“Paradise in Antalya”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 22, 2011 via mobile

My wife and I stayed here for one week in September and was very pleased with the hotel and impressed by the location. The area is stunning and the people over nice. The shopping is great but be strong and do not be pressured into buying things you really don't want. The local beach is a pay as you go beach but well worth the cost and the food was amazing and cheap. Must try the shesha and visit the Turkish gardens, they may look a bit grubby but you are in a different country with different ways to us Brits, which makes this holiday so so special. Be aware Club Ally, it looks really impressive but the drinks were dear and I was approached by a gentleman and "offered company" I declined the offer and informed the guy I had company(my wife). All in all I will defiantly go back to this hotel to relax and have fun.

We stayed for a week. The Aspen is a pretty hotel in a very good position in the old town. The staff were great, especially the waiters who deserve great praise. The swimming pool is small, but we always found loungers. The fountain courtyard was lovely Our room had a balcony! It was over the street and at times it was too hot to sit out. The room was, we believe, larger than the standard ones in the main block but did have a rather tired bathroom. We coped and it was very clean. We loved breakfast, good choice for a Turkish Hotel and you could have as much coffee from the machine as you wanted. The dinner buffet looked nice and we were told by others that it was very good, though it was inside and we tended to go into town for a view in the open air. Noise wasn't a problem for us with the windows closed and the A/C on, though being low down may also have helped. We were told it was closing for renovations - Don't know whether this is correct.

Room Tip: 4 rooms low down have balconies

Me and my husband are sitting at this moment in a sunken garden reflecting on how stunning this whole place is. The hotel (as others have pointed out) is an absolute haven of Beauty and quaintness. Although very small it has a Huge atmosphere of tranquility and peacefulness. The staff are very pleasant and always on hand to try to help (unfortunately language barrier can get in the way of this). The private beach is a real gem and although you have to pay a small fee, it is worth paying double. We have a balcony so request this in your booking as only four rooms have this feature which we find important. The old town is more beautiful than we could ever of imagined and feel it is not promoted enough. Streets upon streets of shops cafes bars and relaxing gardens that serve nagila relaxing music and ambiance! You do get hassled to buy but we feel this is part of the experience. Just say no and walk away, or buy! The food in the hotel is very good and also in the town. The swimming pool and pool area is very small but also very beautiful. Wonderful holiday, don't want to leave but definitely booking to come back soon. Go and enjoy this wonderful place and don't forget to visit this sunken garden 'Yogmur cafe'.

We (3 boys around 18years) booked this hotel because it offers 3-person-rooms and is located in the Old City of Antalya and close to the beach.
The beach, which is close is a private one and costs around 5 EUR entrance.
The large beach is around 3 Km away but there is a very cheap (around 1 EUR) tram conection.
The next Bazar is ca. 100 m and the next little supermarket is around 200 m away.
You'll find a lot of nice restaurants in this area.
If you like to party go to Club Ally, it is 500 m away.
It's a realy cool open air Club, but it's very expensive!!!

Now the Hotel:
It's very pretty and not that large so you feel welcome and not as a mass tourist.
The Hotel is split in two buildings with two nice yards, one with a pool and one with a little fountain, some plants and some places to sit.

The rooms include a bath, TV, air conditioning, minibar, a desk, telephone, ...
The rooms are clean and the maid cleans and changes the towles daily, but not the bed sheet.

The buffet is good and the meals change daily and does not repeat in a week.

There are plenty of steps into and inside the Aspen, not a place to stay if you are not agile. The rooms are small but who spends time in their rooms on holiday? There is no drawer space in the rooms at all and not much wardrobe space either. The rooms are clean and cleaned regularly, the staff are welcoming, friendly and efficient. The pool is small but we had no trouble finding somewhere to sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. The disco is loud and thumping and does go on into the small hours at times, but it can de blocked out with closed windows and the air con. We have enjoyed our stay at the Aspen and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing time. There is very little nightlife in Antalya, be prepared to do lots of people watching!

A stunning Hotel with a lovely atmosphere. Extremely clean rooms, sheets and towels changed almost every day. NO NOISE FROM NIGHTCLUB as some other people have commented on and you could eat as much as you liked at breakfast. Staff were very helpful and friendly. The location is excellent, right in the centre of the old town with plenty of shops and restaurants, and only a ten minute walk to the centre of the main city.
The Aspen is well worth staying at, we will be going back!!
