Hotel was lovely, the room was very spacious, it is worth upgrading to a superior room if you can. We upgraded to a superior with a garden view, so glad we were not looking over the pool area as the noise level would of been quite high if you were facing towards the pool.
In the superior room you have a kettle and some supplies of coffee and tea, I suggest you take some more supplies if you want to use it for the whole holidays, they supply the milk in the fridge and people do come round stocking these items up. You can get your water at this time but if you are not in when they come calling in the early evening then go to the bar in the hotel and request a large bottle of water (they also do fizzy water on request)
Food we thought was of a high standard, we have been to many all inclusive hotels and so far we have found this to be the best. There is definitely something for everyone. All the waiters were very friendly and helpful. We tended to sit in the same area most days, which on coming into the restaurant was on the right hand side. The waiters here Markeb and Salou they were very good in deed.
There is quite a long walk to the beach so probably wouldn't be that good for people with walking disabilities, but we found it well worth the walk, there is a good beach bar and facilities so you don't really need to go back up to the main hotel if you don't want to. They don't do main meals here but they do supply sandwiches of various varieties.
The only thing I would say is that the towels are not that comfortable and resemble throws more than towels? Perhaps they need to update these. And you get tokens that allow you to change them only 4 times during your stay... But they are okay to lie on the beach with unless you get sunburnt and then they really hurt as they are too hard?
The bars in the evening can get queues but they are cleared very quickly ... I suggest you queue as they don't like it if you just stand there looking hopeful?
In the evening it is long trousers for the men, or they aren't allowed entry into the restaurant, so please take note of this, they are quite strict in patrolling this and will turn you away?
My husband and I enjoyed it so much that we have already booked again for next year.. would definitely recommend if you want a nice relaxing holiday

Me and my fiancé recently stayed at hotel royal kenz and were impressed with the service the waiters gave us every meal time they would fetch us drinks and anything else we wanted , night entertainment was ok not great but we always found something to do always plenty of chairs to sit on even for the huge number of tourists that were there as well as us , hotel and pool areas were always clean and well kept and liked the fact security was on both front and back gates to ensure safety and stress free atmosphere from locals trying to hassle tourists to buy things you didn't want

We stayed at the royal kenz for 2 weeks in May. Our first time at the Kenz /Tunisia , but not the last- have already booked again for next year.
Hotel is immaculately clean, food good & plenty of variety.
Staff - great, nothing too much trouble, yes a small tip goes along way, but we were more than happy to tip for such excellent service and genuinely pleasant and helpful people!
Entertainment not to our liking, but everyone different, and we don't go away / choose hotel for entertainment.
Spa and indoor pool very good, outdoor pools very clean and well maintained. A great place for a restful holiday / break. There is nothing for children to do at this hotel - very few were staying when we were there.
Marina within walking distance, local 'tourist' shops very close to hotel. This hotel offers exceptional value for money, many people we met were returning guests which speaks for itself.

Have just come back from a 1 week stay as a couple and can honestly say we had a fab time. A bit surprised by the average reviews from people, however all I can say is that this holiday can be as good or as bad as you make it! We went to relax but also ended up horse riding, go-karting and jet-skiing as they were such a reasonable price. We also got a spa deal which was very reasonable and about half the price of the u.k.

We found it all very relaxing, yes sun beds are harder to find around the main pool area, however we managed to find plenty of space at 9.30/10 at the beach and by the afternoon there was plenty of room in both the gardens and the beach as everyone tends to go to lunch or back to their rooms. Pool area very clean, a bit noisy with people and music but if it did not have the entertainment people would complain it was boring! If you want to chill just go to the beach!

Food was great, we heard someone complaining that there was only pizza and pasta, well yes this was available every day but for the more adventurous there were tons of salads, meats and fish etc. we were confused why people would complain as I managed to have a different meal every night. We also went to the Indian and Italian al carte which were a nice change if you don't fancy the main restaurant. Steak restaurant was very good, yes you have to pay but for £40 we had a fairly decent bottle of wine and 3 courses each, try getting a decent steak etc. for that price elsewhere!

Tipping wise we were a bit confused how to do it, but we tipped our waiter about 5 dinar at lunch (around £2) and £10 on an evening, only if they had served us well! If you don't tip you still get good service, but by tipping we arrived at our table in our normal area and the waiter went to get us drinks immediately, just makes a tiny difference.

Overall a beautiful hotel, very clean and everyone extremely friendly so we will be back next year!

Room Tip: Superior room overlooking the gardens very quiet and a very good size.

