I've been a member of the Thanyapura Club for a couple of years, and in that time have seen the service go from brilliant to average. The food itself swings widely in taste and quality as well. The do brick oven pizza's well, but the Thai food bizarrely is lacking. Prices are high, and it is a long way from anywhere.
Highlights are the bakery and coffee service. Both are excellent.
One notable point, is the hotel now seems to sell out to Mainland Chinese tour groups, and they infiltrate the restaurant at times as a group of 50-100. This takes all the tables up, and you will end up sharing yours.
I simply no longer go.
