“No problems here a lovely place!!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2011

Just back from a week at this hotel,i have to say there was no problems here, but the Lybyan War has kept people away in droves, the hotel is great, rooms are big and spacious, well kept and clean, bring a kettle and iron though,we ate out most nights,i have to recommend the bella marina,da franco, les citronniers, restaurants which are all within walking disatance or for more upmarket get a taxi to yasmine only 3euro in a cab, there is a short cut to the beach at the back of hotel about 300 mtrs here is lovely clean sandy stretch but many sellers just say no thanks ,they understand, the staff at hotel are superb ,barmen saber and riath, waiters salim and monsour, simply great guys, you can change money at reception no problem its about 2dinars to 1euro,its only 3euro to hire the safe deposit box at reception for a week,i advise everyone to do this, many of the trips were cancelled due to low numbers,we took a trip round resort in a caleche, only cost 10 euro for an hour, his only customer for the day,the people of tunisia are so friendly they really need the tourists as they are very poor, they really appreciate a few dinars tips,so be generous they will thank you for it,the food was fantastic everywhere we went ,fruit doesnt look good but tastes devine esp fresh dates, its so cheap you will only pay half the cost of bills back home, the airport is brand new and so quick to pass through, you will have a good holiday here, rest assured and the sun is almost guaranteed to shine in the summer months, just go and enjoy!!!

We are back 2 weeks now from our stay at Royale Residence. We had a wonderful time. Our room was perfect. Baya our cleaning lady cleaned our apartment every day changing sheets and giving us fresh towels. Monsour, Riath and Shaker tended to all our needs while we were there. We ate at the sister hotel Le Hammamet and had wonderful meals. We had plenty of everything for breakfast and had our evening meals in the A La Carte Restaurant which were wonderful. The staff in both hotels from the receptionists to the waiters and bar persons were all so friendly and helpful.

The beach area was brilliant. Plenty of beach barbecues to choose from. The weather was absolutely brilliant.

Needless to say it is not our first time to these hotels and it certainly will not be our last. Looking forward to next year already!

We could not fault anything other than the major delays at the 2 airports. We travelled with Sunway but on saying that the rep for Sunway in Hammamet (Anthony) was absolutely brilliant and great fun.

We bought holiday from Sunway !!! At the beginning we had delayed 4 hours. When we arrived to hammamet it was 5 a.m. On the street were a lot of people . In hotel we just comlete a form and get a key to our room. New day was the worst day in Tunesia . We went out to find some shops with food it was so hard because we looked for some more then Tunesian Mini Market . But one man from the shop with souvenirs told us when to look for bread, milk and rest things . It wasn't that bad . We found a lot of good things to eat from the Tunisian specials .
The Royale Residence - staff in hotel were friendly and helpful.
The rooms - we had one bedroom apartment . ROOMS were big and clean . In apartment we had tv , frige, cooking rings , pots, plates , glass, hair dryer . Every room had balcony with 2 chairs and table . The balcony were so big .
The rooms were clean, and the lovely ladies cleaned rooms every day.
The swimming pool is big and clean bUt you have too pay for sunbeds. Its always waching by a life guard . Its so nice man always smiling and talking to you !!!
The beach is nice but sometimes it;s not clean . There was 2 days with yellyfish but Tunesian people take it from the sea and put under the sand to kill them . It wasn;t a lot of it . The water was warm. There was a aqua gym on the beach usually between 11-12 . It was so fun.
BAD NEWS iS THAT BETWEEN rOYAL RESIDENCE AND LE HAMMAMET HOTEL( THERE ARE A SISTERS HOTEL) I SAW A RAT - THERE ARE A GARDENS THERE .
We didn't like the old medina in hammamet . There was a lot of people and it wasn't safe there. It's so poor place.
In new resort Yasmine Hammamet there are a lot of arabic wich they will say that they are a waiter in your hotel and they have a free day and also that you don't remember them because they look different with out the uniform - 100% of the time they will not be your waiter . SO BE AWARE OF THAT
We also went to sahara trip it's amazing what you can see on the way and the best thing is ride on camel on Sahara!!! Even I was afraid of that animal I miss my white camel right now:(

I DO NOT RECOMMEND TO EAT ICECREAM AND FRUITS IN RESTAURANTS AND BARS BECAUSE I WAS SICK AFTER IT !

