“No worries”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2010

I read the reviews before we went, and was a bit concerned. But now we have returned I
Cannot see what all the complaints are about. We found the food very good, and as I,m a coeliac, the rep arranged for the head waiter to met me every meal time and take me round all the dishes, explain what they where, and he told me what I could and could not eat.
The hotels beach area was fine for the sea, the sand, and great sun beds, but the staff on the beach appeared to think they were on holiday, a bit too relaxed. The toilets on the beach leave a lot to be desired. My granddaughter wouldn't use them so it was a 5 minute walk back to the hotel.

Tipping was not looked for but, a 50p tip worked wonders. I gave the waiter a £1 tip and every meal time our drinks were on the table waiting for us.
We found the hotel to be clean, but a bit tired in places. The rooms were cleaned every day and the towels and sheets were changed every day.
The entertainment may not have been the best, but the animation team kept my little one amused 3 times a day, so we are not complaining.
The passage ways are wide, so the kids run along so a bit of noise echo,s around the room, but that's not the hotels fault. For an all inclusive hotel I think you get your money,s worth.
I have stayed in worse hotels in Spain and in Turkey, so if you have booked to go to this hotel, don't worry and enjoy your holiday. If you have a problem see the rep Ondine, she is great. We would be happy to back tomorrow.
Comments have been made about the locals keep on about coming into their shops, if pele think Tunisia is bad then visit Turkey. Here I found a sharp no thank you and they left you alone.

just back from chick chan, had a great time with the couples we met, thanks for the dancin mark, had a ball.the hotel itself is a bit dated, nothing a new lick of paint and some good scrubbing in bits wouldnt fix.our bathroom was quite mouldy round the bath and the tiles were needing a good scrub, some new duvet covers without holes would be nice too.overall we had a good time, the animation team are great, tried really hard to get you involved and really funny.as for the food, you will find something to suit you every night just your typical buffet style, lukewarm, repetetive, but with more choice than your usual spanish hotels.you dont mind the tipping as they deserve it,nothings too much trouble for them, wether you tip them or not.we went the camel trip, booked it through the wee guy at the hotel,it was excellent, give it a go,we went the pirate ship trip, went on a bad day the sea was really rough nearly everyone was sick, didnt enjoy that,a wee tip for it,wait till you get up, see if its a nice day, then book it at the marina, not much difference in the price, but they are very in your face as soon as you leave the marina heading out to sea, trying to sell you bandanas, grabbing you to get your picture taken,(i saw one of them grab one woman by the hair) very aggressive.the actual complex has nothing for you to do,unless you want to be harrassed in every shop, and you will be guaranteed to bump into the chef from your hotel and be invited back to his brothers shop for some coffee or tea,we fell for it and we werent the only ones, they know what hotel you are staying in by your all inclusive wrist band,so watch out for that, the flies are horrendous, never had any in the restuarant, the room,or down in the cabaret area, but you couldnt sit anywhere else without being overrun with them, horrible.the hotel overall is definetely not 4 star,3 star just we would say, another year of no refurbishment and the hotel should be rated 2* plus.

This is a lovely hotel with friendly staff the Rep was fantastic always there with a smile and always very helpful ,however the hotel was badly let down by the food in the dining room it was buffet style but there was also a carvery ,when my husband went to get the chicken on the carvery he was given a bite size piece of meat and the man in front of him asked for the leg of the chicken the chef cut the leg in half and gave hin the bone of the end part with no meat attached a little girl behind me was given the skin and no meat.Potatoes were raw and cold ,chips half cooked We were on an all inclusive package so would have expected better. We ahve stayed at other Iborostar hotels in other countries and the standard of food was far superior
If the food was improved on this would be a fantastic hotel however there would have to be a lot of changes in the dining room

