“Great hotel but wrong location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

Patong beach is not the best place to enjoy the beach in Phuket, but at least this hotel is great value, clean and spacious room (got a standard one), swimming pool very nice and relaxing. The staff is friendly. Just a negative point for the breakfast, could have more fruit choices or traditional Thai dishes.
Snacks are delicious though.

When you think of a 'resort' you think of a little bit of luxury & somewhere beautiful to stay, this is not one of those places. It is a very basic hotel with a nice (although small) pool area. I had booked a room with a balcony but upon arriving we were taken to a third floor room with NO balcony & only had a small window with no flyscreens. The airconditioner wasn't working & there was no ceiling fans. To say it was hot is an understatement!! The outdoor hall to the room also overlooked a vacant block which is full of rubbish. After having to request to be moved 3 times (with numerous excuses why I couldn't) they moved me to a ground floor room opposite the pool, lovely spot but the room was still awful, dirty & full of mosquitoes. The beds are very hard & the pillows very flat! Worst of all was the bathroom, it was disgusting!! Both the bath & the sink were dirty & stained, the mirror was dirty, the showerhead was gunky & the bath horrendous! There was also squashed mosquitoes all over the wall. Considering this is supposed to be a resort, there are no tea/coffee facilities in the room, no hairdryer & 98% of the satellite tv channels are dubbed over in Thai, with Thai subtitles! The in-room wi-fi has to be paid for, but don't bother, it is virtually impossible to connect to it. Would NEVER stay here again!

Room Tip: Choose somewhere else!

Just An average hotel , do not expect any luxuries from this hotel, it's at a distance from the Bangla road ( 15 min walk), beach is at 5 min walk. Breakfast spread was very limited. We had requested a pool view room , but were denied though the entire hotel was empty, stay here only if you are left with no option.

Coconut Village Resort was OK. The rooms were very clean but old and in need of a freshen up. The rooms were large and always cleaned beautifully. I found to the WIFI in the lobby pretty good in fact I would rate it better than my Vodafone internet at home. The mattress was very firm but I quite liked it. Breakfast was included with our room and was fairly standard. The staff that work at the hotel were lovely but spoke very little english which could make it quite difficult. The hotel was about an 8 minute walk to the beach, so the location not too bad. The pool and pool bar were quite nice. The one big downside for us was that the only other guests staying at the hotel were all Russian and we later found out that the hotel is situated in the middle of the Russian quarter and for this reason and this reason alone I would probably not stay there again as there are many other alternatives in Patong.

Nothing at all special about this place and if I had my time again, I would have picked something else.
The WIFI although free in the lobby, hardly works. The locks on the door aren't secure enough and the bed was like sleeping on a rock. I was crippled for a week after i returned home.
But I guess you get what you pay for.

Stayed here for a night and the stay was comfortable. The room is clean however the bathroom is starting to show age and lack of maintenance (chips in tiles, ext). The walls could use a little more soundproofing also. The TV is an older model CRT with subpar quality (this is a relatively cheap fix for the hotel that will pay off), the mattress is a pretty stiff (I like a firm mattress and this is at the edge of my comfort level). Didn't get time to enjoy the pool much but it looks clean and maintained and there is a poolside bar. The wifi is only free in the lobby and cost 50Baht for in room wifi for one day (there are other options for 3 days, ect). It is a decent hotel and would sleep here again if needed but with so many options in Patong for the same price I think I will try something else.

Overall stunning beach front villas. Very convenient with own kitchen
Staff and management of the property is however not yet what it should be - particulary not if you look at the pricelevel. Not even close to Four Seasons or Mandarin Oriental standard level. It's a bit chaotic with a lot of mistakes. Still we couldn't be bothered too much and the location and the convenience of your own villa with a pool right at the beach makes it up for me and is simply ideal with kids.

Room Tip: beachfront villa