Also I don't recommend the Sunway Travel Agency .
The resident didn't care about us the return flight was again delayed .
And you can hear thats the first time but if you ask other people you hear that every week the flights are delayed .
I enjoyed my holiday and i hope so i will be back there in future !!!!

Greetings to lifeguard on the swimming pool!!!!

Went to this hotel with my boyfriend, and had a great time! Was a bit dissapointed about the hotel, but it was worth the price we paid. The apartments was big and beautiful, but it was very dirty! We wouldn`t have cooked at the kitchen it we got paid for it! The fridge was full of old fat, and I don`t think it`s been washed for years. The bathroom was also dirty. We went on half board, witch included breakfast and dinner. The restaurant was in the sister hotel, The Hammamet Hotel. To get there we walked througt a very beautiful garden. The breakfast was not very good, but we didn`t starve. The dinner was very good. Big fantastic buffet, with new choice of food every night. The beach was amazing! One of the best beaches I`ve ever seen. We went to the beach by the Miramar hotel, and paid a few dinars for sunbeds. The city is about 30 minutes walk from the hotel, but It`s almoast free to take a taxi. A lot of good restaurants and shopping by the hotel. All in all a very good, cheap and relaxing holiday. We will return to this hotel again.

Hi!
4 stars according to apollo. But this is my review.
First they charge for sun beds which should be included when you pay for a 4 star hotell. Breakfast was poor so we bought our own breakfast. Dinner buffe was OK but not a romantic restaurant. It was inside a quite nice cave. But friendly waiters, though tasteless food.

Reception could be better but pool staff was very cool and the door/bagage men.
Wireless Internet which was very nice.
Some restaurants I recommend close to the hotell. Just to the right of the hotell you have a small restaurant with good food for very good prices and the owner is very nice. Opposite to the restaurant you have a fruit shop which has good and the owner is very friendly and funny.
I rented a car from Eurocar close to the hotel and the owner is OK. 80 D for a FIAT Punto for one day.
Tunisia was good but my recommendation is to go elsewhere for your money.

The Royale Residence was amazing - the staff at the apartments were so friendly, clean and helpful although basic we didn't watch much TV but abit more than CNN would have been nice - Riad and Larry are the best bar guys in town!!! The rooms were spacious and clean, and the lovely ladies cleaned and made beds - although they never dusted!! Watch out for the 'captain' he sells Pirate Boat trips and camel rides - where they are amazing he is relentless as soon as you arrive at the reception. (I would recommend the pirate boat if you like diving off of boats far out at sea!) Health and safety is not in Tunisia so they plant these metal hoops in the ground which take you by surprise if you are not expecting them,

We went half board and so we ate our breakfast and evening meals at the sister hotel. After one week the food was getting boring there is only so much veal stew and wild boar I can eat!!! The Animation team were FANTASTIC memo, bryem and Scooby (and please do not forget Samira who runs the mini club - she does the best henna freehand tattoos going) Scooby and his Michael Jackson feet were so amazing to watch - also there comedy acts had me and my hubby howling (anyone who watches the doctor sketch and Day-O will know what I mean).

The daily market in the medina in old hammamet is to be met with a steel heart and a forceful La (no in arabic) then they will ignore you and continue to tell you they give you good price - don't be forced - be firm, polite and if they still continue we got advised to threaten them with the police. They think that we think they all look the same so they will say that they are a waiter in your hotel - please be aware of this!! 99.9% of the time they will not be your waiter and they are either on the look out for sales or wish to take your dinar.

I enjoyed my holiday but wouldn't go back

We decide to spend our holiday in Tunisia, finding some quiet and green place in this country. We choose Hammamet and hotel apart Royal Residence which share all amenities with hotel Le Hammamet (2 pools, restaurant, pipe-shisha bar, night club with animation team...). Whole complex is located in green area, with lot of trees and flowers. Hotel is near beautiful beach with grit. We enjoy in walk to the beach through the shade of aromatic jasmine. Rooms are big and comfortable with small kitchen and nice terrace. Bathroom is clean and modern with bath. Rooms were cleaning every day (with usual small tips every 2 -3 days). Food was very tasty and various. Hotel animation team is the best in their business - greetings for Sam and Momo:)
When you want to fill nightlife atmosphere, you just take a cheep cab and go to the new complex Yasmine Hammamet (7-8 km), with many restaurants, night clubs and modern resort hotels.
We would like to recommend Hammamet and hotel Royal Residence to everyone who want relaxation holiday.
