I stayed at the hotel le saphir in hammamet for two weeks this August and
my board basis was all inclusive, i was really shocked when i was told that
the only drinks i could have was beer, vodka and gin, not a diet drink in sight for children all they had was coke, sprite and fanta, all drinks were served in a small tumbler which was no bigger than a whiskey glass, you were not allowed to by a round of drinks only one per person.
their were no ice creams for children.
rooms were clean but basic, pool was o.k. and the hotel and grounds were
actually o.k.
the food was constantly re-heated and every night their was a barbeque
style buffet, do not eat at the pool bar as again this food was constantly
cooked and then cooked again.
I did not think if was valur for money to go all inclusive at this hotel.
their were constant queues for the restaraunt and bars.

I Have just returned from the Hotel Saphir / Thalassa Village
and would NEVER go back!
The hotel Room was basic but clean, sheets and towels changed every day, the food was OK, but the queues horrendous!, the bar staff by the murky pool were attentive, If not all inclusive then sun loungers are charged at 1 1/2 dinars per day, and the grumpy old man insists that you get a sponge mat even if you dont want one! he even throws all of your belongings onto the floor to put the mat on the bed!, dont give him any money as someone else collects it! beware also of the porter who trashes your cases and haunts for tips, whilst there a bag containing camera phone and money was stolen, we didnt think that staff had taken it but possibly other guests! dont leave anything for a second!! outside the resort i was accosted by the locals who follow your every step, I was almost mugged when a moped drew up and tried to snatch my bag, luckily I managed to hold on to it, and gave him a quick punch and they rode off! The beach is nice, but once again the locals try to accost women and try to steal your belongings, Yasmine Hammamet is nice and new and seems a lot safer, the Medina is a great experience but ruined as you cant look at any goods without being hassled by the seller, beware the carpet shops, if they get you in the back it takes ages to get away from them,
remember that NOTHING IS DONE FOR FREE here! you can only change your money back at the airport where you get ripped off, and duty free and the other airport shops only take other currancies and NOT DINARS
I'll never go back to Tunisia too much hastle and cant relax there!
