“Serenity....”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 23, 2013

Had an amazing time at this hotel, stayed for 27 nights in Jan / Feb 2013, the suites are very relaxing and home from home, view was excellent from our suite, the staff are very friendly and are willing to go the extra mile if needed, the restaurant and bar are very reasonable priced for this standard of hotel. We went to the town once and was pleased to get back ....it is a little out of the way...but that is what we wanted, a 7-11 shop opposite and hire of bikes at very good prices... Just out of the hotel on the right is a great restaurant called Saigon, Vietnamese were the food is excellent and they make you feel very welcome.
We would recommend this hotel to friends and family for total relaxation and great service, the suites are very spacious and well equipped with what you need.

Room Tip: Suites 875 /876 have partial sea views ... In block A... Otherwise get a sea view... Well worth it.

I've stayed at the Serenity Resort twice so far (last time in July 2012) and I keep thinking I want to go back! The grounds of the hotel are perfectly maintained and inviting to calmness and relaxation. The rooms are very comfortable, spacious and beautifully decorated. Last time I stayed in one of their suites and the ocean view (even from the bedroom) was stunning. Staff members at the hotel are always caring, welcoming and always make sure you have the best experience at the hotel. The pool area is also inviting to relaxation with its beautiful view and comfortable chairs. Oh, the food is also delicious, as good as some of the best restaurants in Bangkok. The only drawback is that the hotel is a bit far from the main party areas (Patong), but the distance is definitely worth it and the hotel has daily evening free shuttle service to Patong. Overall, a stay at Serenity makes for the perfect vacation!

Unlike all the other fantastic reviews, we were not as happy at Serenity.

Location - It's on a main road in Rawai, although on the beach, you cannot swim in this beach. A scooter is a must as there is nothing around!

Rooms - The room was clean, however very dark and not comfortable at all... We were located near the stairs/lift and were woken up by kids screaming and running around the corridors every morning. The walls a paper thin you can hear every little noise!

Service - Was fine, nothing great. Staff need a little more training I think..

I don't know, this wasn't a great experience for us, we only stayed 5 nights, which was plenty, but wish we spent this time at another resort..

My girlfriend and I stayed in this hotel for 2 weeks.

All good things I've read on the internet about this hotel are true:
- nice big rooms
- friendly staff
- very clean hotel
- good food
- ...

The only negative point about our stay in the Serenity Resort is the price of the taxi service outside the hotel, but this has nothing todo with the hotel itself.

I recommend all people to rent a motorbike to be able to visit the whole island of Phuket (about 300 Bath/day).

Thanks for the excellent service !!!

Room Tip: We booked for the Serenity suite, but got a free upgrade to a Grand Seaview Suite wich is just perfe...

Dear William,
Thank you very much for your nice review, which is much appreciated.
As you point out correctly, we are not able to influence the taxi fares of the local taxi stand outside of the hotel.
We do, however, offer a free bus to Nai Harn beach and another free shuttle to Patong beach once per day to help guests save on taxi expenses.
Sincerely, Urs - General Manager

We booked Serenity Resort after reading the recommendations of other Trip Advisors (thanks all!) and were expecting nothing short of excellence - and that is exactly what we got! It was one of the most excellent and perfect hotel stays I have ever had.

Upon arrival we were given a cool welcome drink while being registered. We were also upgraded from a one-bed to a two-bedroomed suite with a sea view - it seems that the hotel tries to give its guests the best experience possible and (from reading other posts here) frequently upgrades people.

When we entered our suite (number 825) we were immediately hit with one of Serenity's "WOW" factors - the suite is huge and luxuriously outfitted (see the pictures on their website - what you see there is exactly what you get :-) ). The large balcony has a table and four chairs if one wants to dine out there, and two loungers for sunbathing or just relaxing. From our balcony, we had a view over the swimming pool, East 88 restaurant and the sea. While we were there (10th to 14th February), a lovely cool breeze was blowing off the sea both day and night - this made sitting on our balcony even more enjoyable.

