits and it took me a few minutes (of not knowing where to look) to realise this was the form and a few more minutes to discover a separate ladies only sauna for the more modest. There is no 'free' jacuzzi'. They have a large spa pool for which you pay 10 Euros for 15 minutes but it is wonderful and you have it to yourself. The treatments are a similar price to London which makes it expensive; for example, a 2 hour couple treatment was 240 Euros and there is no negotiating on price.
Food and catering are exceptionally good. The buffet is extensive at breakfast lunch and dinner and you can eat very healthily or not!.Don't forget there is no pork, so no bacon sarnies or sausages. The house wine is very good. In the bar and lounge the service is really good and you do not wait long to be served and the drinks menu is good and includes some cocktails. There is a patisserie/cafe open all day and on some days they make pancakes or waffles to order in the afternoon.
It seems that everyone is on an all inclusive so there are no wristbands (which I heard is the case in other all inclusive packages) or having to show room ID except when leaving or entering the hotel. This makes for a very informal atmosphere so it is very easy to relax throughout the hotel.
There is an entertainment programme which consists of sports and games during the day and a 'show' in the evening. This could be a dance show, a magician or bingo or karaoke. They do vary it and it is all a bit cheesy but the 'animation' team are very friendly. But if you don't want to participate in anything it is quite possible to avoid it all. There is usually a pianist in the lounge for a couple of hours in the evening which is very enjoyable. The lounge is usually full but not crowded and has a nice atmosphere. They have a cinema which shows movies in German with English subtitles at 10.30pm - hearing the Sherlock Holmes movie in German seemed to have a whole new twist especially the bit where the baddies were going to blow up the Houses of Parliament!-and I think they have a movie in English with Turkish subtitles at 3pm. There is also a nightclub where you can dance the night away to German pop or just watch.

The resort is not near anywhere special except the beach which is sandy and lovely. There are a lot of hotels and tourist shops nearby so straying away from the hotel doesn't offer much locally but you can take the local bus into Antalya if you want to see some historic buildings or do some shopping at better prices. The local bus is like a minivan which you can just flag down anywhere
The shops in the hotel are much more expensive than outside which I know is usual but as an example I was charged 8 Euros for some rose water which my daughter bought in Istanbul for 4 Turkish Lira.
If anything was vaguely irritating, it was that staff will automatically speak to you in German first because almost all the guests are German. And they do that in the shops too. However the animation team all enjoy speaking English so they will chat if you seem open to it.
In summary this hotel does deliver to a 5 star standard and we enjoyed it.

I and my wive visited the hotel in December 2011

Hygen: My point is 4,6 / 5. room is cleaned every day. Towels are changed upon request.

Entertainment : 4,3 / 5 . Only indoor activities and some short outdoor activities such as archery etc. Night shows takes less than an hour.

Food: 5 /5. Excellent fresh seasonal food. It's not cheapfor sure.

Rooms: 4,6 /5. We stayed in one of the standart type rooms with more than 40 m2 space.Air con works well. Noise from upper stairs may distrub you.

so at the end, it is more than my expectation. I strongly reccomend the hotel. Next time we will bring our children, becasue there is plenty of outdoor space for kids.

Regards,

Taner

This was our first time with an all-inclusive concept. This takes a little getting used to as it makes the hotels very different from the regular hotels.

We were staying the in teh junior suite, which was large and spacious. We had a lovely balconey overlooking one of the many pools they have in the property. Before we went to the room, the staff explained to us the concept and the facilities of the hotel. The staff is really nice, friendly and caring. Dugyu/Rebecca at the Executive Lounge will go the extra mile.

The entire hotel had old german couples which was quite a bummer. I think my wife and I were the only under 40 in the hotel. Were told that this is standard for the winter however it is different in the summers.

They have a large DVD collection which we used a lot. There is hardly anything on TV in english. The food in the main hall is adequate and there is a lots of it. I would not say that it is great but passable. The salads and desserts are the best parts.

The gym is basic but has the regular equipment. It is not high quality equipment.

It was too cold to use the outdoor facilities and the garden. Which was a shame, since they do have extensive grounds.

On the way back, we lost the professional photos we had got from the photoshop in the hotel, we spoke to Dugyu, who arranged for a CD to be send to us. Was very impressed with this level of service

My husband & I with two friends stayed for four weeks this time & enjoyed every minute, food fantastic so much choice & waiters in restaurant especially Shukhan & the floor manager Kemer were so helpful. Also animation team were so friendly & put on some fantastic shows.
However, we were the only four British people in the hotel. Still made plenty of friends.
