Location – hotel is at end of Yasmine Hammamet which is end of tourist strip and connected to other areas by taxis & buses. About 8D to old Hammamet via taxi. 1.5D on bus to Nableu.
Hotel – hotel is reasonable clean inside and well looked after, although feels a bit dated in some areas. Reception has wifi but its not a warm place to sit. Hotel shop owner is helpful& friendly. Reception staff need to cheer up a bit more. Recommend people to take their own suitcase to you rooms, we waited over an hour and still no case so collected it ourselves (saved us a tip!). All indoor areas are non-smoking.
Rooms – basic clean rooms with no frills. Note the baths maybe too high to step over for disabled people. I would recommend the hotel to use pillow protectors and full mattress protector to improve hygiene and reduce risk of bed bugs.
Food – food is okay nothing special, although the Tunisian night was better. Not much variety each day especially at lunch, wild boar seems to appear on menu daily. The AI snacks between meals were difficult to find, but usually consisted of just salad and fruit only, and when its gone its gone. So if you miss a meal you will need to eat out. Waiters and restaurant staff are friendly and helpful. Only 1 bar/café was open during the day but service was ok.
Activities – activities were limited during our stay in February. I have to admit the entertainment team headed by Tarak make a lot of effort to look after everyone. There are more activities for younger kids, kids older than 11+ will struggle.(some footballs & pool inflatables would have helped) Indoor pool is reasonable and nice and warm. Guests are allowed to use the steam room once per week but if you will be lucky to get an appointment past the not so friendly/grumpy spa manager! Beach is dirty with seaweed, litter and camel poo. There is a large outdoor pool but no slides for kids. Gym is very basic (no treadmill) and charged at 5D per visit.
Entertainment –at night there is a kids disco followed by usual med style entertainment.
Overall an average type of med of hotel with plenty of staff that make an effort to make the stay pleasant, but a few improvements could make the hotel even better. I don’t recommend this hotel if you after use of sports and spa facilities. On the past few days I notice the holiday has cleaned up its part of the beach, but rest of the beach is a mess.
Not sure why the CCTV cameras on 4th level are not wired up, and if they were would not be much use as one points to the ceiling & another to a wall!
Watch out for the scammers roaming about streets with the same chat up line “hi I am waiter at your hotel today is my day off..today is government special sales discounts until 1200 follow me blah blah blah..” Remember to finish your dinars before you leave for the airport!
