First of all I would like to say my husband & myself are very fussy & were slightly apprehensive after reading a couple of the reviews but we were very happy with the whole holiday experience, definite 5 star hotel! Of course you will always find some areas that you can see need improvement but when the majority is excellent it is correct to emphasise those.
After a great flight we were expecting a long transfer and got one! My tip, pay the extra for a private transfer, you will arrive at the hotel in approximately one hour instead of the 2 & a half it took us after dropping everyone else off at other hotels! Some reviews had said unfriendly reception staff, well we arrived after midnight, checked in easily & were offered a snack & drink in the lobby bar, a great start! After a good nights sleep in a beautiful room with sea view (duvets if you wanted them in the wardrobe, very welcome with the air con!) we spent our 1st day in the beautiful luxurious resort that the Saphir surely is.
Yes, the food can be repetetive but there is always a lot on offer & you will find something believe me. The breakfast on offer is varied, you can have eggs & sausage & toast if you want it or you can eat european with gorgeous breads & a wide variety of jams & honey - you can even have turkish delight! Lunches include a huge selection of fresh salads, cheeses, meats as well as hot foods(and they are hot!) You can even have chips with every meal if you want them! We were just as happy when we ate in the pool snack bar with a more limited selection but gorgeous rolls so you could make your own with burgers, salad etc. Dinner always different selection & good soups every night. I havent even mentioned the deserts but if they are your thing then wow! crepes made to order every night if you want them too. Drinks at all bars good & self service ok, wine ok if you dont want to drink more than one glass. Real coke, fanta & sprite at all 3 bars. Service in restaurant excellent, lovely waiters who will fetch your drinks if you ask them too & we still got lovely service even though we only tipped our favourite on the last day - Ibrahim you treated my daughter like a princess & she will not forget you! The staff r great with the kids & really seemed to appreciate the british influx that arrived during our time! The only thing with the food was the eastern european emphasis but there was enough for us to choose from & as their guests have been prodominantely russian & german what can you expect?
Only thing the hotel lacks is decent evening entertainment, daytime the animation team r great fun to watch the pool games. Yoga, step, water aerobics and water polo on offer if u wanted but fine if you didnt. Pools are fab, yes you have to be up early to put your towels down but where is different these days? The hotel will remove your towels though if put down before 7am! Pool like being in a warm bath, slides great for the kids & kids pool lovely & shady & safe. Beach great.
We had a wonderful holiday & I would recommend this holiday to anyone with kids, we met some lovely fellow Brits, the resort is amazingly clean, the facilities are fantastic & the staff friendly, we will definitely go back!
