“Sentido Phenicia amazing animation team!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 17, 2013

I have experienced a lot of hotels and I myself have worked in hotels and this hotel excels itself in all ways. Me and my partner went for a week in January 2013 it was the best holiday I have had. The hotel is immaculately clean and very open plan which I found very nice and social. The rooms were very well cleaned having a maid service daily in you so want the views from our balcony was amazing having mountains to the left and the beach to our right AMAZING!! On our holiday we met some amazing people not only other customers but the staff in the hotel were amazingly friendly. The animation team in the hotel are purely good honest people who are very genuine, we found the easy to talk to a get on with. I was so comfortable with them and found them so engaging that I even joined them in one of their shows the lord of the dance feeling completely at ease and enjoyed this very much. "Amira" became like a sister to me over our holiday and she is very good at her job watch her dance and you will see that. "Shaggy" and "Mouse" these boys you really need to have a good night out with really good lads. "Aldo" and "Dido" now these boys are very passionate about their jobs which I found very refreshing, they dance and love to dance. Also "peptio" amazing break dancer. Well these guys made our holiday what it was thanks guys hope to see you all again soon.

Sentido Phenicia is one of the best hotels i have ever been to. I take three or four holidays each year however this resort by far has been the best.

The hotel its self is an impressive place, living up to its star rating in every way. I stayed for a week in January 2013 and found this really to be the holiday of a lifetime. We were on a package deal with Thomas Cook, who upon arrival hadn't even booked us into the hotel, which was one of the worst things a holiday company could do. With no rep from Thomas Cook in sight (disgusting!) the hotel reception staff were absolutely excellent, within a matter of minutes we were set up with a room and all settled in with no problems what so ever. The room itself was almost perfect, first impressions were slightly small, however this turned out to be perfect for us as a large room only increases the idea of staying in the room on holiday instead of getting out and experiencing what really is a great place.

The reason we found this to be such a great holiday was mostly to do with the ANIMATION TEAM !!! They were absolutely fabulous !!! With a special mention to 'Shaggy' 'Amira' 'Mouse' 'Peppito' 'Aldo' 'Dido' 'Maria' & 'Achmed' (the best dj in the world). These guys and girls were genuinly some of the nicest people ive ever met on a holiday, normally you speak to reps or entertainment teams and you can tell that they are nice but are putting on a forced or fake personality in order to do their jobs and keep customers happy. This was not the case! These lovely and genuine people were the whole reason our holiday was so magical. Thank you again guys! For this reason alone i WILL be returning in the summer (if not before as well)

Overall this was a fabulous holiday, a must for families and couples a like. A very good Hotel, and an Amazing Animation Team. Thank you to you all, and we look forward to seeing you again as soon as possible.

All our love,

Luke & Abby x

I have travelled the world for over 40 years--in fact stayed in this hotel, with my parents--in 1984.
It was great then--it is a lot better now!!!I
The food, drinks, bars, service were all Fantastic. The staff have all been very well trained, and everyone, from the waiters, porters, reception, pool guys, were all so friendly and helpful!!
it is a tremendous help; if you speak French; as it is their second language!
The A la Carte restaurant is well worth a visit!!
The New Years Gala Diner was superb--so many courses, we started with cavier, smoked salmon and Sushi!
By the time the sweets were paraded round--at about 11.30--I had lost the will to eat!!
The Animation team were amaxing--working so hard with 2 different shows--while we ate.
It was the best Gala dinner I have ever been at.
The grounds are beautiful-the swimming pool heated to 27 degrees, and there is a Turkish bath.
The beach is beautiful and clean; and there is so much to do in the area!!
The animation team and the shows in the evening are great!!
Loads of day time activities, from dance classes to Yoga, Pilates to petang, with a side order of Archery and darts.
Don't miss the trips to the local market at Nabeul-- be prepared to really haggle--be cheeky--preferably in French--you'll get away with murder!
Then enjoy!with some very good wine taisting after; a great trip!!
The Roman remains at Carhage are awesome, and the Andulician Village of Sidou Bou Said--fascinating. All blue and white houses--but I wouldn't pay £3,6 million for one.
The museum is fascinating--loads of Tunisian Wedding dresses. The site is very steep--not for the mobility challenged!!
The Marina at Yasmin Hammamet is well worth a visit--about 750 fantastic boats--I nearly bought a Pirate Cruiser--but the captain wouldn't haggle.
The Corridors in the main building are very long and dark--take a torch to see to open your door.
Some of the rooms in the Main building are a little "tired" and In need of refurbishment--apparently some of them will be done later in the year!!
Top tip--ask for a newer room in the Breakfast block.
All in all if you go I'm sure--whatever your age you will have a great tie--i certainly did--and it's very good value for money!!

