“Amazing place!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

We stayed at this wonderful resort for a week. a unique place that you must visit on your next trip to thailand. the athmosphere is very good the staff is very helpful and kind and making the vacation simple and fun. we enjoyed each moment there the hotel is clean and well maintained great pool with nice sitting area. lots to do in the area everything is max 20 minutes drive if you want to explore the island. after a bad experience at Phuket staying at Patong beach that time was refreshing and gave us a diffrent aspect on the island, the Spa in this place amazing, no words...not cheap comaring to Thailand prices but worth it for sure. We will defaintly be there again on our next trip to Thailand!

Room Tip: forget about Patong, if you want to have a great vacation and profit all of this Island has to offer...

Everything was just awesome, could not expect any more for a vacation like this. Room was really spacious, clean and quiet, big bathroom, nice view. My wife and I really relax while staying here and felt like do not want to leave this lovely place, thank you guys. Location was also not bad, near a convenient store, near taxi stand. All of hotel staffs were well trained and friendly. Spa service was outstanding, food was great. Highly recommend!

I love this place. They upgraded me to the suite. Seafront view. Wonderful breakfast every morning. Had the seafood BBQ dinner on the rooftop. Great staff and manager. The manager Pascal is extremely warm and friendly. Free wifi all day. I'd come back again for more. Keep it up team!

This place was suggested by a travel agent friend from France..my choice of family beach getaway would usually be villa especially in places like Phuket. Somehow not many villas in Phuket or resort has a direct beach scenery like Serenity.

We booked the 2 bedroom villa seaview facing located on the 3rd floor..it was a fantastic view day and night. The villa was very very spacious with facilities like a living room, dining table, kitchen, huge balcony and an upper rooftop sundeck and also huge baths. Breakfast was included with our room price. The resort has a huge pool and also a section of children's pool. The bar and all day dining is located at the swimming pool area. There were sun beds facing the beach at the deck but the beach is not recommended for swimming or any other sea sports activities as it was muddy. It was great to relax because of the sea facing n great view of the nearby islands. In order to go to a proper beach, there is a daily hotel shuttle to Naiharn beach located about 10mins from the resort. It was a beautiful beach for swimming with soft sand..

Other facilities provided by the resort were daily shuttle 2x a day to Patong and return, 1x a day to Naiharn beach and return were the ones we used. Reservations tonuse the shutle need to be made 1day ahead to avoid fully booked per journey as the van cud only fit it 10people at one time. Patong fr Serenity was approximately 20mins journey. Resort to airport was a 45mins journey. The concierge was also helpful to provide self catered daily excursions to the nearby islands, elephant rides trips, cabaret shows around Phuket or hiring private cars. Taxis are relatively expensive around Phuket. If one is adventurous, there are buses and 4x4s hailed by roadsides charges by the distance.

The resort also had a kids club opened from 9-5pm for children age 4-12yrs old. The best thing about evenings at Serenity was that we loved the happy hour time daily where we could get cocktails at 50% discount esp the mojitos. :-)

Somehow in Serenity, (or perhaps other parts of Thailand comparing Bali), be prepared to be treated less equal if you are Asian compared to if you are Caucasian :-P

Room Tip: Get the direct seafacing for the best view.

Dear Azlin, thank you very much for your review.
I read with great interest and some concern that you felt treated differently than our caucasian guests as you are from Asia, but you do not elaborate on that in your review so i am not sure what to read between the lines or respond. Please take a minute to contact me personally via our website (you will find my email address in the "team" section of the site).
Our team takes great pride to provide great and friendly service to our guests so i would like to hear more details from you what made you feel less welcome than our caucasian guests.
Looking forward to hearing from you, I remain, Sincerely, Urs - General Manager

The short answer is: Book it and enjoy!

Having stayed at one or two of the world's finest resorts in the Caribbean and North America, it's reasonable to say that Serenity is right up there. It's not to say that it is one of the world's top resorts. The world is too big and you can spend way more to stay at nicer, more exclusive, and more beautiful locations. However, for what we paid, it was astonishing the level of hospitality, luxury, and beauty we experienced and was in the international arena easily a 4 star resort. Maybe even 4.5, if one wishes to split hairs.

The food was wonderful and the breakfast buffet delightful. Staff were kind, attentive, and dignified throughout the resort and at every turn. Joy, who works in the dining area, was particularly kind and friendly. The rooms were spacious and plush with very comfortable bedding, and appropriately sparkly bathrooms.