The room has a well stocked kitchen (you could even cook a meal if so inclined) including champagne glasses, read and white wine glasses, and other assorted drinks glasses - and the large fridge has an assortment of wines too! There is a large dining table with six chairs, and a separate sitting area with a large flat screen TV (complete with DVD player to play the DVD you can borrow from reception).

There were two large double bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. We used the slightly larger one that opens directly onto the sitting room. The bed is very comfortable (neither too soft nor too hard) and four pillows are provided - however, there is also a pillow menu so everyone will be able to have the most appropriate pillow for their circumstances - we used those already there as these suited us. There were two sets of wardrobes with plenty of hangers (I hate when hotels only provide 4 or 5!), and within these were a safe and two sets of dressing gowns and slippers (we saw many people using these to go down to the hotel's spa).

The bathroom was big with a separate toilet - there was a large bath / jacuzzi and a separate shower that had both an overhead rain-shower and a wall mounted angled shower. Importantly for me, the water pressure was very strong. When you arrive in your room, you are presented with a choice of soaps, shower gels and shampoos - do choose the lemon-grass which smells wonderful, even to a guy!

The second bedroom and en suite bathroom were similarly outfitted.

Overall, the room ( .. er .. the suite!) gets top marks! The only drawback about such a luxurious room is the strong temptation not to go out - some afternoons we came back to the hotel just to enjoy the room and balcony! So I strongly recommend you book a suite rather than the basic room.

The hotel restaurant, East 88, and the bar, are on opposite sides of the swimming pool, and both are against the seawall - at full tide the sea is up against this wall and at low tide recedes quite a distance. This tidal area provides a very safe area for boating or kite-surfing (popular in the area) as the water is only about waist deep even at full tide. The downside is that the water is far out at low tide.

Breakfast is served in the East 88 restaurant and there is a wide choice of both western and Asian foods. There is an egg station from where you can have eggs cooked any style; a waffle station; and a hot buffet of bacon, ham, sausages, hash browns, etc - usually there are also rice and noodles, with two choices of accompanying local dishes. There are also 'cold cuts' of meats, smoked salmon (this was delicious!), and sushi, as well as fresh fruits and a variety of breads. So, top marks for breakfast too!

We don't usually use hotel spas in Thailand as there are lots of massage shops everywhere. However, when we checked in, we were given a voucher for a 15 minute "head, shoulder and neck" massage in the hotel spa. This was so good we immediately booked a package. As other posters have noted, this makes the spa very popular, so I recommend that you have the free massage as soon as possible and then make reservations.

This hotel is definitely a "resort" in that you don't need to go out for anything - as well as the delightful rooms, the staff are so friendly and helpful, and many of them flash that big Thai smile when you meet them - especially Jaem in East 88 restaurant (she simply radiates happiness!).

Serenity is one of those hotels that is in itself a reason to visit a place! We will certainly be back.

Room Tip: Get a suite with a seaview!

Great resort with superb hospitality and views. We checked in and got complimentary upgrade to a pool & sea facing suite. Pool side restaurant (East88) and bar were amazing with good quality food and drinks. Room rates according to the quality are good. Free shuttle transfer to Patong was helpful. My sincere thanks to all the employees and management of the resort. We will return back to you for sure in the future.

Room Tip: Grand sea view suite will be good if you want it to be extra spacious.

Very Nice hotel, charming and calm. My boyfriend and I went there for 12 nights. As it was the low season in august and the enxt room was under construction, we asked for having a better room. We finally got a very nice suite for the same price, with a seaview. The staff is very nice, you can ask anything you would like to. Very good memory. The only bad point to improve is the staff English language. It was not always easy to make understand ourselves. But all the rest was perfect: the restaurant, the spa, the localisation (away from Phuket mess!!, more romantic).
