“Good holidays”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2012

Good holidays in this hotel that deserves really its 3 stars ( There are many more expensive 4 stars hotels in Monastir which have the same level that Delphin Ribat)
Good quality at rather low price.
The food is good but has nothing exceptional.
Our room was very clean and rather big with a wonderful view on the beach. The housekeeper was very nice and our room was cleaned every day, towels were changed regularly. The only problem is the bed that was quite inconfortable.
The animation is nice, the guys are really motivated to entertain hotel residents and are always in a good humor.
The location of the hotel is really great, close to everything: to Medina, to the port ( where you can take the boat to Kuriat islands with its wonderful beach), and 100 meters from the private beach.

Negative points:
- Receptionists could have been nicer. When we arrived, they did not explain nothing, just gave the key of the room without any "hello, how are you?"
- The hotel is very good only for All Inclusive clients. If you have the half-board, it is not the good place because to my opinion the hotel is not really adapted to this type of clients ( almost all the tables in dining rooms are reserved for All Inclusive residents , and half-board residents have to search the available table to eat by themselves, and sometimes it is quite impossible to have one)

But in general, we are satisfied. Very good 3 star hotel.

This was the first time I had been to Tunisia and we arrived at around midnight. The check in staff seemed very polite and we were led to our room. Unfortunatley all the bars in the hotel seemed to close at midnight so it was lucky I brought some of my own!! We arrived at room 100, and I am not the fussiest person and have stayed in various standard hotels all over the world, but this was the worst room I have ever seen!! No balcony, the double bed was two beds shoved together, the toilet had a massive loud sewage pipe from roof to floor, the beds had hairs and stains on them, the floor had toe nails, hairs and just general dirt!! I continue, the layout was weird, it was split in 2 curved rooms, the view was of a car park, the walls were filthy, and the door was smaller than all others at about 5ft. Oh yes, and only 1 pillow!! An absolute disgrace!! We of course went downstairs to complain and have a room change, which we were assured we could do the next morning as the hotel was full that night. Of course I then spent the next hour chasing the extra pillow and water I has ordered down.
So, the next morning, the manager was at reception and initially tried to fob us off, but we took our suitcases down and insisted.
We were given another room which WAS like the website suggests and was all fine, the double bed was still just 2 beds shoved together but you cant win them all!
Some general points other than that:
2 pools, both very nicely layed out. However due to activities there is dreadful music booming from large speakers for most of the day so dont go if you like quiet sunbathing.

Very close to the beach, and some souvenir shops up the road!

We did the camel and pirate ship trips both of which are very enjoyable and I would recommend.

The food I thought was nice, although the que for the fresh pancakes and omelets gets annoying.

Staff can be incredibly officious. One idiot in the restaurant downright refused to let us sit in a completely empty area of seats despite no one sitting there all night.

Bars never seem to have change so try pay exact money.

Go all inclusive to avoid the agro, although it should be pointed out that process are reasonable for drinks etc.

The entertainment staff are irritating at times during the day, always disturbing your sunbathing, trying to drag you into the pool for water aerobics etc.

The shop staff within the hotel get annoying always trying to get you in!!

Try not to fly to Tunis if staying here, it is MILES AWAY!! About a 3 hour coach transfer.

Supermarkets do not sell alcohol, but hotel does.

I think thats it, but all in all, as long as you don't get room 100 I would recommend staying here.

My ratings are directed at the 2nd room I had, the first room would be awful for everything.

I was some 3 stars hotel in Tunisia, but this the first where the price level and the ratio of good. the food is good, you can find salats, meat, pasta, cct. Sweet, fruits are still on the table. The rooms are standard, normal perfect for the 3 stars hotel. The swimming pool is not big but clear the garden also. The animators are very good. The beach is normal but somethimes dirty it is depend from the weather. If you want to go the cheap but good hotel i can recommend the Ribat.
