“Great Variance for Antalya”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

Delicious pizzas that include pork products if desired. The crust is light and crispy and very well presented. Choices were wide and the ingredients were freshly prepared. It is easily found in Kaleici and we enjoyed the service. It is nice to have a little more food variety in Antalya.

Downfall: Drinks were rather overpriced.

“Fantastic Pizza, Average Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 28, 2014 via mobile

Really excellent pizza, ranging in price from 20-50 TL, depending on the ingredients. Only one of the three waiters seemed completely up to speed on the menu; others had to ask him for details. Pizza came quickly, but often a wait to order drinks, dessert or to get the bill.

“Delicious Pizza, but overpriced!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2014 via mobile

We loved eating Turkish food for most of our 3-week trip to Turkey, but this particular day in Antalya we wanted something different. It took us a while to find the restaurant, but you can ask for directions to it. The pizza was absolutely delicious! I don't remember the name but my pizza was the one with eggplant and my husband ordered the spicy one with sausage and they were both absolutely mouth watering! Some of the best pizza I've ever had.

I have to say, though, that the restaurant is really overpriced. We paid in excess of 100 lira and we didn't even order starters or any special drinks. The place is nicely decorated, but quite small.

Overall, a good experience but expect to pay for it.

“Slightly Disappointing - Did Not Meet Our Expectations!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 5, 2014

We visited Il Vicino Pizzeria because we had read that it was #1 of 640 restaurants in Antalya, according to Trip Advisor.
We struggled to find it, and found ourselves wandering around the narrow streets of Kaleiçi for over an hour looking for it. Eventually, we found the Tuvana Hotel and Seraser, but we still could not find Il Vicino Pizzeria. We asked somebody from the Tuvana Hotel, and they led us through the Seraser Restaurant, to the Il Vicino Pizzeria.
It had quite an Italian feel to it, with checked table clothes on the tables, and a pizza oven in the corner, but it seemed to be a much smaller venue than we were expecting. We also found it a little strange that we had to walk through one restaurant to get to another.
We ordered a starter each, one Brushetta al Pomodoro, and one Crostini di Funghi. They were nicely presented, but we were surprised that the toppings were cold, especially the mushrooms. The tomatoes were very cold, and it was not an ideal choice for a winter evening.
We also ordered a Margherita Pizza and a Funghi Pizza. Again, they were nicely presented, but the dough was a little salty for our taste. The crust was also incredibly thin. Perhaps this adds to the authenticity, but it wasn’t quite what we were expecting.
We ordered a couple of beers and peach juice to drink. The first peach juice tasted fine, but the second had black bits in it. The waiter took it away and brought a replacement, but it didn’t taste quite right – it tasted of some sort of chemical solution, difficult to describe, but it wasn’t right, so we asked for water instead. The waiter brought us a bottle of water, which was fine.
We decided not to eat any dessert here, as we had seen another couple eating dessert and the desserts didn’t tempt us.
We had eaten, paid and left the restaurant within thirty minutes. It surprised us that it cost us nearly 100 Turkish Lira, and we left feeling hungry. The food is slightly overpriced, but the drinks are extremely overpriced. The most disappointing factor being that it took us longer to find the restaurant than the time it took us to sit down and eat. We had hoped for a somewhat romantic, yet casual meal. Sadly, it didn’t deliver, and we left feeling hungry and that we had paid more than we should have done for one of the fastest restaurant meals that we have ever experienced.

“Best Italian restaurant in town”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 1, 2014

We started with one of the best Bruschetta I have ever eaten in Turkey. This is most probably because the chef is from Florence and he knows to reflect the Italian taste. Pizzas are also perfect and there are more 10 different choices available. Tomatoes and all vegetables in salads were very fresh. Service deserves 5 stars. Location is in an excellent place in the old town. The building is recently renovated historical place. The pianist plays very nice tunes. I strongly recommend you to try.
