“Simply Stunning! A resort for all ages”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 22, 2012

Myself and my friend just returned this morning, from a 7 night stay. I am very keen to get my opinion across, really just to to contradict the last very negative review. I would also like to mention that I base my opinion on my experience within the hospitality industry after spending 18 years in 5 star hotels and well know British cruise ships, of which standards have to be highly maintained, I now train people to those same standards.
Well we arrived at the hotel at around 11.30pm. The hotel is around a 40 min transfer from the airport. On arrival we were met by the porter who transported our luggage to the main reception, where we were greeted by a very nice, helpful Tunisian receptionist. There was a little confusion with our booking as we were not on the list, but this was sorted out very quickly, in the meantime a waiter immediately brought us a cocktail each on a tray, just what we needed! :D Before being taken to our room, which was in the main refurbished part of the hotel, I mentioned that we were very hungry as we had not eaten anything since leaving the uk. We immediately then we taken to the a la carte restaurant by the main pool bar, and although closed, we were given a lovely table, and asked if we would like water and a drink, of which we accepted and were brought a lovely bottle of wine. Because the restaurant was closed the chef quickly put some food together for us, which was some pasta, of which we were very grateful for.
Our room was very clean, air conditioning, quiet, with balcony that was private and not overlooked, it was also was close to the main bar and restaurant. There are maids that clean the rooms daily, change towels, bedding etc, however you must remember to put the 'please make up room' sign outside the door, otherwise it gets missed.
All areas of the hotel were extremely clean at all times, and very well kept, including the toilets which were spotless, always with soap and loo roll. Staff were on hand 24/7, there was even porters in reception all day, that were only to happy to help you with any request. I needed a different pillow at 2 am and this was sorted very quickly. All the water in all of the fountains was clean, as was all the white furniture that surrounded public areas as did the extensive amount of glass windows The hotel is areas are surrounded by gardens which again were well maintained and not once did I see any rubbish. All staff were always dressed extremely smartly and were well groomed and made us feel welcome at all times.
The restaurant gets a little busy at peak times, and it is at these times that tables may not be clean, however we usually would find a table where we would like to sit, be that outside in the shade or sun or inside. A waiter would then get the table ready while we went to the buffet. And if you chose to sit in a similar place each day, you usually had the same waiter, he would then make sure he saved a table for you, perfect! Food was ok, there was something to cater for every taste, however Tunisians are not favored on their food, many of the hotels in this area offered similar and that also included the English resort hotels, as I made a point of chatting to English people while out and about. I was especially impressed with the childrens buffet, which had been specially erected for the little ones, at there height with simple plain foods. The buffet restaurant also offered a pizza bar, pasta bar and a grill and pan bar there may be chefs cooking large fish, joints of meat, sausages and at breakfast you could even have a freshly cooked omelettes or fried egg.
During the day, you can choose between the private beach, indoor pool, 3 outside pools, the main one by the bar having the animation team, providing daily activities and general good humor and laughter to all. In the evening the team would put on an evening show, which they would also translate in English so we did not feel excluded. There is then a disco then in the theater. You then have the choice of relaxing in the hotels bars, although should you want to drink in The Lounge Bar for cocktails, these are not included in the all-inclusive package but can be charged to your room. I would highly recommend a visit because all the cocktails are made properly with fresh ingredients, you also get a snack with every drink ordered! We were stuffed after 3 cocktails each! :D
As mentioned in other reviews on here, this hotel is advertised to the the German and French market but please do not let this put you off as ALL staff speak English. We were also the only English in the hotel, however we made many friends and we actually enjoyed the fact that we were not surrounded by English , which for me, gave me the feeling I was a million miles from the UK! This is by no way Butlins in the sun, so if you fancy some Tunisian class, peace, culture and enjoy mixing with other nationalities, then this is the resort for you!
Please do not be put off by some of the negative reviews on here.

