“Lively area but not too crazy busy - just right”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

The Rawai area offers a lot. Boat trips, bars, the gypsy village for fresh fish restaurants. People go kayaking and kite surfing from the beach.

“Rawai beach is great”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Great sand, not too busy and plenty of places to eat under the trees. There is also very little built up around the beach while makes it feel special.

“Love the Rawai Beach Area”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 13, 2013

Did you know that Rawai Beach use to be Phuket’s most popular beach for Thai families before the new road over Patong Hill was built. Nowadays it is classed as a working beach for the speed boats and long tails but you can still see many Thai families come here for picnics and swimming.

There are so many great little restaurants in this area, it is a lot quieter than the rest of Phukets beach areas & a great place for families.

The Chocolate Bar & Restaurant is also along the beachfront at Rawai Beach. This area has been a favorite of ours for many years now and has many good little restaurants and bars. It is so nice and relaxing just sitting here watching the long tail boats and Thai families playing or swimming.

There is a good menu with many choices and the prices are so cheap, like a Singha for 60baht, a delicious stuffed Thai omelet 100baht and banana splits for 100baht. The staff are lovely as well. So if you’re in the area we definitely recommend calling into the Chocolate Bar & Restaurant, they are open for breakfast, lunch & dinner.
