“Well worth the visit!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 18, 2012

Me and my partener visited Parc Djerba Explore as we really like Crocodiles. We went to Crocodile farm in Cuba where the crocs at their biggest are about 6 foot. These ones here are Nile Cros and some were up to 10 foot long. Feeding time is at 5pm, amazing to watch these creatures especially when eating. You can hear them crunching through the bones of the meat, proving what they are really made of!

“Can anyone really moan at 3 attractions for less than £5?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2012

Museum is fairly interesting but nothing in English, lovely and cool before walking around the rest. There is a decent selection of typically Tunisian houses and a working camel-driven well, oil mill and store and carpet weaving. The main attraction is the crocodile farm, make sure you go on a feeding day at the right time, it really is worth it. If you're really lucky you might get asked to help throw the food to the crocs! After feeding don't rush off, you really need to watch as one of the keepers jumps into the enclosure and, armed with only a shovel, collects the fallen teeth! They can't sell these but a donation (5-20 TD) will find you a croc tooth as a souvenir.

“Crocodile farm-well worth a visit”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

Djerba explore consists of 3 separate Attractions, a museum, some gardens and the crocodile farm and is very reasonably priced at 12 Dinars (£4) per adult and 6 dinars( £2) per child. It was only a 3 dinar taxi ride from our hotel as well. The Museum was an excuse to get out of the scorching heat for a bit and was a fairly small exhibition of old ceramics, carpets, paintings and books etc from the Ottoman empire and some exhibits even older. All of exhibits are labelled in French only but still worth a look, and even my 3 year old enjoyed a little look at the old artifacts. The crocodile farm was really good and although again only quite small it was well worth a visit. There was an elevated bridge walkway which went around the park and there was plenty of shady spots and seating. There were 400 large adult crocodiles in the main area although some were beneath the water and it was very enjoyable to watch them swimming, opening their mouths to cool down and basking in the sun. There was also an area with baby crocodiles in which my daughter loved and we stood watching them "play", swim and eat for quite a while. There was one particular guide named Mohammed who spoke good English and he told us lots of very interesting facts about crocodiles and was happy to answer our questions. He appeared very knowledgeable on the subject and he even showed us some crocodile eggs via a light box so we could see the different embryos at different stages and he went and got a baby crocodile so we could stroke it!!

“A must-see in Djerba”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2012

Djerba Explore is a huge and unique project in the region. It consists in a mini-zoo gathering around 300 crocodiles brought and made grown. Although climate in the region is rather Mediterranean, all conditions are provided to take care of this huge collection. You can see different sizes of Nile Crocodiles (from the egg, the tiny Crocodiles to the heavy tall adults). The park is in the touristic zone and can be visited allover the day. Best time to visit is when food is served, in summer generally around 4 pm or 5 pm (please check ) but best time to go is before 4 pm. Food is normally served daily in summer but every second day in winter. Full chickens are thrown to them and you will be amazed how do the crocodiles fight to get their parts. Do not miss by the way to visit the museum just next the park which showns Djerba traditions and architecture, it is very interesting also. In summer nights, the main yard of the park turns into a café where you can enjoy a cold drink, and take parts in some musical show. Behind the park, the wonderful sandy beach of Sidi Yati is the best around the Island, not far from there you can also enjoy a horse, camel ride, or also do some quad and admire the famous sunset, one of the most beautiful sightseeing in the island.