“Not for the British”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

We have just returned from a week staying at this hotel. We were the only British people there. The staff were suprised that we had come from Gatwick as it was not very often they met anyone British. The waiters were very helpful and i must say have to work hard to keep the main eating area clear. Most nights it was very hard to find a clean table or cutlery. The food was really not that good and we didnt think the choice was great either. I wouldnt say this is a 4* hotel or that it has been recently refurbished. The reception area was really looking dusty and the glass door was really dirty the whole time we were there not good to see on arrival, neither is the dirty water in the water features as you walk to reception. The room was big but it wasnt very clean. the furniture had been wiped with a wet dirty cloth and left dirt smears that stayed all week! The worst thing about the place was the flys!!!!!!!! NOT JUST 1 OR 2 but lots. It rained few a few hours most days but that was no hardship but be warned if you dont have a book or something to do you will be dissapointed that there is no english speaking channel.

We would go to Tunisia again as the place is lovely and the people are so friendly, but not to this hotel.

“Peace and quiet or active holiday the choice is yours”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 16, 2012

Spent one week at this hotel in September 2021 with my daughter we wanted a peaceful , relaxing week , we got it. We were the only English guests in the hotel , the majority being French. This was not a problem , the staff were very friendly , helpfull and more than happy to speak English as our French is limited. The hotel has its own private strip of beech with free sun beds and shades. There is a "quiet" pool for those who wish to swim and sunbathe in peace , and another pool where the animation team provide varied activities throughout the day. There ia also a small children's pool and an indoor pool and Spa.
The meals at the hotel are all buffet style with lots of choice so there is always something for everyone.
It is a large but low rise hotel , no more than two stories , lots of disabled access to the ground floor. Our twin bedded room actually consisted of two bedrooms , one with a large seating area ,a separate newly refurbished bathroom and toilet and a box room for storage of suit cases etc. We even had our own private sun terrace.
We were staying on an all inclusive basis but chose to eat one evening at the beach bar for which there was a reasonable charge. There was also a newly opened cocktail bar on site cocktails were good and reasonably priced.
Money exchange and safety deposit boxes are available at reception.
The hotel is about a 25 minute walk away from the marina at Port el Kantaoui along a busy road , there are taxis available outside the main gate of the hotel which are inexpensive. The large town of Sousse is only a twenty minute taxi ride away.
We got the holiday we were looking for and will remember it fondly.

“The only English there!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

Yes that's right, this is a French owned hotel, not in English brochures, but don't let that put you off. We arrived about midnight, and whilst the formalities of the registration process were being dealt with, and forms filled in, we were told to get a drink, from the bar (we were all inclusive). The bar is 24 hours, unlike other hotels in the locality! We were given a large family room, excellent for a family, and very spacious, especially when there's only 2 of you! The room was next to the restaurant, yet we never heard any noise. There were 2 air conditioning units, keeping the rooms very cool, these are also free. The following day we went to the Grenade restaurant (that's how its spelt, but don't forget its French). they cater for all tastes and dietary needs, anyone who can't find something to eat is either used to Michelin 5 star, or just incredibly picky! You can choose to eat inside the restaurant, or outside shielded from the sun by large shades. From English to Tunisian and European dishes, all are prepared well. Out and about, there are 2 adult pools outside, and an indoor pool, and 2 children's pools outside and plenty of sunbeds. The private beach is about 300 yards from the hotel, again plenty of sunbeds, and shade, although mind your head on the thatched parasols, as they can be a bit low. All the staff were very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them, they all speak English, as well as French, German, and Italian, and made the 2 of us feel very welcome. The animation team work extremely hard, and apart from taking care of all the sports available, also do the Aqua aerobics in the pool, and in the sea, and also help with the dispensing of towels, before practising for the evening entertainment! In the early evening they are also present to help with the dancing (any style) with the guests.
The Spa as sampled by my other half was a great experience in being pampered.
It was just a shame that we had to leave after 10 days of being waited on. Must brush up on my French and German though! This is a well kept secret from the English.

Room Tip: Visit the port, but head towards the Hawai centre for better prices on the goods, no haggling and ch...

“Fantastic holiday”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 20, 2012

I really enjoyed all my holiday.
Very good service, great food and activities, beautiful experiences and excursions.
The food was varied, and together with Tunisian and International cooking, you could also enjoy Italian food.

The room was large, silent and clean, with a nice view.
The assistence was available 24/7.
The holiday was all inclusive, and it's been very nice not to worry about caring money with me.

The only negative point if I have to find one, there is no gym. But there are courses of aquagym, step, salsa and many more.

Special thanks to Fou Fou for the animation and sports activities and Valentina for the Italian assistence.
