Our son and his partner had researched the internet looking for wedding packages and had chosen the Laguna Beach Resort. Having previously stayed in Bangkok we knew the hotels would be comfortable and well maintained in Thailand so we had no less expectation for here. We had personal reservations about staying in a resort as we like to get about and see the place but were not disappointed at all. In fact we have recommended this resort to all our family and friends.

The resort is lovely although very large and there's plenty to do. Its location is beside a lagoon and this extends around the Dusit Laguna Resort, a shopping mall and the Sheraton Laguna Resort. Oh yes and an Elephant Park. You can get off at any of these places and have a look around. The ferries run every 5 -10 minutes.

We were met at reception with a welcome drink and refresher towel and as always in Thailand the staff were very polite and helpful. We were escorted to our room which looked out onto the lagoon and it was everything we expected. Roomy, clean and comfortable although the bed was very hard. The pool at the resort was popular with adults and children and there were 4 restaurants on site to choose from. The hustle and bustle of Patong Beach was nowhere to be seen here. The beach was the other side of the pool and it stretched up past the other Laguna Hotels. Many restaurants along the beachfront with fresh seafood and cool breezes. No complaints about the food or service at the Resort Restaurants. Plenty of tours such as Elephant Treks to do and our 5 days flew past. The most fascinating part of the resort is the Elephants. They have 2 resident Elephants (one still a baby) which wander around the resort complex all day. You can find them anywhere. They were wandering through reception on our arrival. At breakfast they greet all of the guests and children can feed them every day. We saw them by the pool and on the beach having a roll in the sand. For safety they have their keepers with them at all times. The larger of the two Elephants called Anna was part of our son's wedding ceremony and posed constantly for photos. She was amazing.

The Wedding Package was everything we hoped for. So personal and intimate. The staff could not do enough for our son and his new wife. Their upgraded room looked out over the beach and they were greeted with a welcome platter of fruit and flowers. There were orchids everywhere. It was a truly memorable time for us all.

This is a resort for anyone and would recommend it above any we saw at Patong.

after a very disappointing 5 star hotel experience in malaysia, laguna beach resort exceeded our expectations. kids club, room service, housekeeping; were all great , only the lunch buffet wasnt all that good..overpriced and not alot of variety, room service breakfast excellent. we were upgraded to larger room which was well appreciated. kids loved water slides and other activities on the lagoon, being able to sample the many other restaurants and bars in the laguna complex was a plus.

Stayed at the hotel for a work conference and found everything to be ideal for a short 3 day visit .. the pool is fantastic for kids (mainly due to the huge waterslide) so would have no hesitation bringing my family back here for a longer holiday. The location is far enough away from Patong Beach so that crowds and smell are not an issue.

No need to eat at the more expensive hotel restaurants as the food was average at best (breakfast being the exception) and the restaurants on the beach are far more enjoyable and cheaper.

Rooms were nice and comfortable so no complaints there either ..

Short 15min walk along the beach (north) to the neighbouring Sheraton Grande resort gets you one of the best massages available (US$10 for 1 hour).

The resort was beautiful, but the restaurants were dull, uninspired and expensive. Much better to walk down the beach and go to one of the beachside restaurants and eat better food for less. We went to Tom Yam Goong among others. The bars are also good. A beer and a coke cost $2.50, whereas in the resort that wouldn't even get you a coke! We liked the LuLu bar run by an old guy. He's really friendly, plays Bob Marley, it's like being in the Caribbean. Sit down there at the beachside bar with a cold Singha beer and watch the sun go down.
