Stayed at the Riu Bellevue from the 30th Dec 2012 to 13th Jan 2013 to celebrate the new year.
The hotel looked sparkling clean when you entered with marble tiles polished to perfection. We were greeted with a cocktail while we signed in and then shown to the dining room for dinner.
On return to reception we were given our room keys and we were very fortunate to be allocated a suite with an entrance hall, a lounge with twin beds in a room 30ft x 25ft with tables, chairs, sofa bed, lounge suite and a totally separate bedroom, large balcony with a view looking down the complex, over the pool and out to sea.
The hotel was spotless, the drinks selection was plentyful from beer to cocktails to spirits and liquors, serve yourself soft drinks and coffee in the bars and restaurant.
There was a good choice of food for every meal and I feel sure there would be something for everyone however fussy the may be. There are on the spot cooking stations for meats, pasta, fried eggs, omelettes, etc. A reasonable choice of sweets, help yourself ice cream.
You can walk along the beach to the marina or along the road each taking abot 50 mins at a slow stroll. From the marina you can catch the noddy train ( tourist train ) into Sousse at a charge of 5 TD per couple single . It is better to pay single because there are about 3 trains of different colours and if you pay return you have to catch the same colour back.
The service and staff throughout the hotel was first class.
Please note this was a winter holiday and the quality of the service could change at peak periods, we noticed a difference at the weekend when large numbers of Tunisians arrived for a Satureday night and Sunday breakfast and lunch. The Tunisians are very greedy and fill their plates to maximum capacity with a lot of waste and they take their starters, mains, and sweets all at the same time testing the chefs to the full.
The New Years Evening was fantastic throughout with great food, good entertainment and first class service. Some of the entertainment at other times was very childish, but if not to your taste then use the other bar.
Walking past other rooms they all appeared OK and other guests that we chatted to were quite happy with their rooms, unless located on the ground floor.
We would recommend this hotel if you want service and comfortt.