We have just returned from the Chick Khan. We will never go back to Tunisia again. Arrival at the airport, 3 flights on one luggage conveyer. As soon as got out of the airport jumped on by young lads wanting to “help” with your trolley, and then demanding money. The hotel is only 3* at the most, and how it got into the “Thomas Cook Style” section we will never know. The food was very repetitive, poorly labelled and only ever warm, never hot. Flies every where, very bad at the pool bar. Animation team very aggressive in wanting you to buy tombola and bingo tickets with very poor prizes to the winners. The staff at the hotel generally good however tips have become the norm. The Thomas Cook rep Ondin was excellent. I would not recommend this hotel to people with mobility problems not a hand rail to be seen. The local people outside the hotel were a real pain, trying to get you into their shop, outrageous prices that had to be haggled for, I do understand that this the norm for this part of the world, but to be abused when you decided not you buy (why would anyone want to put themselves through this is beyond me).

while the hotel was fairly good & the staff very helpful and pleasant the food left something to be desired. It was the same old same old each day. The buffet was too spread out that you had to search each day before you could select food and not replenished often enough, the pool bar floor was very greasy & the food not covered well therefore the flies were all over the food. The pool was quite cold & not very clean. The whole hotel was looking tired and in need of some TLC. The Mexican resturant was very good & the other hotel you could visit for the Italian evening was excellent considering they were both 4star the Chich Khanin my opion should have only been 2+ star in comparison. We went with Thomas Cooke arrival & departure at the airport was a complete shambles there were no visa on the aircraft and only German or Arabic at the airport this caused a backlog on trying to enter the country. Having stayed at other Iberostar hotels in the past we were very disapointed this time so much so we will think twice befor booking another.

After reading some of the reviews on this site we were slightly nervous of what we could expect from this holiday. NO WORRIES. From the moment we arrived at 2.30 am in the morning the service from the staff got Better and Better and it started really well so that is saying something. We asked to change our rooms as the first ones were not quite ideal and were moved to almost perfect ones, My daughter and kids new room had a problem with the flush in the loo, so I went to reception to ask for a fix, By the time I got back to her room the fitter was already on site.. Hows that for Service!! now we had perfect rooms.
The Animation team we very friendly and made us feel part of the family very quickly, Of particular mention should be Daly who had my grandson who's six entrhalled every day,(Wheres Marley), and Kimo who as the Animation leader/ Chico? said was sponsored by Durrcell and Du>>X 1 a bundle of energy!!
Yes the team will try to sell you their CDs,DvDs and t-shirts etc, but once you have turned down a couple of times they give up and just entertain you if you want to be. If not they leave you to enjoy the pool and other facilties. The evening entertainment was very good, Particulaly the Cabaret nights which were full of tomfoolery. As other reviewers have said pay is not comparable to UK stanadards so tips are appreciated, however not expected, We tipped on an irregular basis and found all the staff attentive and good humoured.

We went to the Hotel Beach twice and found the area to be a little tired, and when we went the sea was not at its calmest so only swam in the sea once.We also as a family went to Africain Dream trip at Frigulia Park, Zoo Great, Entertainment Great, Food a disappointment compared to hotel. We did the pirate ship trip, booking at the marina, a ten minute walk from hotel and saved ourselves about sixty dinar over the five of us.We found the Pirate show to be stunning but they were a lot more pushy in their sales technique
My wife and I did the Sahara Explorer trip, two days of very early starts,(ChichKhan laid on staff to supply brekies before we left on day one at 5.am. Very imppressed), That trip was very tireing but worth it.
We also took full advantge of the "Dine Around" option which made a break from the all inclusive fare varied though it was.
The only slight critism that could be and has been mentioned is that there are a very few areas of the hotel that could do with a lick of paint but nothing to detract from your enjoyment of you time spent there.

Before going to the Chich Khan i had read numerous reviews and none were the same, some liked and some didnt so i didnt really know what to expect...
Well i need not of worried. I travelled with 5 other girl friends and we all had the most fantastic time ever!!! All started well with 4 of us getting a fantastic bedroom with two double bedrooms and two double bathrooms and a gorgeous pool view.
The food was absolutely fab always plenty of choice and always piping hot, all was very well organised. The animation team Mido, Kimo, Alex, Daly, Bo Bo, Chicko, Dean and all the others were just brilliant, always there to entertain you day and night.
The hotel bar and reception staff were always very polite and very friendly, nothing was ever too much trouble.
All in all it was the best holiday that i have ever had and i cant wait to go back very soon.
