“Overpowering”

Shop owners will try anything to get you into their shop, to the point where they stand in front of you and block your way. Not relaxing at all and quite intimidating.

“For heavens sake don't say you like something”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 4, 2013

this is a lovely place but the shop keepers can be a bit pushy, stand firm and say No, they will be putting things in your hands putting necklaces and bracelets on you they do just about anything to try and get a sale, I left a shop because he wouldn't drop his price and I walked into another and then the shop keeper came running in after me saying ok madam ,I will give it to you for your price, but because i had entered another shop, that shop keeper told him to get out ...what a palava , a good experience but not 1 id want every day, a must though if only for the Medina experience ,also watch out for men saying they are the cook in your hotel (your wristband gives it away) they are not and they say they will take you to a government shop where everything is half price , well its rubbish they are only taking you to a family members shop, selling either leather goods or rugs....just say to him" good im glad ive seen you, can I have the 20 Dinars back that I lent you yesterday morning", they'll soon back off...lol...have fun
