Hotel staff were helpful in arranging for an alternative room away from the road/next to the restaurant for a better experience.

May be common practice in these parts but do not encourage the porter too much if you just want to rest on arrival as ours tried to sell us tour packages.

No hotel in Phuket seems to be linked directly to the beah, unlike in Bali, and so it is with the Coconut, which requires about an 8 min walk to the beach.

Was there during Songkran - do make sure you've confirmed your transfer to the airport on arrival to ensure availability on your departure date.

Hotel is within walking distance of the night market and about 15 mins by foot to the more bustling parts of Patong.

Pool water has some kind of additive that is very difficult to wash off - try a good conditioner or don't get your hair wet!

Staff not fluent in english, which may be stating the obvious but something to bear in mind.

Would stay at another hotel next time, but overall a nice decent place.

    • Liked — relative quietude with proximity to nightlife and the beach
    • Disliked — staff did not exude the usual Thai warmth, for some strange reason, and were politey but not greatly helpful.

We arrived at the hotel and were shown to the most horrendous room, full of cigarette smoke, cracks in windows, mosquitos everywhere and the doors and the windows were an open invitation to burglars. Not happy we called our guide and asked to move. Within 10 minutes we were in a deluxe room on the first floor, beautifully furnished with cable and mini bar and minus mosquitos.

Pool area is small but nice, you can get a thai massage as you are sitting by the pool which is great. Also only about 200 mtrs walk from Patong beach with a few good bars on the way.

Me and my partner stayed at this hotel for 20 days and we had a great time. The staff were lovely and they couldnt do enough for us. We made really good friends with most of them. One night we decided to hire a dvd player from a shop to test our vast dvd collection, we realised the tv in our room was not compatible with dvd players so we told the house keeping man (bare in mind it was around 1am) and he promptly swapped it with another one. The rooms are always cleaned
well and the pool is nice. The ladies giving massages are lovley however you can get cheaper ones in other places. We travelled around and saw everything we could, it was all easy to get to via cab or tuk tuk which can be hailed from outside the hotel. 2 mins walk to the beach and restaurants. Near to other beaches and towns. Great place, would recommend and stay here again.

We stayed at the Coconut Village for one week in January as part of a three week stay in Thailand. The hotel was lovely, the rooms were very clean and modern and looked recently refurbished. The hotel is approximately 5 mins walk from the beach which tends to be very busy, but only a short taxi or long tailed boat ride to more remote beaches. Just out of the way of all the night life so not to be bothered by it but within easy walking distance of lots of bars and restaurants. The pool area was quite small, but never seemed to be crowded, although we spent all our time on the beach. We went on the trip to James Bond Island - a very good day out, good value for money. The breakfast in the hotel was good with plenty to chose from. Staff were very polite and helpful at all times. Beach/pool towels changed daily.
