“Nice place to spend a day after a burning Sun on the beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 22, 2014

You can understand more of the history of the area, of the people, of Middle East, relations to Europe, culture. It's quite nice and a few hours in a chilling place after days on the beach fit perfectly.

“Surprising museum”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 13, 2014

The museum is very big and contains a very large collection of objects and statues from the region's archeological excavations. It sometimes lacks explanations, notes in english and a better organisation, but the richness of its collections makes it worth a visit.

“Extensive treasures”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 11, 2014

For a guy who isn't a big museum goer, this one is different. Neatly laid out by chronological age and a headset to tell you what you are looking at make it easy and interesting. Spent 3 hours, great collection, cheap price. Limited English explanations so the audio guide is well worth it. Go early to avoid bus tours or loud chatty tourists.

“spending 20 lira is of worth to visit history of ancient turkey”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2014

to have Antalya city tour is not difficult as all major attractions of Antalya city are within one to two km from rixos downtown Antalya hotel and no tour booking or guide needed. from rixos hotel , turn on right side and go straight , you can see Antalya archeological museum. from here if go to left for old city center, straight to atta turk park and marina and to left side ,aqua and dolphin park. museum consist of different sections, including statues representing different famous religious personalities, kings, their graves, and jewelry section, ornaments of different era, dresses of different age civilizations, households of different era, agricultural equipment's, all were of great interest .two floor building was full of historical background. every item was labeled with useful knowledge in English. environment was very pleasant , cold and calm. one room was reserved for movie about history depicted in museum which is very important. light was enough highlighting different portions of museum. The sarcophagus and roman statue section are a must see in the museum. children of matric or o and a level students must watch this museum.
