“Very private and clean - rental car is a must”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2014

Stayed here 3 nights. The private pool was small but clean and the spacious bathroom was perfect. It is a self service resort, so don't expect a high service level from resort staff. However, for a price of 3000 baht/day it's great value.

Perfect for couples - if you have rented your own car. You can rent a Toyota Hilux pickup for 1300-1500 Baht per day with no excess at all if you make a direct booking with SIXT inside Phuket Airport.

10 minutes drive to Tesco and 10-15 minutes to beautiful and calm beaches in the northern part of Phuket. I don't remember the names of the beaches, but they are way better than Kamala, Patong and the other beaches in south. Everything is more quite and less touristy in the northern part.

If you want the bustle of Patong shopping and entertainment it is only 25-30 minutes drive from the hotel. Take the coastal road during day time and enjoy the views while you can take the highway during night time.

Seastone Villas are very comfortable units located in Thalang, away from the hustle and bustle of Patong which is Phuket's major city and commercial area. There are one and two bedroom units, all equipped with a short lapping pool perfect for families or groups of friends on holiday. You will need to have a car to stay here as this is not walking distance to nay beach or commercial area. It is quite a drive from restaurants and shopping centers but will offer you a cozy vacation home close enough for comfort but away from the populated areas. A great place to stay if you want some peace and quiet..

I stayed here for one reason, the pictures on web looks nice and it has a pool and 2 rooms which my friend could bunk in on my recent holiday in Phuket. It's another one of those property investment sort of real estate business this place is. People buy and make it their holiday homes, renting out the units while they are not here, hoping to make a profit selling in the future. The bedrooms are large and spacious, the toilet very roomy. You can run circles in your bedroom and toilet as there are 2 connecting access. From your bedroom, you could jump straight into the lap pool located between your villa and the adjacent one. There is a lack of amenities in the establishment, units are built smack one after the other. For some strange reasons, the car porch is meant only for very small cars, so the front of our Nissan Teana jutted out into the road and yes, we were unable to close the gate. The road is narrow too much and if the opposite neighbor parks his car parallel front of his unit, reverse parking into yours would mean calls to the insurance company. In the near vicinity, there will be nothing around and a drive to fun fun places such as Patong is going to cost you some 45 minutes. No taxis ventures in here, you really got to rent a car as we did. Breakfast is cooked in their main kitchen and served in our units and the quality is very mediocre. They tried their best to offer privacy and uniqueness but is a far cry of attaining those statuses. Most unforgettable while I stayed here was the pillow. Someone must have salivated gallons of secretions beforehand. Comparing to what resorts of the same price levels could offer on Phuket which I had been, I would suggest staying here only if for some reasons, you really need to.

We were blown away by the villa. It was spacious, almost too big for us both which was great because it felt like a real home, even though it was just a weekend getaway.

BEDROOM
Of course, the most important part of any hotel/villa is the bedroom. And for this, I must give us both pats on the back because we’ve outdone ourselves this time. The bed was the princess of all princess beds in all the world!

(oh, if you don’t know it yet: I’m a complete freak about princess beds. This must be our third while travelling).

It was so beautiful and romantic; and of course very comfortable! :)

BATHROOM
Hotel bathrooms to be are of utmost importance (on par with the bedroom), and there are times that I judge a hotel just by their bathrooms. So yes I’m a bit extreme, but I just think it’s just important to have a nice, spacious bathrooms. And this one exceeded my wildest expectations.

It was really spacious. That’s one thing. It had both a tub, and a shower. But get this – the shower is set in a pseudo-outdoor environment. Which I really, really like.

KITCHEN
It is most impressive that our villa had a working kitchen, with enough utensils and cutlery and anything that comes included in a normal kitchen. For families/couples staying here for a longer time, you can actually get groceries and cook up a storm yourself!

PRIVATE POOL
What attracted us the most while choosing our accommodation for this trip was the private pool. It was nothing special I’m sure by any standards, but it was our very first private pool stay and that makes it special enough already.

BREAKFAST & ROOM SERVICE
Speaking of food, let’s get down to the two breakfasts delivered to our villa for the two mornings we were there.

We were given a form to fill up right after we check in for the first breakfast, and another form the next morning, with a choice of American or Thai breakfast. So on both days, we got one Thai breakfast, and one American breakfast. On the first morning, we chose fried rice with crab for the Thai breakfast, along with the American breakfast. As good as it looks, I’m sad to say that it was overall very disappointing especially for the fried rice. It was dry and was bland.

On our final day there, we were lazy to go out for lunch so we decided to order room service, in hopes that it will be better than what they serve at breakfast. And what do you know, we finally had decent food served to us!

We ordered tom yam soup, pad thai, fried rice and an omelette. And it was so delicious. Seriously, it was as if they were cooked from another kitchen. Then we thought – was it nicer because we had to pay extra? Who knows.

So my advice to you out there who wants to stay at this otherwise lovely villa would be 1) order room service (you need to order by 5 pm, and there is no menu in the villa, so you’d need to go to the reception) or 2) cook up a storm yourself - as advised earlier.

