“Tired, scruffy, poor selection of food but what a location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

My wife and I have visited Tunisia 9 times and found that this hotel was ideally located right next to the Port El Kantoui Marina with a few steps from the rear doors to the restaurants and shops of the lovely marina and night life.

Equally, a few steps from the rear doors took us down steps to the pool with plenty of available sun beds and a 5 minute walk onto the clan and sandy beach which lacked sun beds unless you are prepered to get up at 6am to beat the russians and use the old towel reservation ploy. However each afternoon there is always a free bed right on the water's edge.

The beach side retaurant serves excellent food but the pool bar lacks selection and drinks.

All bars (except All Inclusive) serve bottled beer - however see the young waiter (always eager to please and justify his tip) will feth a cool glass of drahght from the A I Bar.

The rooms were average, large and we finally got a sea/pool view from the balcony which got the sunrise and was a suntrap untl about 12 mid-day - we refused two other rooms and settled for a 6th floor room with a double bed - perfect (once they repaired the shower head).

The minus points. The food, very basic and repetative but tasty and hot. Desserts and breakfasts were the worse I have had in Tunisia - only cooked meal for brekie was ommeletes and no toaster!!! Very disappojting but we lost weight!!!!

Entertainment - no animation team - the hotel lost it's 5 star rateing as they did away with the A. T - leaving two Mike and Prince who did their best. No pool entertainment except aqua erobics (of sorts). We did have 2 outside acts - a fakir (which we had seen before) two female / male X/dressing act which was funny but mimied and quite honestly i have seen a lot better in the canaries - there was a folklore night but we had another evening sitting at the marina watching the world go by and feeding the cats.

IMPORTANT: - In 2006 I left a welsh red dragon flag on a priate ship - it was still there last weeek. This time I took a bigger one and it was placed on the aft mast of the biggest pirate ship - if you see it please take a picture so I know if it needs replacing and I get to return (I have promised the crew a bottle of JD for flying the welsh flag (I haven't told them it will be minatures).

I can't think of anything else, except if your going and want to know more - email be at dafudd@gmail.com - I have pics of the last 6 years from P El K to the Sahara.

Take Tunisia as you find it, no frills, some tummy bugs if your not careful but kind and genuine people who look after ferel cats (f you like cats your OK with moi!! or should that me miow)

Enjoy the photos

PS - we didn't do the fairground rides viewed from the hotel - too old!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PS- this hotel has a good disco and nightclub - we heard it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On another plus factor - this time we steered away from the usual "T" and "T.C." agents and went with lowcostholidays.com - cheaper, no hassle and no real problems who arranged everything from the hotel, flights and transfers and got us back as well using Thomson fights with 20kg + 5kg bagage - we will defiinately use them again - but not the Hannibal.............. sad

Room Tip: Use the spar for a fantastic Hamman Scrub, mud soak and massage - well worth it

This hotel at first glance is a palace, it is very spacious, big double rooms. It is very grand. Rooms cleaned everyday fresh towels, view splendid!! We had the room with the pool and sea view!
It has a indoor pool, two pools outside and a kids pool, all well kept and mentained.
Food in the hotel was to our liking enjoyed very much with a good variety.
Location was brillient for us, as we are a family with young kids, hotel has its own private beach just two min from hotel where there are all sorts of water sports available. We took the kids on a pirate ship and a submarine to see marine life!
There is a lovely port just next to the hotel with lots of activity, and shops.
Oveall this was a wonderful holiday for us as a young family, we hope to go again next year!

with my friend we decided to go for a holiday at sousse we have chosen el hana palace Hanibal. because we had friends recomander this hotel. once we arrive at 0:30 we realized we'd have a good holiday because the animation was already an its height. gents of the kind reception we give the keys of the room and was advised to go for a ride in the discotheque of the hotel! (We love partying :) it came in the room is pleasant enough to deposit our bags and we go into the nightclub of the hotel salumbo club! and there we were very pleasantly surprised! lots of people .. the music was very up to date! (we could even ask the DJ to put our favorite songs :). the alarm clock in the room is really pleasant with sea views and beautiful gardens. the breakfast is hearty with lots of choices. the chairs and parasol are brand new and give us pleasure elongated along the sea! the icing on the cake of this hotel that's close to the beautiful Port El Kantaoui 15 seconds walk to get to port! in the after noon we played volleyball. in short I will not told all my holidays but I strongly suggest you the evening shows. basically my friend and I spent a wonderful holiday in this hotel. to party, relax (in the spa), sunbathe and discover !

visited at end of November .The weather rained and was cold and windy for the first week and the hotel was not heated in rooms or corridors .On our floor a lot of corridor lighting was turned off.The hotel staff didnt do anything about it and some bits of corridors were really quiet dark. The room was only hoovered once in two weeks.(carpeted).Food ok somedays but a lot of food was served heated up again from 2 days before.no drinks with dinner unless you bought alcohol at very high prices! The week before some money had been stolen from a guest that was in their coat pocket in the wardrobe .Some guests put padlocks on their wardrobes..Restaurant staff were very uninterested in guests and werent seen much other than to clear tables...Fleetway Travel.said there was a rep with the holiday. We never set eyes on one would have been nice as this was out first trip to Tunisia .Tunisia again ?? no fear Hannibal Palace should up their game. The beach was a joke all covered in cans and rubbish

Room Tip: Tip to get a good room and maybe a smile

We have been to tunisia a few times now and went for Hannibal Palace this time. Ok so their star rating differs from ours but its a different country. We were upgraded to seaview on arrival, the staff were very helpful and couldn,t do enough for you, unless you go all inclusive and are rude to them then they will treat you the same, seen it all this time from all nationalities. Food is probably repetative but comeon guys this is not spain!!!!!!!
The weather chose to rain for 4 days very bad flooding in some places, high winds and thunder storms but not fault of local people.
Hannibal Palace is right on edge of marina has lovely beach and great value for money. As for only 1 english channel then don,t go on holiday to these foreign countries stay at home and watch all channels on SKY!!!!!!!
These hotel people are very friendly they go out of their way to help you out even when weather beyond their control. Come on people give this place a go,they speak better english than we do arabic at least they try. I would give this hotel 7/10 which is pretty good

Room Tip: ask for sea view

I have recently just come back from a weeks stay at the Hannibal palace hotel. Approaching the hotel on the coach I had good expectations of it due to the grand size of it, but that soon came crashing down once we got checked in to our room.
The hotel barely makes 3 star in my opinion (and I have stayed some bad hotels). The dacor of the rooms are very dated with only 1 English speaking channel on the tv. The staff are rude and speak very little English. The bar staff are the only people I had time for.
The food of this hotel is very inconsistent with very limited choice (if you have certain food preferences or fussy what you eat you will struggle at this hotel).
The best thing I will say about the hotel is the location to the port and it's access to a nice beach, also the free access to wifi in the lobby.
If you have managed to find this hotel on a cheap package less than £200 then you should go for it, but otherwise leave it well alone. B&B is as far as you need to go with this hotel. Lots of food choice outside the hotel. Also avoid going in oct- jan as these are the colder months and you have a high chance of being stuck inside due to rain like we was. Other than that Tunisia is a lovely place defiantly worth a visit.

Everything was dirty, smelly and broken, rude staff despite of the tips. The location is great but don't expect anything above 2 stars