Right, this hotel has a lot of good points. But for every good point there's a bad point to accompany it.
Overall a nice hotel with the majority of staff being helpful and friendly - but they'll only be helpful and friendly if you tip them!
On the whole the food was okay with quite a lot to choose from - but the meat was tough and its absolutely ridiculous trying to demand that men wear long trousers for dinner in 40 degree heat whilst women are walking around the dining areas half naked.....i refused and wore shorts, telling them i hadn't brought any trousers with me - they couldnt do anything and i dined in shorts for 10 days!!
The rooms were okay at first glance - but the handrail was missing from over the bath, ridiculous amounts of sealant had been put around the missing handrail area (see pictures), the grout in the bathroom was filthy, part of the skirting board was missing, the fridge was completely empty on arrival and there was sand under the rugs.
There's a safe in the room - but you have to pay 40 dinar for it - pay to protect your valuables or risk having them stolen (a pair of ear rings went missing from our room - they were only cheap but its not the point - we also spoke to other english couples who said things had either gone missing or been rummaged through)
There's no iron in the hotel - if you want your clothes ironing you have to put them in as laundry and pay for it - but i wouldn't trust them, they shrunk one of our friends expensive t-shirts. Have you ever heard of a hotel that doesn't have a communal iron that you can use?? Absolutely crazy.
None of the alcoholic drinks are named brands - you can get them in the American bar but you'll have to pay for them.
There's a gym - but once again, you have to pay for it (18 dinar a day - about £5)
There's entertainment - but its repetitive and some, not all, of the young lads on the entertainment team are slimey and are constantly trying to leer at, and hit on the young women.
The pools were nice - but, in the mornings, there was always broken glass around the pool near the amphitheatre from people dropping glasses the night before (see picture) - i got glass stuck in my foot on one occasion but got it out okay - why they let glass around there in the evenings is beyond me??
You can get a sunbed - but if you want one in a good spot then you'll have to get up early. I woke up at 6am a couple of times and there were towels out already. People were paying the night staff to put towels down for them!!
There are hassle free shopping centres - but if you dont go to them expect everyone else outside the hotel, in the shops and around the port, to be rude, somewhat intimidating and forceful.
The hotel clealy has a problem with ants as they were EVERYWHERE - even on the 2nd floor!!
From what we found, the majority of people there were English which made it more comfortable and we made some great friends.
The waterpark (Aquapalace) was good, as was the zulu trip with Thompson.
All in all, id say it was an average hotel - the actual holiday was brilliant, but only because of the other English people we met - they made the holiday.
If Thompson address some of the points above i may go back, if they don't then i can't see this hotel keeping its high rating for much longer

Room Tip: Tip everybody from the cleaners to the waiters - its the only way to get properly looked after. Get...

This hotel was great but we were not impressed with the entertainment. It was terrible, the same set of songs played two or three times daily with the same awful dance. The food was very repetitive and was not impressed with the Italian a la carte. Did not try the Indian so can not comment. Lovely pools but can get very packed especially this time of the year. Would not choose to return.

Me & my mother travelled here on the 3rd July to stay for a week.
From the moment we arrived to the moment we left we were well looked after by the friendly staff.
The rooms & hotel itself is immaculate, the decor is impressive modern with a Tunisian twist. The rooms are spacious & comfortable, with complimentary tea, coffee & bottled water, if you ever run out just ask & the staff will be more than happy to grab some more for you. Theres also a fridge & kettle in the room.Cleaners come in every day, towels are changed daily. Always plenty of hot water. TV in the room you will find a few English channels after searching through them.
The pools are great very clean & the temperature is just right. Theres two outside pools one where the activities are & one that is more quiet. I personally enjoyed the club songs sang around the pool & so did my mother who always joined in, it always brought a smile to our faces.
The beach is nice, although very small as each hotel own its own part. There's also a beach bar to get drinks & Panini's from, but take your own bottled water with you as they give it you from the tap.

The spa is very impressive inside, the indoor salt pool is great to escape from the sun or to cool off at the end of the day. We didn't end up having any treatments in the end as we got sun burnt but the prices were very reasonable & there were a lot of professional treatments to choose from.

Food was always good, not fantastic but good,i am however a fussy eater but i always managed to find something to eat.

Breakfast - eggs, croissants, cereal, toast, sausages, muffins, pancakes & more.

Dinner time- rice, chips, jacket potatoes, turkey, steak, salad, lasagne, vegetables, cottage pie & more.

Dessert - ice cream, cakes , jelly fruits, chocolate fountain & more, cheese & biscuits.

Drinks at dinner time was a little bit of an issue, it was always difficult to get one. You never quite know wether to help yourself or not. Always hard to find a glass to do so though. Cocktails also not that great very powdery & sugary & i normally love a good cocktail however the vodka was drinkable.
Waiters do work very hard, but have so many tables to look after, which what makes service so slow.

Entertainment was good & always a laugh, they will always smile & say hi when walking past.

Weather in July was very hot & we didn't have a bad day.

Special thanks to sayed (not sure how to spell it so sorry) helped us with our luggage & all throughout our holiday. So friendly & made our holiday special lovely man.

One thing to remember, only change your dinars when you need them as you can not take dinars out the country. If you are left with a large amount at the end of your holiday change it back at the hotel keep your receipt. You a can not spend it on duty free in the airport as you have to change it back before going through passport control & the exchange rate is bad & you will lose out.

Overall i would recommend this hotel & would return.
Thanks for a lovely holiday :)
