“Port El Kantaoui”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 4, 2012

Me and 3 friends went to Club Selima for a week of relaxation and sun in the beginning of October, the deal we got was amazing and that’s one thing you can’t fault, great value for what you’re paying! The weather was amazing and we were very lucky as the weather took a turn for the worst on the day we left,
The staff at the hotel are all excellent! Especially the entertainment team they could not do enough for you and always got you involved in the day time and night, there is a nightclub in the hotel which definitely reminded me and my friends of the one in the inbetweeners film but was a good laugh and played some good music!
Be warned the hotel is mainly full of Russians who are in fact the rudest people i have ever met in my entire life, if they were not constantly gawping at you the whole day they were barging into you and generally just making you feel uncomfortable, I ended up falling over by the pool area and consequently ending up in a wheelchair, which whilst unable to get up off to floor (out of sight of my friends) no one came over to see if i was ok or help me up they all just stared and gave me dirty looks, this grew even worse when i had to be wheeled round all week.
The food wasn’t terrible but very repetitive and gave myself and friends upset stomachs for the course of the week, very European choice and random things i had never seen in my entire life.
Although this review is showing quite negative, rooms are clean and basic and have everything you need, the staff you cannot fault, except word of warning if you do hire a safe keep the paperwork as they will not give you your money back without it (Which conned everyone) and once you found it they told you it was too late and because you had given them the key back already it became void.
I probably wouldn’t return to this hotel mainly due to the food, but it catered for a nice short break!!

The actual hotel is o.k. with some nice gardens and views, the food was just edible, If you can eat food that is often covered with flies and very repeptitive, The staff are very friendly, infact they are really lovely and try very hard though the majority of guests are German and they look after them first. I guess its what you might expect just about from a three star but many other guests were complaining of filthy rooms and serious stomach upsets. Maybe I was unlucky looking at other reviews yes it is very cheap but I still wouldnt stay there again also tourists need to be made ver aware that bag/camera snatching is rife even in daylight.

My first time in Tunesia left me some really good memories thanks to the great staff of club Selima. Always happy, always kind and helpful. The room was ok, it had everything I needed: a bed, tv, airco and a bathroom with a bath!! It was kept clean by a sweet cleaning lady and now and then she laid flowers on my bed. The food very tasty and the waiters were friendly. Overall an amazing holiday!

This year I returned to El Mouradi Club Selima. This is the third time I have visited this hotel and it is nice that the staff remembered me!!!! It is only a 3* Hotel and the bedrooms are a little dated but hey ho - you only wash, change and sleep in them!!! I was in room 1807 which is in a block close to the hotel and on the first floor. The rooms are cleaned daily, with fresh clean towels supplied every day. The cleaner usualy comes about 13:00 to 14:00. There is a tv in the room. The remote is 15 dinar deposit, but you can control tv without remote. There were 2 english movie channels (9 + 11) plus an english world news channel. It is an all inclusive hotel and there is ALWAYS something to eat. I am a very picky eater and anyone who says that there was nothing for them is a liar. They do chicken, turkey, beef, lamb, rabbit, fish, fresh cooked liver which is cooked in front of you, pasta eg bolognese etc, as well as some traditional tunisian foods - I recommend the Tagine. They also do fantastic sweets, the mousse is to die for. There are also little cakes, ice cream and fresh fruit available. In the restaurant you get the same waiter for the duration of the holiday. You are supplied with fresh sealed bottled drinks of your choice - Fanta, Cola, Sprite, still water, sparkling water, white wine or red wine, or a combination of all the drinks,I usually had white wine, water and sprite. The waiter makes sure that everything is perfect for you. On my last day, he even decorated the table with flowers for me and my friends!!!! You are also entitled to one "gourmet meal" while you are there. Basically, it is a three course meal in the Italian diner - I preferred the normal restaurant!! The animation team this year were new and consequently not very good. DJ Momo is still there - he is great. One night there was a traditional show put on with traditional tunisian music and tunisian bellydancers. It was brilliant. There was also a man who put pots on his head - 7 pots at once!!! There are 2 swimming pools with a lot of free sunbeds round them - you have to pay for the pads to put on the beds - 2 dinars which is about 80p, every day. You can also use the towels out of your bathroom for around the pool/beach. A short walk from the restaurant and you are on the beach. Again, there were plenty of sunbeds and parasols but you had to pay for the sunbed pads. There is plenty of water activity available - but you have to pay for this. A ride on a banana is about £6, paragliding is about £12. If you fancy going for a walk, about 5 mins and you come to a couple of shopping complexes - Ali Baba and the Hawaii centre. Both are good for your souvenir shopping. To get a good deal on the likes of leather bags and coats, I recommend you get a taxi to Sousse and go to the Medina. You must remember to haggle to get the best price and do not buy the first thing you see that you like - if you walk a little further you may get the same item for less!!!! The leather bags are excellent value!!!. If you do not want to go to Sousse, visit the Marina where you can go on all sorts of boat trips. There are quite a few shops there that sell bags and other souvenirs - remember to haggle. Check out the hotel shops first as you may find what you want which may be cheaper than the shops. If you go for a henna tattoo - get it done in the hotel as their henna is licensed so as not to cause allergic reactions. Outside tattooists cannot guarantee this. It does not matter what your nationality is - you are guaranteed that at least one member of staff will be able to talk your language. The hotel has many different nationalities visiting. When I was there, there were French, German, Slovenian, Lithuanian, Tunisian and English. A very good hotel with very friendly staff. I thoroughly recommend it!!!

Room Tip: ASK FOR A LOW NUMBERED ROOM. The lower the number, the closer to the hotel. If you want ground floor...

I was in Tunisia for three times and in this hotel we would definitely go again. Room was ok. We werw in 1117 and we were very satisfied. They clean every day and left clean towels. Food is very good, a little bit repetitive, but you can always finde something interesting and tasty. I enjoyed tunisian specialites, like brik and couscous. Stuff is very friendly, especialy Naser (reception) and Tarek (restoran). Animation team were perfect! Ther were a lot of activities during the day, and interesting show time at night. Saber is really nice (archery teacher) and Ayman-not sure about his name (he did gymnastic, aqua gym, and other activities). Beach is beautiful and sea was clean and warm. Hotel is not far from marina, it is something you should definitely see. Near are two shopping centers, Alibaba and Hawai, where you can buy souvenires very cheap. So, we really had a great time and we will come in Selima again.

Just returned from a 10day stay at the El Mouradi Club hotel with 5 friends, Staff very friendly, especially bar and restaurant staff, couldnt do enough for you (especially Ali in restaurant) , Didnt see much of the entertainment during the day as spent ost of the time on the beach. There are 4 lovely pools in the hotel and no lack of sunbeds. Food o.k. but quite repetetive at times but you certainly wouldnt starve there. Breakfast could be better, no shortage of eggs but eating eggs for ten days is not recommended. Rooms were cleaned daily and clean towels always left. Entertainment at night was A JOKE. The animation team were a great bunch of lads but obviously more suited to doing childrens and day time activities, They put on Show Time most nights but half of the time didnt know what they were doing. Its about time the hotel brought in outside entertainment at night. There was a kareoke one night, we thought great this will be a change but they only had it on from 9,40 untill 11.10. There are no bars in the surrounding area only if you take a taxi and go down to the port, lovely place to look around but dont want to be doing that every day. Irish Bar - dont waste your time- no atmosphere whatsoever. Would go back there as it is good value for money but only if they put on some decent entertainment.

Room Tip: There are bungalows as well as rooms but most people we spoke to were not keen on them as there was...
