Good hotel, excellent value in March when the hotel is about half full if you get lucky with the weather which we did - 7 days of sunshine. Very clean, beautiful pool mostly filled with Italian/Germans and the rooms were good and kept clean with excellent showers.
Location is a bit out of town down the far north end of the beach so its a good 20 minute walk to the centre but when you're on holiday no biggy and the taxi only costs £2-3 if you're feeling lazy. There's not a lot to see in Hammamet itself so if you're looking for culture there's the possibility of a day trip to Tunis/Carthage or to El Jem.
There's a very enthusiastic activities team that put on darts, archery, dance, etc and there's good tennis courts and crazy golf available. (bring your own racquets if you are serious, hotel do provide but one of ours had a broken string!) If watersports is what you're into the hotel does have pedallo's and a small hobbie catamaran which were out of action when we went. There is a man down the beach who will arrange water skiing, jet skiing and parasailing. There was a scuba shop in the hotel but their boat was broken when we went. Suggest you email ahead and ask if these things will be available for your dates before you book if they're essential for you.
The reception desk service was always polite but not always well informed! We asked two questions and both were unreliable. 1) There are regular trains (£5 return) to Tunis if you don't want to spend (£40 each way) on a hotel transfer and want to do your own thing (they deny this!) and 2) Our airport tax was included in our tickets (they said we'd need to get some more money out before we went).
Hotel food was excellent and main meals all had a buffet available which is recommended. We much preferred having the option of going in to town for our evening meals as there are some excellent value restaurants with a lot more atmosphere.
