This was the first time I have visited Tunisia and stayed with the Iberostar Hotel chain. I have read through many reviews before booking that Hotel in particular. It’s all depends on your personal preference and also your age Group ( I am 25). I will make this simple and use Bullet Points:
The reception is friendly and straight forward. It really depends who is in charge of the Reception. Some receptionists are friendly and happy to help you. However, some receptions are moody and even argue with you which I did not appreciate at all on my holiday. I have asked the receptions many times to fix the AC as it was blowing out Hot air on a day when it is 24 Degrees outside and couldn’t even off it. One receptionist said that is blowing air as its winter (that made me laugh). The next day, I approached another receptionist who said that she will take care of it (Never happened). The finally fixed the AC after 3 days, however, it was cold outside and the AC would now only blow cold air only ( That made me laugh again). Therefore, reception is 2* Standard.
The bar people are friendly individuals who are happy to help you at any time. The waiters even come outside the Bar to see if anyone wants a coffee or a drink. In addition, the bar also offers nice sandwiches and Peanuts for people who get hungry at night. You can get wine, beer and local spirits for free. Anything branded will be extra. Therefore, 4* indeed.
The food is amazing. They have a great selection of food and drinks available. It might get bit repetitive with some dishes but the food just taste good. The waiters are there to clean the table constantly and offer you any drinks you want. Therefore, 4* indeed.
The Room I stayed in was really clean and spacious. The TV would show few channels from around the world. The mini Bar was empty (Not sure why), the Toilets get cleaned everyday too. However, I did come across a cockroach which was not very nice to see. I did report that to the receptions, but it seemed that they did not care. The beds were very comfortable and the Room looked very modern too. Therefore, 3* Standard.
The Animation Team:
The Hotel offers various activities (Stretching, Table Tennis, Arching, Salsa Dance etc). The Team works really hard to keep the mood up, especially when it rains outside. The Team give people nick names and even make fun of them, but nothing personal. They are very friendly and actually care. Therefore, 4* indeed.
Overall, I enjoyed my stay at the Hotel. I would recommend people to stay at this Hotel even though not everything is 4* standard.
I did not like the Country as everyone just wants to sell you something, force you to come to their shop and convince you, that their branded goods are not fake ( Yh right…). The place around the Hotel looks very run down, dirty and trash can be found everywhere. The beach is dirty, you will find Camel faeces everywhere and people running after you to sell something. I will not be visiting Tunisa again.
