“Loved Laguna Holiday Club Phuket”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2013

We almost needed a map of the room we were allocated at this resort - it was that big. Very clean and comfortable and beautifully furnished. Staff were helpful. Located in a quiet part of Phuket and backing onto a golf course, the location of this little gem is not going to suit everyone. If you are looking to party hard then these digs are probably not for you.
The decorative pool and water slide were a step out of the open restaurant area. I don't understand though why it is closed to guests so early of an evening.
It took us a while to learn to properly use the free shuttle they provide but once we did we had some enjoyable dinners down by the beach and a few neighbouring restaurants.
We paid about 700THB ($US24) for a taxi for half a day to travel to Patong.
Would be a contender for the best accommodation we have ever had.

Laguna Holiday Club is one of the resorts in Laguna Phuket. Our 2 bedroom suite was located nearer to The Best Western Allamanda, thus we have to take the free shuttle to Holiday Club for breakfast every morning. As the non-aircon shuttle buses do not operate on a schedule, expect to wait up to 10mins. Taxi was the only mean of transport to and fro the resort. Getting a taxi from outside Laguna Phuket is usually 100bht cheaper than calling for one via the resort's front desk. But to get out, you have to take the free shuttle to Laguna Waters (the shuttle point nearest to the entrance / exit of Laguna Phuket) and walk for about 5mins. Our trip to Laguna Phuket from the airport was 550bht (after bargaining with a non-metered taxi driver) and trips to and fro Phuket Town / Patong was 600bht after bargaining.

The common areas and the main bedroom of our 2 bedroom suite looked well-maintained and clean. But the other bedroom with 2 single beds, though clean, looked very different from the main bedroom with very dated interior design and fittings.

Breakfast was kinda disappointing with only a slight change (pork sausages to chicken sausages and fried rice to fried noodles) in 1 or 2 food items in the 4 mornings we ate in. Quality of food and service was acceptable though.

Depending the purpose of your visit, I would only recommend staying here if you're looking for relaxation and getaway. Shoppers should seek accommodation in Patong - the main shopping area.

We are members of the Holiday Club in Australia who booked us into Apartment 2120 at The Allamanda Resort administered by the Laguna Holiday Club.
The bathroom of Apt 2120 at Allamanda is a disgrace to The Holiday Club and an insult to their members.
The cleaners did their very best but this bathroom should be ripped out and replaced immediately. When we complained to The Holiday Club they did not seem particularly surprised and we were moved to Apt 2114 which was considerably better but not perfect. Apart from the bathroom the rest of the suite was quite spacious and clean. The furnishings are not up to date but are in reasonable condition and comfortable.
It is my understanding that suites at The Holiday Club itself are in very much better condition that the Allamanda. Other resorts in the Laguna area are more upmarket, i.e. Outrigger, Banyan Tree and Angsana.
As it was 'low season' during our visit, all resorts at Laguna were very quiet and whilst we enjoyed the privacy it was a little disconcerting to be the only customers in restaurants that could seat 100!
All staff are terrific, the pools are clean and the grounds well maintained. The shuttle bus and ferry were good too.
You do have to venture further afield to get a sense that you are so far from home so we hired a driver (for not a lot of money) for a day trip to get a better 'feel' of the island.

Room Tip: Do not allow the Laguna Holiday Club to book you into their Apt. 2120 at Allamanda!!

A beautiful spot away from any large city. Free transport around the resort and a ferry to a beautiful private beach. The beach was magnificent. Shops and restaurants close by and a friendly taxi driver who charged below hotel prices to take us to the attractions outside of the resort. Good memories. No flat screen tvs old crt useless for modern multimedia.

We stayed in the 2 bedroom suite so it was very spacious and incredibly good value for the money. The view was of the golf course so it was very quiet. Breakfast was really good with lots of choice. The free shuttle around the Laguna resort made visiting our friends at the other hotels with the the Laguan Resort very convenient but there is a charge to use the other hotel's pool even though they are part of the same resort. Our own pool was a little smaller than we expected but it did have a slide which was fun. You could walk to the beach but the bus would save you arriving soaked! We thought the main downside was that resort was far from Patong, the port and the south of the island where the nicer beaches are. If you plan to stay in the resort then this would be a good choice. However if you intend to explore further afield be warned that the resort taxis are slightly more expensive than what you would pay outside but the cars are definitely more comfortable.

I've never felt more at home at any other resorts than this one. Who wouldn't? This place is very much like a 2 room apartment with a fully equipped kitchen where I can whip up any meals for my family. The unit is really spacious so kids have plenty of space to run around so you don't hear any complaints of boredom from being confined to a small hotel room. There are 3 TV's so noboby has to fight over any channel and also a DVD player. If that is not enough to keep the kids entertained there's also a kid's club on the ground floor even though my kids found it very basic compared to what they had in Angsana, but, suffice to say. Since it feels very much like home, we didn't feel like missing anything so much when we went out for our day trips. Location wise it is quite far from Phuket's main attraction, especially Patong, so I would recommend renting a car and a GPS if you plan to stay here

The Hotel is nice but they don't have there own beach. However, it's in the "Laguna Resort Area". So you don't have to think much about going out to other places but enjoy the facilities of the other hotel members. Anyways, there own facilities are also not bad. The swimming pool is not big but you can enjoy the spiral slider with you kids.

Remember, don't compare with other five star resort. It's reasonable for what you spend.

Room Tip: All the rooms face the forest side but higher floor is better