Room Tip: Ask for a refurbished room-or one in the breakfast block!!

Loved this hotel and its staff. We stayed over new year and the New Years Eve Gala was AMAZING!! We had a 6 course dinner and drinks on our all inclusive, could not believe it!

Talking about food.. The all inclusive is the best I have EVER had, and I always go 'all inclusive'. There was always variety and in 1 week we didnt see the same food! My boyfriend was even happy and he is quite fussy! You get allocated a table in the restaurant for the week, we were pleased with this as it was located well - However I think if you were near the buffet table I probably wouldnt be too pleased with everyone walking around my table! We were also seated with another English couple for the week! This could have gone two ways.. Luckily for us we all got on great and spent the week together :)

The staff - the BEST service I have EVER received! We did tip throughout the week and I understand that helps but I never felt like the friendliness or helpfulness was false. I can't wait to see the waiters again and the hotel porter, what lovely people. Really made our holiday!!

So, weather wasnt really up to much, around 18 degrees which was fine really as there are plenty of excursions to go on! Go to Nabual market - Friday morning, the old medina and Hammemet Yasmine with its beautiful beautiful harbour.

The hotel has 2 pools, one of which was too cold to use in December. The other one was half indoor half outdoor and is heated, this was fine to take a dip in.

I believe there was a lot happening in the day by the animation team but we didnt really participate in this.. We were out and about or at the bar! Oh the bars - lovely seating areas and there are 3 in total. Each night the hotel puts on shows so you really don't need to leave, saw ABBA - actually really good! The American Bar is cool and you can smoke :)

I would rate this hotel as a 4*, it was clean and fresh. Ok honestly the rooms are basic but WHO CARES?! YOU ARE ON HOLIDAY GET OUT OF YOUR ROOM!!!!

So all in all FANTASTIC! Tunisia is a really interesting country with a lot of history and lovely people - be prepared to haggle and tip and you will have a fab time!

See you next new year Phenicia! :)

xx

My first visit to Tunisia was a great experience. Great hotel, excellent food with wide choice and all the staff were friendly, highly professional and hard working. New Year Gala was memerable and having entertainment between the courses was an excellent idea. I will definately return for another stay.

My Husband and I arrived at the hotel by coach from the airport and the impression was good as the coach pulled up outside. This impression soon changed when we herded like cattle into the entertainment hall that was smelly, dark and dreary.

The room itself was ok but not impressive. The water needed to be running for at least 1/2 hour before you could get a shower. The double bed only had a single duvet on it and when a larger one was requested a single size blanket arrived. The bed itself was hard and uncomfortable and if you suffer from back pain DONT GO.

The food over the New Year Period was good and a lovely gala meal was served on New Years Eve, but as the hotel emptied of people after New Year the quality and quantity food deteriorated in style.

The staff were laid off after the Year that resulted in poor service and the cleaning of the hotel suffered.

The remaining staff were all very pleasant and did what they could to please.

This is a very tired hotel that is crying out for refurbishing. Please do not be fooled by the star rating - it's a English 2/3 star.

Room Tip: A good room from talking to others is more by luck than judgement.