We met interesting people from all around the world. Though we didn't avail ourselves of any outside activities (because we couldn't tear ourselves away from the resort), the concierge had lots of interesting activities to choose from. There were also lots of interesting guests from all around the world.

The grounds are really pleasant. The pool is agreeably located near the dining area and bar. The view from the pool or the rooftop of the dining room and bar is gorgeous.

The location is surprising in that when you pull up to the resort, it doesn't look at all like you are heading into a top notch resort. We never left the resort in the four days that we were there, so it didn't bother us at all, but I could imagine other people being less than enthralled with the location from outside of the resort. Other very nice places I've been to have been like this, so I think its one of those things.

Though the view from the beach is delightful, the beach itself suffers somewhat from a long sandbar that stretches out as much as 250 m and which means that you would want to wait for high tide to swim and low tide means you have a very wide "beach". It's not idea, but we found it added some visual interest and my wife really enjoyed wandering around on the exposed sand looking for sea creatures.

The short answer, book it and enjoy!

The location is about 45mins ride from the airport (at the very tip of Rawai beach). Getting a taxi limo from the airport to Serenity is cheaper than letting the resort arrange transport for you. The resort is quiet and quite relaxing frankly. Reception is rather small hence they can only handle 1 customer at a time (not that good when you are in a rush to check-out).

The room is fantastic! Very spacious yet cozy. They have a kitchenette which is good for quick cooking. A large L-shaped couch in the living area. 2 showers, 2 bathroom sinks, 1 bath tub and 1 toilet (with frosted glass door) in the open style bathroom. You can also dine by the private terrace. Our room connects to the rooftop overlooking the sea and comes with outdoor jacuzzi (sadly it was under repair when we were there). We hope to own a vacation place like this someday!

One can access the beach directly from the restaurant/pool (but it's a distance from our room/suite unless you ask for a room nearer the pool area). Food quality is quite good (because we ordered Thai?). Breakfast is normal, nothing fantastic. Spa is ok although we find it weird that they did our foot massage on the massage bed as well.

There is a convenience store across the road from this resort. A makeshift "taxi stand" is also available right outside the resort hence if you need transport you wouldn't need to go far. There are places "near" this resort which you can go for dinner but will require transport to reach hence it might be best to rent a car to go around else be prepared to negotiate taxi rates.

Room Tip: Ask for the highest floor so you get to have the rooftop (with jacuzzi and lounge chairs) all to you...

Serenity Resort & Spa is a resort with a difference. Before I planned the trip to Phuket, I spent sometime scanning through the comments and suggestions offered by other travelers in Trip Advisor and found it to be interesting. The resort's website offers some stunning pictures of the resort and has all the ingredients that can make it popular. To be honest, the perception from the website that we carried in our mind in terms of a dream resort did not really match when we finally landed up there. We were disappointed to notice the elevation and landscaping of the resort. But as we stayed for 4 nights, we could see why this resort is rated quite high in Trip Advisor. Every morning we used to be greeted by well spoken and ever smiling thai staffs at the breakfast table. The breakfast spread was very elaborate and sumptuous enough to make us skip lunch. The breakfast table overlooked the sea and with the white caned furnitures with turquoise cushions, the ambience felt serene. Lazying out in private beachside made us realize that why the name beholds such a significance.

We travelled as a couple with a 10 year kid and found the perfect place for a peaceful vacation. The resort has several options for suite and the one which we chose was a one bedroom suite turned out to be perfect for us. The size of the suite along with the decor and facilities were truly appreciable. It had all the amenities that one could ask for. My kid was overwhelmed to borrow her favorite movies from the in house library. The staffs were very courteous and all our requests were well taken care of. The SPA treatments that we undertook really felt out of the world.

I would recommend this resort to someone who is looking at relaxing indoors or beachside and not for people who would be looking at a massive property with gardens. Compared to the big and beautiful resorts in Thailand that we had earlier experienced, I would say this is much more smaller and niche for personal preferences. Most of the people who visits this resort are for long stays with an objective for relaxing.

Room Tip: Suites near the poolside overlooking the sea would be recommended

Thank you so much for your nice and detailed review and we are happy to hear that you and your family enjoyed your time with us.
As you mention correctly, Serenity Phuket is smaller, personal resort without the big and oversized facilities or gardens of an international chain hotel. We take pride in providing friendly and efficient services to our guests who appreciate a more intimate atmosphere.
Sincerely, Urs - General Manager