MOBILE PHONE
We were provided with this mobile phone (because the villa has no phone line) for us to call the reception office if we need anything. However, we never used it because we’ll just go outside and walk to the reception area. We did however, use this phone to communicate with a cab driver we hired for the trip.

SHUTTLE SERVICE
Everyday, there are shuttle buses going to a beach nearby, and to a nearby Tesco where you can stock up on groceries. It is a free service (within the allotted hours). We only used this service once. We discovered if you want to go anywhere else, you’re better off with a cab because the reception will charge you exorbitant prices. The downside is the location of the villa is slightly remote (hence peaceful) and it will be hard to get a cab.

Thankfully, the cab driver that we met at the airport was incredibly decent and trustworthy and so we called him whenever we needed to go anywhere.

ANIMAL FRIENDS
Because we had little else to do (it was a completely lazy and relaxing weekend), we just hung out around the villa grounds and discovered a lot of animal friends!

There were cute lizards by the pool, and also pretty kitty cats around! But they really hated to have their photos taken though. Cats really have an attitude problem.

CONCLUSION
It was the perfect stay, and we were sorry to leave when the time came. It was raining for most of the weekend, but it was okay because we were “home” for the weekend. The villa was too big for us both, which makes it perfect. The more space, the better. That being said, it was the perfect idyllic weekend getaway, playing house, and enjoying each others' company. It really felt like home, and we wished we were staying there longer.

What makes Seastone special is that it’s privately owned and some (or all if I’m not wrong) of the villas are on sale. Which explains the property brochures in the living room, and the lack of a room service menu. It’s not a hotel in the first place, so we shan’t rant too much. I just need to repeat however, that the complimentary breakfast ought to be better.

We’ll definitely be back here for another romantic weekend getaway :)

Room Tip: Request for villas closer to the reception area, wifi signals are better!

The villa was amazing, love the pool and the spacious bathroom. We were there for 3D2Ns, but sadly the weather wasn't on our side.

Getting there: We took a cab from the airport, If you come out of Phuket Airport and head all the way right you'll arrive at the taxi stand which is cheaper than the touts near the exit of the baggage claim. My driver had no problem as he knew the location of the villa.

Surrounding: The villa is located in a very secluded area, there are mini marts and street hawkers (20 minutes walk), but the roads are dark and would be dangerous at night. The villa itself is very nice and big. A small kitchen area for your to cook meals is available. (Microwave, stove, toaster etc). The best feature would be the swimming pool! The garden is home to many lizards! They do not disturb, but if you are not keen on reptiles it is something to watch out for.

Transportation: We took the drivers name card and used him to get to other locations, the price for transport at the villa is very steep, half of the normal rate. Alternatively, The villa provides free shuttle to either Layan Beach or a nearby Tesco (Supermarket with a handful of fast food restaurants) , you can take the shuttle to either locations and hire a taxi from there. Do remember to get the address of the villa.

Food: There was not much of a choice for breakfast (Western: Selection of eggs with bacon, sausages and ham with toast or Thai: Fried rice / porridge) and it was not really great. (Too salty) So don't expect much. The food for the room service is slightly better, you can get the menu from the reception.

Phone: I like that they provided a handphone, we used this to contact our driver and the reception. good for emergencies. (It is actually for room service etc)

Shower: The bathroom is huge. It includes a bath tub and rain shower, however the pressure of the water is low.

Entertainment: If you get rained in like us, the reception has a collection of DVDs you can rent. Although the movies aren't that new. WiFi was a little weak, but it gets stronger with villas closer to the reception centre. We stayed at Villa C

Overall we had a lovely time staying at Seastone pool villas, the staff were friendly and could speak simple english, No problems checking in or out. Transport wouldn't be much of a pain if you're able to rent a car/motorcycle. If you're booking, I'd advice against paying extra for the breakfast and take the shuttle over to Tesco to get food to cook.

We stayed there for 7 nights during our honeymoon. The place is nice, quiet and relaxing. the staff is nice and friendly, they provide you with a mobile phone to for the time of stay. the villa is spacious and has a kitchen with almost all the basic utensils. The private pool is really nice with a moderate death. They have 2 LDC TVs, one in the hall area and the other in the bedroom with DVD players. Most od the TV channels are Thai but you can always choose from a selection of DVDs in the reception. Breakfast is provided everyday based on your choice from a checklist that you hand to the staff the day before.
The villas on the other hand are 20 mins away from the city centre, you need to organise your own transportation as the shuttle bus has fixed times and only takes you to the super markets nearby. A motorbike rental at a reasonable price would be a perfect option i would say. One more thing...there are a lot of lizards outside the villa and in the garden area, that do not usually go inside.

Overall the place is very nice for a couple but make sure you have your transportation issue fixed.

nice villa concept with a built in pool. good cooking facilities. However location is a 10mins ride from the nearest small town. This place would be suitable for people who like quiet environment as its far away from the busy areas. The famous Patong area is a 30mins bike ride. I wouldnt mind staying here again providing I have a car or bike at least as this place has no walking distance for you to do anything except see some rubber plantation.
